Jang Hyuk is cast in upcoming JTBC drama series “My Country” (literal title) co-starring Yang Se-Jong, Seol Hyun and Woo Do-Hwan. For the drama series, Jang Hyuk will play Lee Bang-Won. His character tries to help his father bring down Goryeo and begin the Joseon era. After his father becomes the King, he doesn’t place Lee Bang-Won as the Crown Prince. Nevertheless, Lee Bang-Won does not give up on his ambitions to take the throne.

Park Ha-Sun and Lee Sang-Yeob are cast in Channel A drama series “Love Affairs in the Afternoon.” The drama series is a remake of 2014 Fuji TV drama series “Hirugao: Love Affairs in the Afternoon” starring Aya Ueto and Takumi Saito. Park Ha-Sun will play housewife Son Ji-Eun and Lee Sang-Yeob will play biology teacher Yoon Jung-Woo.

First script reading for JTBC drama series “Welcome to Waikiki Season 2” took place January 21, 2019 at JTBC Building in Sangam, Seoul, South Korea. Main cast members for season 2 including Lee Yi-Kyung, Kim Sun-Ho, Shin Hyun-Soo, Mun Ka-Young, Ahn So-Hee and Kim Ye-Won attended. The drama series is a sequel to popular 2018 JTBC drama series “Welcome to Waikiki.”

Seol Hyun (AOA) is now cast in JTBC drama series “My Country” (literal title) co-starring Yang Se-Jong and Woo Do-Hwan. For the period drama series, Seol Hyun will play lead female character Han Hee-Jae. She is the leader of information group Yihwaroo. She is smart and good at martial arts. Filming for the drama series will begin March, 2019.

Song Seung-Heon has been offered the lead role in new tvN drama series “Great Show” (literal title). Currently, Song Seung-Heon is “positively considering” the offer. If he accepts, Song Seung-Heon will play Wie Dae-Han. His character name means literally great.

Shin Se-Kyung is cast for the title character role in MBC drama series “Rookie Historian Goo Hae-Ryung” (literal title). The drama series is set in the early 19th century and Shin Se-Kyung will play historian Goo Hae-Ryung. Meanwhile, Cha Eun-Woo from boy band Astro has been offered the lead male role and he is still considering. Cha Eun-Woo previously performed as the lead male character in JTBC drama series “ID: Gangnam Beauty.”

Lim Soo-Jung is cast in upcoming tvN drama series “WWW” (English title). For the drama series, Lim Soo-Jung will play lead female character Bae Ta-Mi. Her character works for a web portal website and she is competitive. Actor Chang Ki-Yong was first offered the lead male role, but whether he accepted or not has not yet been announced. Since he is starring in upcoming OCN drama series “Kill It,” it would seem more likely that someone else will be cast for the lead male role.
“WWW” is tentatively scheduled to air sometime during the first half of this year in South Korea.
Yeo Jin-Goo has been offered the lead male role in tvN drama series “Hotel del Luna.” Singer-actress IU has already received an offer to play the lead female role. Currently, Yeo Jin-Goo and IU are considering their offers. If Yeo Jin-Goo accepts, he will play the man who becomes the manager of Hotel del Luna. The CEO of Hotel del Luna would be played by IU if she accepts.

Jung Kyoung-Ho, Park Sung-Woong, Lee Seol and Lee El are cast in tvN drama series “When the Devil Calls Your Name” (literal title). The drama series is motivated by classic German play “Faust” by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. For the drama series, Jung Kyoung-Ho will play popular songwriter Ha Rib who makes a pact with the devil. Park Sung-Woong will play top actor Mo Tae-Kang who is possessed by the devil. Lee Seol will play unpopular singer-songwriter Lee Kyung. Lastly, Lee El will play Ji Seo-Young. She is the CEO of an entertainment company which Ha Rib is a client of.
