First script reading for SBS drama series “Backstreet Rookie”

First script reading for SBS drama series “Backstreet Rookie” (English title), starring Ji Chang-Wook and Kim You-Jung, took place around February, 2020 in South Korea. The first script reading featured main cast members Ji Chang-Wook, Kim You-Jung, Han Sun-Hwa, Ahn Sol-Bin, Lee Byung-Joon, Woo Hyeon and others. “Backstreet Rookie” (literal title “Convenience Store Saet-Byeol”) is based on webcomic “Pyeonuijeom Saetbyeoli” by Hwalhwasan.

Ep.1 air date is also now set for June 12, 2020  in South Korea (takes over SBS’ Friday & Saturday 10 PM time slot after “The King: Eternal Monarch“).

Shin Sung-Rok & Lee Se-Young cast in MBC drama series “Kairos”

Shin Sung-Rok and Lee Se-Young are cast for lead roles in MBC drama series “Kairos.” Ahn Bo-Hyun and Nam Gyu-Ri are also cast for major supporting character roles in the drama series. The drama series is a thriller-mystery that involves two people communicating from the recent past and present.

“Kairos” first airs sometime in the second half of this year in South Korea.

Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: Kim Seo-Jin (Shin Sung-Rok) is a man who is driven only to achieve success in his life. Thanks to his efforts, he is the youngest executive at his company. His life is perfect, with his beautiful violinist wife Kang Hyun-Chae (Nam Gyu-Ri) and a daughter. His wonderful life comes to a halt when his young daughter is kidnapped. He falls deep into despair. To change the past, when his daughter was kidnapped, he contacts Han Ae-Ri (Lee Se-Young) approximately one month in the past.

Han Ae-Ri has busy days with her studies and working a part-time job to make enough money to pay for her sick mother’s operation. One day, her mother suddenly goes missing. Han Ae-Ri falls into despair, when Kim Seo-Jin from the future contacts her.

MBC drama series “Miss Lee Knows” to air from July 1, 2020

MBC drama series “Miss Lee Knows,” starring Kang Sung-Yeon & Jo Han-Sun, is now set to air from July 1, 2020 in South Korea. The drama series will follow “Kkondae Intern” in MBC’s Wednesday & Thursday 9:30 PM time slot. “Miss Lee Knows” consists of 4 episodes. The first script reading for the drama series took place April 6, 2020 at MBC Broadcasting Station in Sangam, South Korea.

Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: Mysterious cases take place at an apartment complex which is about to go under reconstruction. Lee Goong-Bok (Kang Sung-Yeon) is a real estate agent that works with apartments there. She has a meddlesome type of personality. In Cheol-Ho (Jo Han-Sun) is a veteran detective.

The teaser trailer starts off with Jung Jin-Young playing the father Kim Sang-Sik, but he is shown unconscious after falling down a mountain.
