Main trailer for live-action film “Miyamoto kara Kimi e”

Main trailer added for live-action film “Miyamoto kara Kimi e” starring Sosuke Ikematsu and Yu Aoi. Movie is based on manga series “Miyamoto kara Kimi e” by Hideki Arai and follows 2018 TV Tokyo live-action drama series “Miyamoto kara Kimi e.” Meanwhile, the main trailer reveals the movie’s theme song which is “Do you remember?” by Hiroji Miyamoto.

“Miyamoto kara Kimi e” will be released September 27, 2019 in Japan.

Yuya Yagira & Min Tanaka cast in biopic film “Hokusai”

Yuya Yagira and Min Tanaka are cast in biopic film “Hokusai.” The film is based on the life of 19th century artist Katsushika Hokusa and directed by Hajime Hashimoto (“Aibou: X-Day“). Below is an image of Katsushika Hokusa’s iconic woodblock print “The Great Wave off Kanagawa.” For the film, Yuya Yagira will play Katsushika Hokusa as a young man and Min Tanaka will play Katsushika Hokusa in his older days. Also cast in supporting roles for the film are Hiroshi Abe, Eita and Hiroshi Tamaki.

“Hokusai” will be released summer, 2020 in Japan.

Kento Kaku cast in NTV drama series “Nippon Noir: Detective Y’s Rebellion”

Kento Kaku is cast in new NTV drama series “Nippon Noir: Detective Y’s Rebellion” (literal title). The drama series features an original screenplay by Shogo Muto (“Mr. Hiiragi’s Homeroom“) and directed by Ryuichi Inomata (“I’m Mita, Your Housekeeper“). In the drama series, Kento Kaku plays Detective Kiyoharu Yusa. He wakes up in the forest and soon realizes he is a murder suspect.

“Nippon Noir: Detective Y’s Rebellion” first airs October, 2019 in Japan.

Main trailer & poster for movie “Inakunare Gunjo”

Main trailer and poster added for movie “Inakunare Gunjo” starring Ryusei Yokohama and Marie Iitoyo. Movie is based on novel “Inakunare Gunjo” by Yutaka Kono and directed by Akina Yanagi. The main trailer also reveals the movie’s theme song which is “Bokura no Deatta Basho” by Salyu. Singer Salyu first gained attention after performing as the fictional singer Lily Chou-Chou in Shinji Iwai’s “All About Lily Chou-Chou.” Caption on the main poster for “Inakunare Gunjo” teases “Let’s make a promise. We will surely meet again.”

Takumi Saito, Masami Nagasawa & Hidetoshi Nishijima cast in movie “Shin Ultraman”

Takumi Saito, Masami Nagasawa and Hidetoshi Nishijima are cast in movie “Shin Ultraman.” The film is based on the “Ultraman” TV series that aired from 1966-1967 on TBS. Takumi Saito will play the lead role of a man who becomes the new Ultraman. Masami Nagasawa and Hidetoshi Nishijima will play major supporting character roles. The first draft script for the film was completed on February 5, 2019. Shinji Higuchi (“Attack on Titan“) will direct the film and the screenplay is written by Hideaki Anno (“Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone“).

“Shin Ultraman” will be released sometime in 2021.

Hio Miyazawa & Kisetsu Fujiwara cast in movie “His”

Hio Miyazawa & Kisetsu Fujiwara are cast in gay romance film “His.” Screenplay is written by Atsushi Asada (“Penguin Fufu“) and directed by Rikiya Imaizumi (“Little Nights, Little Love“). Also cast in the film are Wakana Matsumoto, Honoka Matsumoto, Sakura Sotomura, Kumi Nakamura, Keiichi Suzuki, Toshie Negishi, Keisuke Horibe and Keiko Toda. The film follows two men who fell in love as high school students, but broke up at the end of their college days. They meet again 6 years later.

“His” will be released January 24, 2020 in Japan.

Visual & supporting performers announced for movie “Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku”

Nanao & Takumi Saito are cast in movie “Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku” starring Mitsuki Takahata and Kento Yamazaki. Movie is based on webcomic “Wotaku ni Koi ha Muzukashii” by Fujita and directed by Yuichi Fukuda. For the film, Nanao will play supporting character Hanako Koyanagi and Takumi Saito will play supporting character Taro Kabakura. Both of the supporting characters works with main characters Narumi Momose (Mitsuki Takahata ) and Hirotaka Nifuji (Kento Yamazaki) at the same office and they are also dating. “Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku” is now scheduled for release February 7, 2020 in Japan.
