Ryo Narita and Atsuko Maeda are cast in movie “Convenience Story.” The film is scripted & directed by Satoshi Miki (“Adrift in Tokyo“). Story for the film revolves around convenience store Liso Mart, where mysterious woman Keiko (Atsuko Maeda) works. Ryo Narita will play a screenwriter who goes to the store and meets Keiko.

Teaser trailer and teaser posters added for live-action film “Whisper of the Heart” starring Nana Seino & Tori Matsuzaka. Movie is based on on manga series “Mimi o Sumaseba” by Aoi Hiiragi. Caption on the two teaser posters states “There’s someone I want to meet.” Also announced today, Runa Yasuhara and Tsubasa Nakagawa will appear in the film to play the middle school days of lead characters Shizuku Tsukishima and Seiji Amasawa.

Shingo Katori and Yukino Kishii are cast in movie “Inu mo Kuwane do Charlie wa Warau.” Movie is scripted and directed by Masahide Ichii (“Blindly in Love“). In the comedy movie, Shingo Katori and Yukino Kishii will play a married couple. They seem to be in a happy marriage, but the wife makes sinister posts about her husband on a social media page.
Filming took place from late September – late October, 2021 in Tokyo and Saitama. “Inu mo Kuwane do Charlie wa Warau” will be released September, 2022 in Japan.

Main trailer and poster added for movie “The Way of the Househusband The Movie” starring Hiroshi Tamaki, Haruna Kawaguchi, & Jun Shison. Movie is based on webcomic “Gokushufudo” by Kousuke Oono and follows 2020 NTV drama series “The Way of the Househusband.” The film follows former yakuza member Tatsu (Hiroshi Tamaki). After marriage, he tackles household problems rather than gang problems. The movie’s theme song has also been announced as “2way nice guy” by musical group Creepy Nuts. The theme song also plays in the main trailer.

In addition, the first group of supporting cast members has been announced for the film and they are Hikari Mitsushima, Mikako Ichikawa, Shinya Kote, Nao, Taiga Kyomoto, and Tetsuya Takeda. Hiroki Suzuki, Yoshihiko Aramaki, Masanari Wada, & Fuma Sadamoto are cast in sequel film “Touken Ranbu: The Movie 2.” Movie is a sequel to 2019 movie “Touken Ranbu: The Movie,” which is based on collectible card video game “Touken Ranbu.” Hiroki Suzuki, Yoshihiko Aramaki, Masanari Wada, & Fuma Sadamoto will all reprise characters they played in the first film. Also cast to play new characters are Mizuki Umetsu, Takamichi Sato, Ryosuke Yamamoto, Reo Honda, Eito Konishi, & Yuki Tamaki.
“Touken Ranbu: The Movie 2” will be released sometime next year in Japan.
Kenichi Matsuyama and Masami Nagasawa are cast in suspense-mystery film “Lost Care.” The movie is based on 2013 novel “Lost Care” by Aki Hamanaka and directed by Tetsu Maeda (“A Banana? At This Time of Night?“). Kenichi Matsuyama will play home health care worker Munenori Shiba. He becomes a suspect in a murder case. Masami Nagasawa will play Prosecutor Hidemi Otomo.
