Movie is based on light novel “Sakurada Risetto” by Yutaka Kono and directed by Yoshihiro Fukagawa. “Sakurada Reset 1” will be released March 25, 2017 and “Sakurada Reset 2” will be released May 13, 2017 in Japan.
Second teaser trailer added for upcoming movie “Yozora wa Itsudemo Saiko Mitsudo no Aoiro da” starring Shizuka Ishibashi & Sosuke Ikematsu. Movie is directed by Yuya Ishii and based on poetry book “Yozora wa Itsudemo Saiko Mitsudo no Aoiro da” by Tahi Saihate. “Yozora wa Itsudemo Saiko Mitsudo no Aoiro da” will be released May 13, 2017 in Japan.
Kento Yamazaki & Tomokazu Miura are cast in new movie “A Forest of Wool and Steel” (“Hitsuji to Hagane no Mori”). The film is based on 2015 novel “Hitsuji to Hagane no Mori” by Natsu Miyashita, which won the 13th Japan Booksellers’ Award in 2016. Kojiro Hashimoto, who worked with Kento Yamazaki in 2015 film “Orange,” will direct the film. In the film, Kento Yamazaki will play Naoki Tomura. He is a high school student in a small Hokkaido village. Once he hears Soichiro Itadori (Tomokazu Miura) tune the piano at his high school, his life changes. He tries to become a piano tuner himself.

Hikari Mitsushima is cast in new movie “Umibe no Sei to Shi.” The film is directed by Michio Koshikawa. The movie is set at the end of World War II and Hikari Mitsushima plays a woman named Toe. She works as a teacher on the island of Kakeromajima. She holds feelings for Saku who is the head of navy special forces.
“Umibe no Sei to Shi” will be released July, 2017 in Japan.
Masato Sakai and Mitsuki Takahata are cast in live-action film “Destiny Kamakura Monogatari.” The film is based on manga series “Kamakura Monogatari” by Ryohei Saigan and directed by Takashi Yamazaki. Director Takashi Yamazaki previously adapted manga series “San-chome no Yuhi” by Ryohei Saigan into live-action film “Always: Sunset on Third Street.” Also cast in the movie in supporting roles are Shinichi Tsutsumi, Min Tanaka, Jun Kunimura, Hiroko Yakushimaru, Tomokazu Miura, Sakura Ando and Tamao Nakamura.
In live-action film “Destiny Kamakura Monogatari,” Masato Sakai and Mitsuki Takahata will play husband and wife Masakazu Isshiki and Akiko Isshiki. They live in Kamakura, Japan with Masakazu Isshiki working as a mystery writer. They also solve mysterious cases that takes place in Kamakura.
“Destiny Kamakura Monogatari” will be released December 9, 2017 in Japan.
Main trailer added for upcoming movie “Parks” starring Ai Hashimoto, Mei Nagano & Shota Sometani. Movie has been selected as the closing film for the 2017 Osaka Asian Film Festival (March 3-12, 2017). “Parks” will be released April 22, 2017 in Japan.
Yasushi Fuchikami and Shunsuke Tanaka (‘Boys and Men’) are cast in live-action film “Double Mints.” In addition, Shunpei Kawagoishi and Kenta Suga are cast to play the two main characters in their high school days. Ami Tomite, Kazuya Takahashi and Shigemitsu Ogi are also cast in supporting roles. The film is based on manga series”Double Mints” by Asumiko Nakamura and directed by Eiji Uchida. Story for the film follows two men with the same name of Mitsuo Ichikawa, but spelled differently in kanji. They went to the same high school. Back then, one was more of a subordinate to the other. Now, one of the men is a hoodlum and tells the other Mitsuo Ichikawa that he killed a woman. They become accomplices and build a new relationship.

Yu Aoi and Sadao Abe are cast in movie “Kanojo ga Sono Mei wo Shiranai Toritachi.” The film is based on 2006 novel of same name by Mahokaru Numata and directed by Kazuya Shiraishi (“The Devil’s Path”). In the movie “Kanojo ga Sono Mei wo Shiranai Toritachi,” Yu Aoi plays a woman named Towako. Even though they broke up 8 years ago, Towako can’t forget a man named Kurosaki. She lives with an older man Jinji (Sadao Abe) out of convenience, but she doesn’t care for him at all. She then meets a married man who reminds her of Kurosaki. Filming for the movie began October 8, 2016 in Osaka and finished a month later.
“Kanojo ga Sono Mei wo Shiranai Toritachi” will be released sometime during autumn, 2017 in Japan.
Fumika Shimizu and Rena Matsui (former SKE48 member) are cast in movie “Warau Manekineko” and TBS-MBS drama series “Warau Manekineko.” Both titles are based on 2004 novel “Warau Manekineko” by Yukihisa Yamamoto. The plot for the movie and drama series will tell different stories about the two main characters: Fumika Shimizu as Hitomi Takashiro and Rena Matsui as Akako Honda. The two women work together as comedy duo “Akako to Hitomi,” but they have found little success to date. For the movie “Warau Manekineko,” the two women catch a kid trying to steal Hitomi’s bicycle and this causes their fate to change.
Drama series “Warau Manekineko” will first air March 19, 2017 on MBS and March 21, 2017 on TBS. The drama series will consist of 4 episodes. The movie version of “Warau Manekineko” will be released April 29, 2017 in Japan. Both the movie and drama series will be directed by Ken Iizuka.
