Here’s the first still images of Song Hye-Kyo in upcoming tvN drama series “Encounter” (English title) co-starring Park Bo-Gum. The literal title of the drama series is “Boyfriend” (“Namjachingoo”). In the drama series, Song Hye-Ko plays Cha Soo-Hyun. Due to her politician father, she has never lived her life under her free will. She is a hotel CEO and the ex-daughter-in-law of a chaebol family. She meets an ordinary man played by Park Bo-Gum.

“Encounter” first airs November, 2018 in South Korea (takes over tvN’s Wednesday & Thursday 9:30 PM time slot after “Hundred Million Stars From the Sky“).

First script reading for tvN drama series “Boyfriend”

First script reading for tvN drama series “Boyfriend” took place August, 2018 in Sangnam Neighborhood, Seoul, South Korea. Main cast members including Song Hye-Kyo, Park Bo-Gum, Ko Chang-Seok, Shin Jung-KeunBaek Ji-Won, Moon Sung-GeunKim Hye-Eun and Jeon So-Nee attended. The drama series depicts the romance between Cha Soo-Hyun (Song Hye-Kyo), who has never lived freely, and outgoing Kim Jin-Hyeok (Park Bo-Gum).

Song Hye-Kyo and Park Bo-Gum cast drama series “Boyfriend”

Song Hye-Kyo and Park Bo-Gum are now cast in new drama series “Boyfriend.” The duo will play lead characters in the drama series. Currently, tvN is in discussions to air the drama series. Story for “Boyfriend” will follow Cha Soo-Hyun (Song Hye-Ko) and Kim Jin-Hyeok (Park Bo-Gum). Cha Soo-Hyun has never lived her life freely due to her politician father. She meets Kim Jin-Hyeok. He is an ordinary young man who values happiness.

Song Hye-Kyo offered lead female role in drama series “Boyfriend”

Song Hye-Kyo has received an offer to play the lead female role in upcoming drama series “Boyfriend” (literal title). Park Bo-Gum has already received an offer to play the lead male role, but has not yet decided whether to accept. Currently, Song Hye-Ko is considering her offer. If she accepts, she will play Cha Soo-Hyun. Her character is the daughter of a politician and she married someone for her father. She is now a divorcee and meets someone while abroad. The drama series is scripted by Yoo Young-A.

“Boyfriend” will first air sometime in the second half of 2018, but exact network has yet to be decided.

Park Bo-Gum and Bae Suzy offered lead roles in SBS drama series “Incheon Airport People”

Park Bo-Gum and Bae Suzy have been offered lead roles in new SBS drama series “Incheon Airport People” (literal title). Currently, both performers are considering their offers. The drama series will revolve around people who work at Incheon International Airport. “Incheon Airport People” will be directed by Shin Woo-Cheol and scripted by Kang Eun-Kyung. Director Shin Woo-Cheol and screenwriter Kang Eun-Kyung previously worked with Bae Suzy in 2012 MBC drama series “Gu Family Book.”

“Incheon Airport People” is tentatively scheduled to air from September, 2018 in South Korea.

Park Bo-Gum declines offer to play lead role in tvN drama series “Hwayuki”

Park Bo-Gum has declined an offer to play a lead role in new tvN drama series “Hwayuki.” Cha Seung-Won has previously received an offer to play a co-lead role and he is still considering his offer. The drama series is setup as a modern day reinterpretation of classic Chinese novel “Journey to the West” and the drama series will be scripted by sisters Hong Jung-Eun and Hong Mi-Ran. While the search for the lead actor will continue, “Hwayuki” is still targeted to air sometime this December in South Korea.

Park Bo-Gum offered lead role in tvN drama series “Hwayuki”

Park Bo-Gum has been offered a lead role in upcoming tvN drama series “Hwayuki.” Cha Seung-Won has already received an offered to play a co-lead character and he is still “positively considering” the offer. Park Bo-Gum is also considering his offer. The drama series is based on classic Chinese novel “Journey to the West,” but set in the present day and with a romantic twist. The screenplay will be scripted by Hong Jung-Eun and Hong Mi-Ran. If Park Bo-Gum accepts, he will play Son O-Gong (the character of Sun Wukong in original novel “Journey to the West”). If Cha Seung-Won accepts he will play King Wooma (Bull Demon King).

“Hwayuki” is tentatively scheduled to air from December, 2017 in South Korea.
