Teaser trailer & poster for movie “The Door into Summer”

Teaser trailer and poster added for movie “The Door into Summer” starring Kento Yamazaki, Kaya Kiyohara, and Naohito Fujiki. Movie is based on novel “The Door into Summer” by U.S. sci-fi writer Robert A. Heinlein and directed by Takahiro Miki (“Fortuna’s Eye“). Main trailer added for movie “The Brightest Roof in the Universe” starring Kaya Kiyohara and Kaori Momoi. Movie is based on 2003 novel “Uchu de Ichiban Akarui Yane” by Tomoso Nonaka and directed by Michihito Fujii. The theme song for the movie is also revealed in the main trailer, which is “Ima to Anokoro no Bokura” by singer song-writer Cocco.

Teaser trailer added for movie “The Brightest Roof in the Universe” (English title) starring Kaya Kiyohara, Kaori Momoi, and Kentaro Ito. The film is based on 2003 novel “Uchu de Ichiban Akarui Yane” by Tomoso Nonaka and directed by Michihito Fujii. Captions in the teaser trailer states in Japanese (0:11) “Two people meet,” (0:14) “The universe begins to glitter beautifully.” The teaser trailer also briefly shows Kaya Kiyohara as Tsubame Oishi riding a bicycle in the nighttime sky.

Kaya Kiyohara cast in NHK drama series “Welcome Back, Mone”

Kaya Kiyohara is cast in NHK drama series “Welcome Back, Mone” (“Okaeri Mone”). The drama series is NHK’s 104th asadora (morning drama series). For the drama series, Kaya Kiyohara will play Momone Nagaura. She eventually becomes a weather forecaster.

“Welcome Back, Mone” first airs spring, 2021 in Japan.

Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: Momone Nagaura (Kaya Kiyohara) lives with her parents, grandfather and younger sister on an island in Kesennuma Bay, Miyagi Prefecture. In the spring of 2014, Momone Nagaura graduates from high school and moves to the city of Tome. She fails to enter a university. While she tries to figure out what to do with her life, she begins to work as an apprentice of a forest guide. A turning point in her life occurs. A popular weather forecaster from Tokyo arrives. Momone Nagaura walks on a mountain with the weather forecaster. She hears from the weather forecaster that the weather forecaster can predict the future. Momone Nagaura becomes touched by that comment and decides to become a weather forecaster. She studies hard for the exam to become a weather forecaster. With the help of the people around her in Tome, she finally passes the exam. Momone Nagaura moves to Tokyo and begins to work at a private weather forecasting company. Working there, she grows up as a weather forecaster. Several years later, in 2019, a major typhoon approaches Japan. To help her hometown, she heads to Kesennuma Bay.

Teaser poster & supporting cast for movie “Wish”

Teaser poster and supporting cast members added for movie “Wish” starring Shinichi Tsutsumi and Yuriko Ishida. The film is based on 2016 novel “Nozomi” by Shusuke Shizukui (“Killing For The Prosecution“) and directed by Yukihiko Tsutsumi (“SPEC: Heaven“). Newly announced supporting cast members for the film are Kenshi OkadaKaya Kiyohara,  Masaya KatoShota MatsudaYoshie Ichige and Raita Ryu. Caption on the teaser poster asks “Is our beloved son a murderer or a victim?”

Out of the new supporting cast members, Kenshi Okada will play the son Tadashi Ishikawa and Kaya Kiyohara will play his sister Miyabi Ishikawa. Masaya Kato will play Detective Teranuma and Shota Matsuda will play Reporter Naito. Yoshio Ichige will play Fumiko, who is the grandmother. Lastly, Raita Ryu will play Takayama, who is the CEO of a construction company.

“Wish” will be released sometime this October in Japan.

More castings announced for upcoming film “The Brightest Roof in the Universe” starring Kaya Kiyohara and Kaori Momoi. Cast in supporting roles for the film are Kentaro Ito, Hidetaka Yoshioka, Maki Sakai, Takashi Yamanaka, Kotaro Daigo, and Miki Mizuno. The film is based on 2003 novel Uchu de Ichiban Akarui Yane” by Tomoso Nonaka and directed by Michihito Fujii (“The Journalist“). For the film, Kentaro Ito will play university student Toru Asakura. Main character Tsubame played by Kaya Kiyohara has a crush on him. Hidetaka Yoshioka will play Toshio Oishi. He is the father of main character Tsubame. Maki Saki will play Asako Oishi. She is the stepmother of Tsubame and wife of Toshio Oishi.

Takashi Yamanaka will play Takehiko Ushiyama. He is the teacher for Tsubame’s calligraphy class. Kotaro Daigo will play Makoto Sasagawa. He is the ex-boyfriend of Tsubame. Lastly, Miki Mizuno will play Hibari Yamagami. She is the birth mother of Tsubame.

“The Brightest Roof in the Universe” will be released sometime this autumn in Japan.

Takeru Satoh & Hiroshi Abe cast in movie “To Those Who Were Not Protected”

Takeru Satoh & Hiroshi Abe are cast in movie “To Those Who Were Not Protected” (literal title). The movie is based on 2018 novel “Mamorarenakatta Monotachi e” by Shichiri Nakayama (“Goodbye Debussy“) and directed by Takahisa Zeze. Also cast in the film for supporting roles are Kaya Kiyohara, Mitsuko Baisho, Hidetaka Yoshioka, & Kento Hayashi.

Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: 9 years after the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami, two murder cases take place in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture. The two victims are assumed to have been murdered by the same person. Both of the victims were tied all over their body and starved to death. Yasuhisa Tone (Takeru Satoh) emerges as a suspect in the murders. Yasuhisa Tone was just recently released from prison. In his past, he committed arson and injured someone to protect his acquaintance. Detective Seiichiro Tomashino (Hiroshi Abe) discovers a common link between the two victims and chases after Yasuhisa Tone.

Filming for the movie will take place from April to May, 2020. “To Those Who Were Not Protected” will be released sometime later this year in Japan.

Ryo Narita & Kaya Kiyohara cast in movie “Matomo Janai no wa Kimi mo Issho”

Ryo Narita and Kaya Kiyohara are cast in movie “Matomo Janai no wa Kimi mo Issho.” The film is scripted by Ryo Takada and directed by Koji Maeda. Screenwriter Ryo Takada and Director Koji Maeda have previously worked together on 2011 film “Cannonball Wedlock” and 2014 film “My Hawaiian Discovery.” In the film, Ryo Narita will private institute math teacher Yasuomi Ono and Kaya Kiyohara will play his student Kasumi Akimoto.

Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: Yasuomi Ono (Ryo Narita) is a math teacher at a private institute. He doesn’t have a girlfriend and he is engrossed in math. Yasuomi Ono doesn’t complain about his life, but he feels unease about being single for the rest of his life. His dates with women do not go smoothly. Yasuomi Ono doesn’t now what to do to fix that. His student Kasumi Akimoto (Kaya Kiyohara) tells Yasuomi Ono that he is not normal. Yasuomi Ono asks her to teach him to become normal.

English subtitled trailer for movie “Day and Night”

English subtitled trailer added for upcoming movie “Day and Night” starring Shinnosuke Abe, Masanobu Ando and Kaya Kiyohara. Movie is directed by Michihito Fujii and produced by well known actor Takayuki Yamada. Movie “Day and Night” looks at how good and evil can be viewed differently by the acts people take. Shinnosuke Abe plays Koji Akashi. He returns to his hometown after his father’s suicide. His father was a whistleblower of an automotive company where he worked.

“Day and Night” will be released January 26, 2019 in Japan.
