Kentaro Sakaguchi cast in movie “Narratage”

Kentaro Sakaguchi is cast for movie “Narratage” starring Jun Matsumoto and Kasumi Arimura. The film is based on the 2005 novel of same name by Rio Shimamoto and directed by Isao Yukisada. In the movie, Kentaro Sakaguchi will play university student Reiji Ono. He becomes the boyfriend of Izumi Kudo (Kasumi Arimura), but is filled with jealousy over Takashi Hayama (Jun Matsumoto).

“Narratage” will be released this autumn in Japan.

Jang Na-Ra and Chansung cast in drama series “Housewife Detective”

Jang Na-Ra and Chansung (‘2PM’) are now cast for the lead roles in new drama series “Housewife Detective” (literal title). Already cast in supporting roles are Jo Hyun-JaeHong Soo-A and Lee Min-Ho.

In the drama series, Jang Na-Ra will play Myung Yoo-Jin. She has raised her child alone since the death of her husband. She becomes an assistant to a private detective. Meanwhile, Chansung will play Han Hee-Joon. He is the private detective which Myung Yoo-Jin works for. He introduces himself as a genius private detective.

Filing begins January, 2017, but exact network which will air the drama series has yet be announced.

Lee Sang-Yoon offered lead male role in SBS drama series “Whisper”

Lee Sang-Yoon has been offered the lead male role in upcoming SBS drama series “Whisper” which has just cast Lee Bo-Young in the lead female role. Lee Sang-Yoon is currently considering the offer positively. Lee Sang-Yoon previously starred with Lee Bo-Young in 2012-2013 KBS2 drama series “Seo-Young, My Daughter.”

If Lee Sang-Yoon accepts his offer, he will play Lee Dong-Joon. His character works as judge with a high set of morals. He works with a charismatic detective played by Lee Bo-Young while uncovering corruption at the biggest law firm in the country.

“Whisper” will first air this March in South Korea (takes over SBS’ Monday and Tuesday 10PM time slot after “Defendant“).

Ito Ono & Win Morisaki cast in movie “Kujira no Shima no Wasuremono”

Ito Ono & Win Morisaki cast in new movie “Kujira no Shima no Wasuremono.” The film is directed by first time movie director Yuji Makino. The film deals with the relationship between Aimi (Ito Ono) and Koa Guen (Win Morisaki). Aimi still grieves over the death of her mother who passed away during the Kyoto earthquake in 1995. She moves to Okinawa to see whale’s jump out of the water which she saw before with her mother. She then meets Koa Guen who is a Vietnamese man interning at an IT company in Okinawa. She finds a connection with Koa Guen.

“Kujira no Shima no Wasuremono” will be released sometime during spring, 2018 in Japan.

Main trailer for movie “Yes, Family”

Main trailer for movie “Yes, Family” (literal title) starring Lee Yo-Won, Jeong Man-Sik, Esom & Jung Joon-Won. The film is setup as a family-drama-comedy revolving around three adult siblings. Lee Yo-Won plays the middle sibling. She views her older brother (Jeong Man-Sik) and younger sister (Esom) as burdens. A young boy (Jung Joon-Won) then appears who turns out to be their youngest sibling.

“Yes, Family” is the first Korean film distributed by Walt Disney Company Korea and will be released February 15, 2017 in South Korea.

Filming for movie “Daerib Forces” finishes

Filming for movie “Daerib Forces,” starring Lee Jung-Jae & Yeo Jin-Goo, finished January 10, 2017. Movie took about 5 months to complete. Filming locations took place all across South Korea. Story for the film takes place during the Joseon Dynasty era, with Japanese forces invading the country. King Seonjo flees the country, leaving behind Prince Gwanghae (Yeo Jin-Goo). Meanwhile, To-Woo (Lee Jung-Jae) leads the Daerib Forces to combat the invading forces.

Visual of Fumika Shimizu for live-action film “Tokyo Ghoul”

Here’s a visual (poster) of Fumika Shimizu as Toka Kirishima in upcoming live-action film “Tokyo Ghoul” co-starring Masataka Kubota. For the live-action film, Fumika Shimizu had hair cut short to play Toka Kirishima. Her character is a female high school student and also a ghoul. She works part-time at Cafe Anteiku where Ken Kaneki (Masataka Kubota) goes. The cafe is the place for ghouls to gather.

“Tokyo Ghoul” will be released sometime during summer, 2017 in Japan.

Kyoka Suzuki and Koji Seto cast in TV Tokyo drama special “Toga no Hito”

Kyoka Suzuki and Koji Seto are cast in new TV Tokyo drama special “Toga no Hito.” The drama special is based on 2013 novel “Toga no Hito” by Arimasa Osawa and directed by Akimitsu Sasaki. In the drama special, Kyoko Suzuki plays former detective Shizuri Maki. She quit her job after her partner Detective Maeda died while protecting her. She then meets Detective Maeda’s son (played by Koji Seto) while visiting his grave.

“Toga no Hito” airs this spring in Japan.
