Lee Kwang-Soo is set to make a special appearance in upcoming KBS2 drama series “The Best Hit” starring Yoon Si-Yoon and Kim Min-Jae. Lee Kwang-Soo is good friends with supporting actor/director Cha Tae-Hyun which led to his special appearance. In the drama series, Lee Kwang-Soo will play Yoon-Ki. He is the boyfriend of Choi Woo-Seung (Lee Se-Young).

Yuki Uchida and Seiichi Tanabe are cast in supporting roles for upcoming live-action film “The Disastrous Life of Saiki K” starring Kento Yamazaki and Kanna Hashimoto. For the movie, Yuki Uchida will play Kurumi Saiki. Her character is the mother of Kusuo Saiki (Kento Yamazaki). Seiichi Tanabe will play Kusuo Saiki’s father Kuniharu Saiki. Meanwhile, Kusuo Saiki is a teenager, born with psychic powers.

Kim Nam-Gil and Kim A-Joong are now cast in upcoming tvN drama series “Deserving of the Name” (literal title). Drama series will be directed by Hong Jong-Chan.
In the drama series, Kim Nam-Gil will play lead male character Heo Im. He is an oriental doctor living in the Joseon era. Due to an incident, he travels through time and finds himself in present day Seoul. Kim A-Joong will play Choi Yeon-Kyung. She is a doctor in present day Seoul. She appears cold and she carries an emotional scar. She also has a secret. These two characters meet.
“Deserving of the Name” will first air August, 2017 in South Korea (takes over tvN’s Saturday and Sunday 9PM time slot after “Secret Forest“).
Park Joong-Hoon and Kang Ha-Neul have been offered lead roles in new OCN drama series “Bad Guys 2.” The drama series is a sequel to 2014 OCN drama series “Bad Guys” which starred Kim Sang-Joong, Ma Dong-Seok & Park Hae-Jin. Both Park Joong-Hoon and Kang Ha-Neul are considering their offers positively. If Park Joong-Hoon accepts, he will play Public Prosecutor Woo Je-Moon. He has a hot-temper and pursues justice. If Kang Ha-Neul accepts, he will play Public Prosecutor No Jin-Pyeong. He is shaken after witnessing the death of his mentor.
Filming for “Bad Guys 2” begins July, 2017 and the drama series will air sometime around November, 2017 in South Korea.
Atsushi Ito & Yua Shinkawa are cast in NTV drama series “Nou ni Sumaho ga Umerareta.” The unusual premise for the drama series has Atsuhi Ito playing main character Keita Orimo. He works at a an apparel company and carries a flip phone. One day, his brain picks up smartphone like abilities and he can see things like text message balloons flying by. With his new abilities, he gets involved with problems at work. Yua Shinkawa will play Yanako Ishino. She works as a contract pattern maker at the same apparel company.

Main trailer added for upcoming movie “Okja” starring Ahn Seo-Hyun. Movie is directed by Bong Joon-Ho and will stream on Netflix worldwide on June 28, 2017. The film will also premiere in South Korean theaters on the same day (June 29, 2017 local time). The movie is having its world premiere at this year’s Cannes Film Festival in the “Competition” section. “Okja” also features the appearance of Hollywood actors including Jake Gyllenhaal, Lily Collins and Tilda Swinton.
Emi Takei is cast in upcoming TV Asahi drama series “Black Leather Notebook” (literal title). The drama series is based on 1983 novel “Kurokawa no Techo” by Seicho Matsumoto. TV Asahi previously adapted the novel into 2004 drama series “Black Leather Notebook” starring Ryoko Yonekura. In drama series “Black Leather Notebook,” Emi Takei will play main character Motoko Haraguchi. Her character embezzles 180 million yen from a bank to open a nightclub in Ginza.
