Filming for movie “Negotiation” begins

Filming for movie “Negotiation” (literal title), starring Hyun-Bin and Son Ye-Jin, began June 17, 2017 in Paju, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. The first scene filmed involved negotiator Chae-Yoon (Son Ye-Jin) facing off against Tae-Koo (Hyun-Bin) for the first time. Tae-Koo has taken his boss hostage. This is the first time that Hyun-Bin will play a villain in his acting career.

“Negotiation” will be released sometime next year in South Korea.

Kanata Hongo cast in Fuji TV drama series “Love Concierge Season 2”

Kanata Hongo is cast in Fuji TV live-action drama series “Love Concierge Season 2.” The drama series is based on manga “Rabuho no Ueno-san” written by Ueno and follows Fuji TV drama series “Love Concierge” which aired earlier this year. Also cast in “Love Concierge Season 2” are Reiya Masaki, Hikaru Osawa, Megumi Asaoka, Sotaro Yasuda and Koura Kazumasa. The drama series follows concierge Ueno (Kanata Hongo) who works at a love hotel and offers advice on love to various people.

“Love Concierge Season 2” will air fall, 2017 in Japan.

Filming for MBC drama series “King Loves” finishes

Filming for upcoming MBC drama series “King Loves” finished June 15, 2017 in Buyeo County, South Chungcheong Province, South Korea.  The drama series stars Siwan, Yoona (‘Girls’ Generation’), Hong Jong-Hyun who were all present during the last day of filming. Siwan stated after filming finished “I worked with many actors, actresses and staff members for 6 months. We were together every day and after finishing filming, I a have bittersweet feeling. I hope viewers enjoy the drama.” Yoona meanwhile stated “I worked with good people for the past 6 months. I am so thankful. For me, it was a new challenge to portray Eun San. I am happy to have thought about her intently and portray her. This was a very precious time for me. I hope many people enjoy the drama series this summer.”

“King Loves” first airs July, 2017 in South Korea.

Takahiro Miura, Shingo Tsurumi and Sei Shiraishi cast in movie “Shiori”

Takahiro Miura, Shingo Tsurumi and Sei Shiraishi are cast in new movie “Shiori” (literally “Bookmark”). The original screenplay is based on director’s Yusuke Sakakibara own experience when he worked as a physical therapist. In the film, Takahiro Miura plays physical therapist Masaya Takano. His father (Shingo Tsurumi) soon becomes a patient at the hospital where he works and his condition worsens. Masaya Takano’s other patients also experience difficulties which makes Masaya Takano feel helpless. A new patient, injured from a rugby match, though changes his outlook on his work.

Filming for “Shiori” took place in Oita Prefecture and has already completed. “Shiori” will be released in autumn, 2018 in Japan.

5 character posters for upcoming film “The Battleship Island”

Here’s 5 character posters for upcoming film “The Battleship Island.” The character posters are of Hwang Jung-Min, So Ji-Sub, Song Joong-Ki, Lee Jung-Hyun and Kim Soo-Ahn. They play characters from different backgrounds that are brought onto The Battleship Island to mine for coal during the Japanese colonial era in South Korea. Movie is directed by Ryoo Seung-Wan.

Gou Ayano cast in season 2 of TBS live-action drama series “Dr. Storks”

Gou Ayano is cast in season 2 of TBS live-action drama series “Dr. Storks.” Also returning for season 2 to play their respective roles are Mayu Matsuoka, Yo Yoshida, Kentaro Sakaguchi, Nana Seino, Kazuyuki Asano, Noriko Eguchi, Gen Hoshino and Nao Omori. Story for the drama series is set 2 years after season 1 of “Dr. Storks” and follows the growth of Sakura Konotori (Gou Ayano). He works as an obstetrician and also performs as a concert pianist under the stage name of “Baby.” Drama series is based on manga series “Kounodori” by You Suzunoko.

“Dr. Storks” first airs October, 2017 in Japan.

First script reading for KBS2 drama series “School 2017”

First script reading for upcoming KBS2 drama series “School 2017” took place June 19, 2017 at the KBS Annex Building in Yeuido, Seoul, South Korea. At the first script main cast members including Kim Se-Jeong (‘Gugudan’), Kim Jung-Hyun, Jang Dong-Yoon, Ro Woon (‘SF9’), Han Joo-Wan and Han Sun-Hwa (ex-‘Secret’) all attended. Kim Se-Jeong plays lead character Ra Eun-Ho and she read lines for her at the script reading. Ra Eun-Ho dreams of romance with her unrequited love, but she faces a crisis.

“School 2017” will first air this July in South Korea (takes over KBS2’s Monday and Tuesday 10PM time slot after “Fight for My Way.”).

First still images from drama series “Mojito”

Here’s the first still images from upcoming drama series “Mojito” starring Sung Joon, Lim Ji-Yeon, Baek Sung-Hyun and Kim Yoon-Hye. Filming for the drama series began this month and the exact date or network which will broadcast the series has yet to be decided. Filming will be completed prior to the series airing on TV. In the drama series, Sung Joon plays Chi Ji-Woo. He comes from a wealthy background and decides to open an afternoon cocktail bar. Lim Ji-Yeon will play So Joong-Hee. She comes from a poor background and works in the kitchen at a nightclub. The two characters meet and fall in love.
