Trailer for based-on-a-true-story film “The 8-Year Engagement”

Trailer added for based-on-a-true-story film “The 8-Year Engagement” starring Takeru Satoh and Tao Tsuchiya. Movie is based on autobiographical novel “8 Nen Goshi no Hanayome Kimi no Me ga Sametanara” by Hisashi Nakahara and Mai Nakahara. Story for the film follows a couple who are set to marry in 3 months. The woman falls into a coma and when she wakes up years later, she does not remember her fiance.

“The 8-Year Engagement” opens December 16, 2017 in Japan.

Ju Ji-Hoon and Ryoo Seung-Ryong offered lead roles in Netflix drama “Kingdom”

Ju Ji-Hoon and Ryoo Seung-Ryong have received offers to play leading roles in upcoming Netflix drama “Kingdom.” Ju Ji-Hoon has received an offer to play the lead male character which actor Song Joong-Ki recently declined. Currently, Ju Ji-Hoon is “positively considering” the offer. If he accepts, he will play the Crown Prince of the Joseon Dynasty. He investigates a mysterious epidemic and uncovers a truth that threatens the country.

Meanwhile, Ryoo Seung-Ryong has been offered a major supporting character role and he is considering the offer positively. If he accepts, Ryoo Seung-Ryong will play Jo Hak-Joo. He wields more power than the actual King.

Atsuko Maeda, Toko Miura and Machiko Ono cast in movie “Suteki na Dynamite Scandal”

Atsuko Maeda, Toko Miura and Machiko Ono are cast in movie “Suteki na Dynamite Scandal” starring Tasuku Emoto. Movie is based on autobiographical novel “Suteki na Dainamaito Sukyandaru” by Akira Suei and directed by Masanori Tominaga. Story for the film follows the rise of Suei who eventually becomes the chief editor of a famous erotic magazine in the 1980’s. Atsuko Maeda will play the wife of Suei, while Toko Miura will play a lover of Suei. Lastly, Machiko One will play the mother of Suei.

“Suteki na Dynamite Scandal” will be released March, 2018 in Japan.

Filming for movie “The Accidental Detective 2” finishes

Filming for sequel film “The Accidental Detective 2” finished September 11, 2017 and took about 3 months to complete. The movie will star Kwon Sang-Woo, Sung Dong-Il and Lee Kwang-Soo. Story for the sequel film will have Kang Dae-Man (Kwon Sang-Woo) selling his comic book store and opening a private eye detective agency without telling his wife. After filming the last scene for the movie, Kwon Sang-Woo stated “It was meaningful that I acted with actors and actresses from ‘The Accidental Detective.’ I think the movie will give new pleasure to the audience.” Movie is directed by Lee Eon-Hee.

“The Accidental Detective 2” opens sometime next year in South Korea.

Kento Nagayama, Takanori Jinnai and Masao Kusakari cast in TV Asahi drama series “Doctor-X”

Kento Nagayama, Takanori Jinnai and Masao Kusakari are cast in the 5th season of TV Asahi drama series “Doctor-X” starring Ryoko Yonekura. For the drama series, Kento Nagayama will play rookie surgeon Naoyuki Nishiyama. Takanori Jinnai will play Takashi Inomata. He is the deputy director of the surgery department. Lastly, Masao Kusakari will play Kagenobu Uchikanda. He is the chairman of the Japan doctors club.

Ep.1 of “Doctor-X” airs October 12, 2017 in Japan.

First script reading for tvN drama series “Revolutionary Love”

First script reading for tvN drama series “Revolutionary Love” took place September 10, 2017 at CJ E&M Center in Sangamdong, Seoul, South Korea. Main cast members including Choi Si-Won (‘Super Junior’), Kang So-Ra, Gong Myung, Lee Jae-Yoon, Choi Jae-Sung, Kyeon Mi-Ri, Lee Han-Wi and Kim Ye-Won all attended.

Prior to the first script reading, Choi Si-Won stated that “This is my first performance since being discharged from the military. I have a pleasing pressure, but I will do my best.” Kang So-Ra stated that “I have a good feeling and good energy about the script. I will do my best.”

“Revolutionary Love” first airs October 14, 2017 in South Korea.
