The 38th Blue Dragon Film Awards just concluded in Seoul, South Korea. Big winners for this year were “A Taxi Driver” which took prizes for “Best Film,” “Best Actor” (Song Kang-Ho), “Best Music” and “Top Box Office Seller.” Movie “I Can Speak” also won multiple awards including “Best Director” (Kim Hyun-Seok), “Best Actress” (Na Moon-Hee) and “Popularity Award” (Na Moon-Hee). Elaiza Ikeda cast in live-action film “Cherry Boys”

Elaiza Ikeda is cast for the lead female role in live-action film “Cherry Boys” starring Kento Hayashi, Shuntaro Yanagi & Tomoya Maeno. Movie is based on manga “Cherry Boys” by Tomohiro Koizumi, directed by Kenichiro Nishiumi and screenplay adaptation by Daigo Matsui. For “Cherry Boys,” Elaiza Ikeda will play Fueko Shaku. She is admired by Shinichi (Kento Hayashi), Tatsuya (Shuntaro Yanagi) and Makoto (Tomoya Maeno). All three guys are friends and 25-years-old. They are also still virgins and scheme to have sex with Fueko Shaku.

“Cherry Boys” opens February 17, 2018 in Japan.

Yuko Natori & Yumi Asou cast in TV Tokyo drama series “Kakuho no Onna”

Yuko Natori & Yumi Asou are cast in new TV Tokyo drama series “Kakuho no Onna.” In the drama series, Yumi Asou will play Detective Aya at the Kanagawa Prefecture Police Station. Yuko Natori will play Yuriko. She previously worked in the office at Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, but (in an unusual move) gets transferred to the Kanagawa Prefecture Police Station and works out in the field. Yuko Natori & Yumi Asou previously starred together as insurance examiners in 2014 TV Tokyo drama series “Woman of Maruho.”

“Kakuho no Onna” first airs January, 2018 in Japan.

First script reading for tvN drama series “Mother”

First script reading for upcoming tvN drama series “Mother” took place November 1, 2017 at CJ E&M Center in Sangamdong, Seoul, South Korea. Main cast members including Lee Bo-Young, Heo Yool, Lee Hye-Young, Ko Sung-Hee, and Lee Jae-Yoon all attended. The first script reading took about 4 hours to finish and they read through the script for ep.1 through ep.4. Drama series “Mother” is a remake of 2010 NTV drama series “Mother.” Story for “Mother” involves a substitute teacher (Lee Bo-Young) who decides to take care of a child (Heo Yool) who is abused by her mother (Ko Sung-Hee).

“Mother” first airs January, 2018 in South Korea.

Kazuki Namioka & Yuki Yoda cast in TV Tokyo-Netflix drama series “Mob Psycho 100”

Kazuki Namioka & Yuki Yoda (‘Nogizaka46’) are cast for major supporting character roles in TV Tokyo-Netflix drama series “Mob Psycho 100” starring Tatsuomi Hamada. The drama series is based on webcomic “Mob Psycho 100” by One and directed by Koichi Sakamoto. For the drama series, Kazuki Namioka will play Arataka Reigen. He runs a spirit counseling agency where Shigeo Kageyama (Tatsuomi Hamada).  Yuki Yoda will play Tsubomi Takane. She is a childhood friend of Shigeo Kageyama’s.

“Mob Psycho 100” will stream on Netflix from January 12, 2018 and will air on TV Tokyo from January 18, 2018 in Japan.

Teaser trailer #4 added for MBC drama series “Two Cops” starring Cho Jung-Seok and Hyeri. Meanwhile, the character cuts above are of Cho Jung-Seok, Hyeri and Kim Sun-Ho. Story for the drama series mixes fantasy with a police investigation storyline involving Detective Cha Dong-Tak (Cho Jung-Seok), rookie reporter Song Ji-An (Hyeri) and swindler Gong Soo-Chang (Kim Sun-Ho).
