Masami Nagasawa cast in Fuji TV drama series “The Confidence Man JP”

Masami Nagasawa is cast for the lead role in Fuji TV drama series “The Confidence Man JP.” Also cast in supporting roles are Masahiro Higashide and Fumiyo Kohinata. The trio will play a team of con artists who work together to steal money from shady wealthy people like yakuza bosses and evil businessmen. Drama series will be directed by Ryo Tanaka and Hiro Kanai. Screenplay is written by Ryota Kosawa.

“The Confidence Man JP” first airs April, 2018 in Japan.

Anna Yamada cast in live-action film “Misumisou”

Anna Yamada is cast for the lead role in live-action revenge film “Misumisou.” The film is based on manga “Misumisou” by Rensuke Oshikiri and directed by Eisuke Naito. For the upcoming film, Anna Yamada will play Haruka Nozaki. Her character experiences heavy bullying. A fire breaks out at her house and her parents die and her younger sister is injured. This drives Haruka Nozaki to seek out revenge.

“Misumisou” will be released April 7, 2018 in Japan.

Takaya Kamikawa cast in TV Tokyo drama series “Shitsuji Saionji no Meisuiri”

Takaya Kamikawa is cast in new TV Tokyo drama series “Shitsuji Saionji no Meisuiri.” The drama series will feature an original screenplay by Shinichi Tanaka and will be directed by Hajime Hashimoto. In the drama series, Takaya Kamikawa will play Butler Hajime Saionji. After a murder case takes place, he uses his reasoning powers to try to solve the mystery.

“Shitsuji Saionji no Meisuiri” first airs April, 2018 in Japan.

Lee Yoo-Bi cast in tvN drama series “You Who Forgot Poetry”

Lee Yoo-Bi is now cast for the lead female role in upcoming tvN drama series “You Who Forgot Poetry” (literal title). Actors Lee Joon-Hyuk and Gong Myung are considering offers to play lead male roles in the drama series.  Lee Yoo-Bi will play Woo Bo-Young. Her character works as a physical therapist, but as a child she dreamed of becoming a poet. Due to her poor family background, Woo Bo-Young studied to become a physical therapist.

“You Who Forgot Poetry” will first air sometime during the first half of 2018 in South Korea.

Teaser poster and still images for movie “A Forest of Wool and Steel”

Here’s the first teaser poster and still images for upcoming film “A Forest of Wool and Steel” starring Kento Yamazaki. Movie is based on novel “Hitsuji to Hagane no Mori” by Natsu Miyashita and directed by Kojiro Hashimoto. The film follows high school student Naoki Tomura (Kento Yamazaki) as he becomes interested in piano tuning.

“A Forest of Wool and Steel” will be released June 8, 2018 in Japan.

Sara Minami & Aju Makita cast in live-action film “Shino Can’t Say Her Own Name”

Sara Minami & Aju Makita are cast in live-action film “Shino Can’t Say Her Own Name.” The film is based on manga “Shino-chan wa Jibun no Namae ga Ienai” by Shuzo Oshimi and directed by Hiroaki Yuasa. The film will follow two high school girls who become friends and start a band. One of the girls played by Sara Minami can’t pronounce words that start with a vowel in front of people and the other girl played by Aju Makita is tone-deaf.

“Shino Can’t Say Her Own Name” opens July, 2018 in Japan.

Kang Ji-Hwan and Kim Ok-Vin cast in OCN drama series “Children of The Lesser God”

Kang Ji-Hwan and Kim Ok-Vin are now cast in OCN drama series “Children of The Lesser God” (literal title). The duo will play lead characters in the drama series. Kang Ji-Hwan will play Cheon Jae-In. His character works as a detective and he is highly intelligent. His coworkers usually try to steer clear of him due to his propensity to show off his smarts in front of them. Kim Ok-Vin will play Kim Dan. She is also a detective with a warm heart. She also possesses a superhuman ability pertaining to her vision. They work together to uncover a conspiracy involving a powerful organization.

“Children of The Lesser God” is now scheduled to air sometime in February, 2018 (takes over OCN’s Saturday and Sunday 10:20 PM time slot after “Bad Guys: Vile City“).
