Gou Ayano is cast in movie “Punk Samurai Slash Down.” The film is based on 2004 novel “Panku Zamurai Kirarete Soro” by Ko Machida. Movie is directed by Gakuryu Ishii (“Electric Dragon 80000V“) and screenplay by Kankuro Kudo. The film falls in the jidai shosetsu genre and follows a ronin played by Gou Ayano. He tries to join Kurokaze Han by warning them about a doomsday cult, but he then gets caught up in a power struggle.
“Punk Samurai Slash Down” will be released June 30, 2018 in Japan.
English subtitled trailer for movie “Heung-Boo: The Revolutionist” starring Jung Woo, Kim Ju-Hyeok and Jung Jin-Young. Movie is period film and follows novelist Yeon Heung-Boo. While searching for his older brother, he decides to write a novel about two brothers (played by Kim Ju-Hyeok and Jung Jin-Young). Movie is directed by Cho Keun-Hyun (“26 Years“).
“Heung-Boo: The Revolutionist” will be released February 14, 2018 in South Korea.
Do Kyung-Soo (‘EXO’) and Nam Ji-Hyun have been offered lead roles in new drama series “Hundred Days’ Husband” (literal title). If Do Kyung-Soo accepts, he will play Crown Prince Lee Yool. The Crown Prince disappears for 100 days. If Nam Ji-Hyun accepts, she will play Hong-Sim. Hong-Sim opens the first private detective agency in Joseon. Both performers are “positively considering” their offers. tvN has had preliminary discussions to air the drama series.
Miki Nakatani is cast for the lead role in upcoming TBS drama series “Anata niwa Kaeru Ie ga Aru.” Also cast in major supporting roles are Hiroshi Tamaki, Yusuke Santamaria and Tae Kimura. The drama series is based on 1994 novel “Anata niwa Kaeru Ie ga Aru” by Fumio Yamamoto. In the drama series, Miki Naktani plays housewife Mayumi Sato. Due to financial reasons, she decides to reenter the workforce. Meanwhile, her husband, played by Hiroshi Tamaki, falls for a client played by Tae Kimura.
“Anata niwa Kaeru Ie ga Aru” first airs April, 2018 in Japan.
Here’s the first still images of Woo Do-Hwan and Joy (‘Red Velvet’) from upcoming MBC drama series “Great Seducer.” The still images are from the first day of filming for the drama series which took place late January, 2018 in Paju, Gyeonggi Province. On that day, weather was 15 degrees below freezing and very cold. The scene has Kwon Shi-Hyun (Woo Do-Hwan) holding a flower bouquet and calling out Eun Tae-Hee’s (Joy) name. Eun Tae-Hee stops walking and turns around. “Great Seducer” is based on 18th century French novel “Les Liaisons dangereuses” by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos.

First script reading for MBC drama series “Let’s Hold Hands Tightly and Watch The Sunset” (literal title) took place January 28, 2018 at MBC Broadcasting Station in Sangam, South Korea. Main cast members including Han Hye-Jin, Yoon Sang-Hyun, Yu In-Young and Kim Tae-Hoon attended. The first script reading took about 4 hours to finish. Han Hye-Jin stated prior to the first script reading “I’m excited acting to act again after a long pause. I will work harder.” Yoon Sang-Hyun stated “I will try to make the shooting set enjoyable.”

Chae Shi-Ra is cast for a lead role & Jung Joon-Ho cast for a supporting role in MBC drama series “Parting Left” (literal title). The drama series is based on web novel “Yibyuli Ddeonatda” written by So Jae-Won. In the drama series, Chae Shi-Ra will play a woman who now lives alone after separating from her unfaithful pilot husband. A young woman (casting not yet revealed) moves into her apartment. The young woman is the girlfriend of her son and she is pregnant.
“Parting Left” first airs May, 2018 in South Korea (takes over MBC’s Saturday 8:45 PM time slot currently held by “My Husband Oh Jak-Doo“).
