Dean Fujioka cast in Fuji TV drama series “The Count of Monte Cristo”

Dean Fujioka is cast in Fuji TV drama series “The Count of Monte Cristo.” The drama series is based on classic French novel “Le Comte de Monte-Cristo” by Alexandre Dumas. Also cast in supporting roles are Tadayoshi Okura (‘Kanjani Eight’), Mizuki Yamamoto, Hirofumi Arai and Katsunori Takahashi. In the drama series, Dean Fujioka will play main character Dan Saimon. He is about to marry the love of his life Sumire Meguro (Mizuki Yamamoto), but he is framed by three people and sent to prison. 15 years later, he returns under a different identity to get revenge on the three people who framed him.

“The Count of Monte Cristo” first airs April, 2018.

Teaser trailer #2 for tvN drama series “Live” starring Jung Yu-Mi and Lee Kwang-Soo. The voice-over in teaser 2 has a man asking “Where you stand is always irrational and unfair. Don’t move, not even one step. Can you take it?” Jung Yu-Mi responds with “I will stand to the end viciously. Poor, but fierce life record.” The drama series follows a group of police officers.

Trailer and poster for movie “A Field Day” starring child actress Kim Soo-Ahn. If you look at the poster and think to yourself “Kim Soo-Ahn really doesn’t age much,” well there’s an explanation. The film made its world premiere at the 2016 Jeonju International Film Festival, meaning filming most likely took place back in 2015. Story for “A Field Day” follows a family with its various problems and their drive to succeed. Kim Soo-Ahn plays elementary school student Seung-Hee. She likes a boy, but he likes someone else. Movie is written and directed by Kim Jin-Tae.

“A Field Day” opens sometime this March in South Korea.

Hiromitsu Kitayama, Mikako Tabe & Kokoro Hirasawa cast in live-action film “Tora-san”

Hiromitsu Kitayama (‘Kis-My-Ft2’), Mikako Tabe & Kokoro Hirasawa are cast in live-action film “Tora-san.” The film is based on manga series “Tora san” by Mina Itaba. In the film, Hiromitsu Kitayama plays Suzuo Takahata, Mikako Tabe plays his wife Natsuko Takahata and Kokoro Hirasawa plays their daughter Miyu Takahata. The father is an unsuccessful manga writer and spends most of his time drinking and gambling. He then dies in a car accident, but is given a month to think about his life. He returns to this world as a cat.

“Tora-san” will be released 2019 in Japan.

Story for the drama series follows Hong Se-Yeon (Park Ha-Na) as she is betrayed by people she loves and she then attempts to take revenge.

Yo Oizumi, Manami Honjou and Masaki Okada are cast in movie “Sky’s Restaurant” (literal title). In the film, Yo Oizumi will play main character Wataru. He runs a cattle farm and is married to Kotoe (Manami Honjou). They decide to open a restaurant after tasting a meal prepared by a chef using ingredients they produced. Masaki Okada will play a colleague of Wataru and he is a sheep farmer. Movie is directed by Yoshihiro Fukagawa.

“Sky’s Restaurant” will be released spring, 2019 in Japan.

Teaser trailer for horror film “Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum” starring Wi Ha-Joon, Park Ji-Hyun and Park Sung-Hoon. Movie is directed by Jung Bum-Sik (“The Epitaph“/”Horror Stories“). Story for “Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum” follows 7 people who decide to enter the abandoned Gonjiam Psychiatric Hospital at night and live stream their experience. The psychiatric hospital was a real medical institution that shut down in 1996. In 2013, CNN published a list of the 7 freakiest places on earth which included Gonjiam Psychiatric Hospital.

First script reading for JTBC drama series “Clean With Passion For Now”

First script reading for JTBC drama series “Clean With Passion For Now,” starring Kim You-Jung, Ahn Hyo-Seop and Song Jae-Rim, took place January 30, 2018 at JTBC building in Sangam, Seoul, South Korea. The first script reading took about 4 hours to complete. “Clean With Passion For Now” is based on webcomic “Ildan Ddeugeobge Chungsohara” by Aaengo.

“Clean With Passion For Now” first airs April, 2018 in South Korea (takes over JTBC’s Monday and Tuesday 11PM time slot after “Eulachacha Waikiki“).
