Teaser trailer for JTBC drama series “Pretty Sister Who Buys Me Food”

First teaser traielr added for JTBC drama series “Pretty Sister Who Buys Me Food” (literal title) starring Son Ye-Jin and Jung Hae-In. The voice over in the teaser trailer is of Jung Hae-In and he asks ” … older sister, if I ask you to buy me food tomorrow, will you buy me food?” The catchy song playing in the teaser trailer is cover song “Stand By Your Man” by Carla Bruni. Meanwhile, still images above and below is of Son Ye-Jin and Jung Hae-In together in the drama series.

Aya Ueto cast in TV Tokyo drama special “Midnight Journal”

Aya Ueto is cast for the TV drama special “Midnight Journal” co-starring Yutaka Takenouchi. Drama special is based on novel 2016 novel “Midnight Journal” by Masato Honjo. In “Midnight Journal,” Aya Ueto will play newspaper reporter Yuri Fujise. 7 years earlier, she worked on a serial murder case with fellow reporter Gotaro Sekiguchi (Yutaka Takenouchi), but they made a mistake a report which caused them to be reprimanded. When two more kidnappings take place, they work together to uncover the truth.

“Midnight Journal” will first air March 30, 2018.

Trailer for movie “A Tiger in Winter”

Trailer for movie “A Tiger in Winter” starring Lee Jin-Wook and Ko Hyun-Jung. The pair were starring in currently airing SBS drama series “Return” before Ko Hyun-Jung left the series due to disagreements with the staff from that drama series. Movie “A Tiger in Winter” is written and directed by Lee Kwang-Kuk who has worked apprenticed under Hong Sang-Soo for several of his films and this is Lee Kwang-Kuk’s third directed feature length film.

“A Tiger in Winter” opens sometime this April in South Korea.

Character posters and supporting cast for movie “Gyoza You Can Kiss”

Here’s two character posters for upcoming movie “Gyoza You Can Kiss” (“Kisu Dekiru Gyoza”). The character posters are of main characters Yoko Fujita (Rika Adachi) and Ryo Iwahara (Yukihisa Tamura from ‘Boys and Men’). The film follows a young woman as she attempts to revive her family’s gyoza restaurant.  Also newly announced supporting actors are Hinako Sano, Hiroki Nakajima, Rin Furukawa, Goro Oishi, Yuhi (‘Boys and Men’), Kazuyuki Asano and Yumi Asou.

Release date for “Gyoza You Can Kiss” is now set for June 22, 2018 in Japan.

Hwang Jung-Eum offered lead female role in SBS drama series “Handsome Guy and Jung-Eum”

Hwang Jung-Eum has been offered the lead female role in new SBS drama series “Handsome Guy and Jung-Eum” (literal title). Namgung Min has already received an offer to play the lead male role. Both performers are currently “positively considering” their offers. If Hwang Jung-Eum accepts, she will play appropriately named lead female character Jung-Eum. The drama series will follow the relationship between Hoon-Nam (Namgung Min if he accepts) and Jung-Eum. Hoon-Nam also means handsome guy in Korean.

“Handsome Guy and Jung-Eum” first airs May, 2018 in South Korea (takes over SBS’ Wednesday and Thursday 10PM time slot after “Switch: Change the World“).

Lee Joon-Ho, Jang Hyuk and Jung Ryeo-Won offered lead roles in SBS drama series “Greasy Melo”

Lee Joon-Ho (‘2PM’), Jang Hyuk and Jung Ryeo-Won have been offered lead roles in upcoming SBS drama series “Greasy Melo” (literal title). All three performers are currently “positively considering” the offers. The drama series will be set around a small, failing Chinese restaurant. If Lee Joon-Ho accepts, he will play lead male character Seo Poong. He was once a former star chef, but Seo Poong now works at a floundering Chinese restaurant. If Jang Hyuk accepts, he will play second lead male character Doo Chil-Seo. He owns a building and he was once a gang member. If Jung Ryeo-Won accepts the offer, she will play the lead female character.

“Greasy Melo” first airs April, 2018 in South Korea (takes over SBS’ Monday and Tuesday 10PM time slot after “Should We Kiss First.”).

First script reading for SBS drama series “Switch: Change the World”

First script reading for SBS drama series “Switch: Change the World,” starring Jang Keun-Suk and Han Ye-Ri, took place February 7, 2018 at SBS Ilsan Production Center in Tanhyun, South Korea. Main cast members including Jang Keun-Suk, Han Ye-Ri, Jung Woong-InLee Jung-KilJo Hee-Bong and Shin Do-Hyun all attended. The first script reading took 4 hours to complete. In the drama series, Jang Keun-Suk plays two charactes with compltely different personalities. Sa Do-Chan is a swindler, but smart enough to take the bar exam. Baek Joon-Soo is a prosecutor and abides by legal principle. Han Ye-Ri plays enthusiastic prosecutor Oh Ha-Ra.

“Switch: Change the World” first airs March 28, 2018 in South Korea (takes over SBS’ Wednesday and Thursday 10PM time slot after “Return.”).

Main trailer and poster for movie “Even: Kimi ni Okuru Uta” starring Dori Sakurada. Screenplay is by Erika Yoshida. Story for “Even: Kimi ni Okuru Uta” has popular singer Rin (Jin Shirasu) waking up at the hospital in the body of unpopular indie singer Takehito (Dori Sakurada). They were together when a car crashed into them at night. Now, Rin in the body of Takehito performs with Takehito’s band “Even” and writes a song to his estranged girlfriend Mami (Maya Okano).

“Even: Kimi ni Okuru Uta” will be released June 2, 2018 in Japan.
