Kang Ji-Young cast in movie “Watashino Jinsei Nanoni” + teaser trailer

Kang Ji-Young (ex-Kara member) is cast in new movie “Watashino Jinsei Nanoni.” The film is based on light novel “Watashi no Jinsei Nanoni” by Tomohide Kiyoshi & Kiyuu Azuma. Tomohide Kiyoshi also co-wrote the original manga “Reon” which was adapted into the film “Reon” also starring Kang Ji-Young. In the upcoming film, Kang Ji-Young plays gymnast Mizuho. After falling ill, she is diagnosed with a spinal cord disease and soon becomes paralyzed from the waist down. She then discovers music which helps her start a new path.

In addition, teaser trailer for “Watashino Jinsei Nanoni” is added on AsianWiki. “Watashino Jinsei Nanoni” will be released sometime this summer in Japan.

Namgung Min cast in SBS drama series “Handsome Guy and Jung-Eum”

Namgung Min is cast in upcoming SBS drama series “Handsome Guy and Jung-Eum” (literal title).  For the drama series “Handsome Guy and Jung-Eum,” Namgung Min will play Hoon-Nam. He knows about love well, but he doesn’t want to fall in love. His name also means “handsome guy” in Korean. Meanwhile, actress Hwang Jung-Eum is still considering an offer to play the lead female character.

Filming for “Handsome Guy and Jung-Eum” will begin early April, 2018 and the drama series will start to air May, 2018 in South Korea.

Here’s 4 character posters for MBC drama series “Let’s Hold Hands Tightly and Watch The Sunset.” The 4 character posters are of Han Hye-JinYoon Sang-HyunYu In-Young and Kim Tae-Hoon. Caption on Han Hye-Jin’s poster states “I had someone I liked” and caption on Yoon Sang-Hyun’s poster states “We will keep our promise.” Caption on Yu In-Young’s poster below states “I have a right to have you” and Kim Tae-Hoon’s poster states “I want to save her no matter what.”

Hidetoshi Nishijima and Kuranosuke Sasaki cast in live-action film “Aircraft Carrier Ibuki”

Hidetoshi Nishijima and Kuranosuke Sasaki are cast in live-action film “Aircraft Carrier Ibuki” (literal title). The movie is based on manga “Kuubo Ibuki” by Kaiji Kawaguchi and directed by Setsuro Wakamatsu. Story for “Aircraft Carrier Ibuki” takes place over a 24 hour period with a group of fishing boats in the southernmost part of Japan firing upon and occupying parts of the Hateruma archipelago. The Japanese government sends in the Aircraft Carrier Ibuki in response. Hidetoshi Nishijima will play Ryota Akitsu. He is the captain of the Aircraft Carrier Ibuki. Kuranosuke Sasaki will play second-in-command Toshiya Niinami.

Filming for “Aircraft Carrier Ibuki” begins March, 2018 and the movie will be released sometime next year in Japan.

“Welcome to Waikiki” extended from 16 to 20 episodes

Currently airing JTBC drama series “Welcome to Waikiki” has been extended from its originally planned 16 episodes to 20 episodes. The drama series has become popular with its fun story line following three men who run a guest house in Itaewon. Main cast members of Kim Jung-Hyun, Lee Yi-Kyung, Son Seung-Won, Jung In-Sun, Go Won-Hee and Lee Joo-Woo were relatively unknown prior to “Welcome to Waikiki.”

Meanwhile, “Welcome to Waikiki” will delay airing ep.11 and ep.12 from March 12th and March 13th to March 19th and March 20th respectively. The one week delay is to give the staff and cast members more time to complete filming. On March 12th and March 13th, JTBC will air a special behind the scenes of “Welcome to Waikiki” with behind the scenes footage and commentary by the performers.

Lee Dong-Gun cast in JTBC drama series “Sketch”

Lee Dong-Gun is cast for the second lead male role in JTBC drama series “Sketch” starring Rain. In the drama series, Lee Dong-Gun will play Kim Do-Jin. He is a special forces member. Casting for the lead female role has yet to be announced, though Hwang Jung-Eum was first offered the lead female role and declined. This is Lee Dong-Gun’s first acting role since his wife Jo Yoon-Hee gave birth to their first child on December 14, 2017.

“Sketch” will first around around May, 2018 in South Korea.

Takeru Satoh cast in movie “Million Dollar Man”

Takeru Satoh is cast for the lead role in movie “Million Dollar Man.” Also cast in supporting roles are Issei Takahashi, Tatsuya Fujiwara, Kazuki Kitamura, Erika Sawajiri and Elaiza Ikeda. The film is based on movie producer Genki Kawamura second published novel “Oku Otoko.” His first novel “Sekai kara Neko ga Kieta nara” was adapted into 2016 movie “If Cats Disappeared From the World” which also starred Takeru Satoh. Story for “Million Dollar Man” follows a young man (Takeru Satoh) desperate for money and he wins the lottery, but his friend (Issei Takahashi) then steals his money. Movie is directed by Keishi Ohtomo (“Rurouni Kenshin“).

“Million Dollar Man” will be released October 19, 2018 in Japan.

Anne Nakamura, Yuki Furukawa and Ryohei Otani cast in NTV live-action drama series “Love Rerun”

Anne Nakamura, Yuki Furukawa and Ryohei Otani are cast in NTV live-action drama series “Love Rerun.” The drama series is based on manga “Love Rerun” by Aki Amasawa. For the drama series, Anne Nakamura will play main character Sayaka Minami. She is 30 years old, but has not experienced love due to years of having unrequited love for Ryosuke Sagisawa (Ryohei Otani). One morning, she wakes up in the bed of a co-worker (Yuki Furukawa) she barely knows. He tells her that they are dating and they live together. Apparently,  Sayaka Minami has memory loss.

“Love Rerun” first airs April 5, 2018 in Japan.
