Shin Hae-Sun & Lee Jun-Hyuk cast in Netflix drama “The Art of Sarah”

Shin Hae-Sun and Lee Jun-Hyuk are cast in Netflix drama series “The Art of Sarah” (working English title). The mystery drama series has Shin Hae-Sun playing title character Sarah Kim. Her name is well known, but she remains a mysterious person and rarely seen. She works as the president of the Asia branch for a luxury brand. Lee Jun-Hyuk will play Mu-Kyeong. He is a detective and investigates a murder case. The drama series will be directed by Kim Jin-Min (“Goodbye Earth“).

Release date for “The Art of Sarah” has not yet been announced.

Teaser trailer 3 added for KBS2 drama series “KickKickKickKick” starring Ji Jin-Hee & Lee Kyoo-Hyung. The drama series revolves around production company KickKickKickKick run by Ji Jin-Hee (Ji Jin-Hee) and Jo Young-Sik (Lee Kyoo-Hyung). Narration in the teaser trailer has Ji Jin-Hee stating (0:07) “Thanks for your support, we established production company” and (0:09) Ji Jin-Hee “The company’s name is KickKickKickKick.”

“KickKickKickKick” first airs February 5, 2025 in South Korea (takes over KBS2’s Wednesday & Thursday 9:50 PM time slot after “Who Is She“).

Yuki Yamada, Sairi Itoh, Shota Sometani, and Atsuro Watabe cast in movie “Bakudan.” The mystery-suspense film is based on 2022 novel “Bakudan” by Katsuhiro Go and directed by Akira Nagai (“After the Rain“). The film will have Yuki Yamada play lead character Ruike. He works for the Metropolitan Police Department. A man is brought to a station and predicts that 3 bomb explosions will occur in Tokyo, one hour apart from each other. He predicts that the first bomb will explode in Akihabara. After a bomb actually explodes in Akihabara, Ruike tries to solve the case. Sairi Itoh, Shota Sometani, and Atsuro Watabe will all play police officers who try help solve the case.

“Bakudan” will be released sometime this year in Japan.

Character posters and air date set for ENA drama series “Riding Life” (literal title) starring Jeon Hye-Jin & Jo Min-Soo. The character posters are of Jeon Hye-Jin as working mom Lee Jung-Eun, Jo Min-Soo as Lee Jung-Eun’s mom Yoon Ji-A, and child actress Kim Sa-Rang as Lee Jung-Eun’s daughter Hong Seo-Yoon. The revenge themed drama series features Park Hyung-Sik and Heo Jun-Ho face off as enemies. The teaser trailer begins with Park Hyung-Sik stating “Wait, I’ll give it all back. Chairperson Cha Gang-Cheon of Daesan Group doesn’t have an heir. Woo Do-Hwan, Lee Sang-Yi, & Rain cast in Netflix drama “Bloodhounds Season 2.”

Woo Do-Hwan, Lee Sang-Yi, & Rain are cast in Netflix drama series “Bloodhounds Season 2.” The drama series is based on webcomic “Sanyanggaedeul” by Jung Chan and follows 2023 Netflix drama series “Bloodhounds.” Woo Do-Hwan and Lee Sang-Yi will reprise their roles of Kim Gun-Woo and Hong Woo-Jin. They play good friends and return to the boxing ring for the sequel. Rain will play his first villain character for the drama series. His character Baek Jung runs an illegal underground gambling/boxing ring and tries to recruit Kim Gun-Woo.

Release date for “Bloodhounds Season 2” has not yet been announced.

Kentaro Sakaguchi & Ken Watanabe cast in movie “The Sunflower on the Shogi Board”

Kentaro Sakaguchi and Ken Watanabe are cast in movie “The Sunflower on the Shogi Board.” The film is based on 2017 novel “Banjo no Himawari” by Yuko Yuzuki (“The Blood of Wolves“), which was previously adapted into 2019 NHK drama series “The Sunflower on the Shogi Board.” The film starts off with a skeleton and a rare shogi game piece found buried on a mountain. The owner of the rare shogi game is Keisuke Kamijo (Kentaro Sakaguchi), who becomes a suspect. The first teaser trailer for the movie has also been added on AsianWiki.

“The Sunflower on the Shogi Board” will be released October 31, 2025 in Japan.
