Osamu Mukai cast in WOWOW drama series “Pandora IV AI War”

Osamu Mukai is cast for the lead role in WOWOW drama series “Pandora IV AI War” (“Pandora IV AI Senso”). Also cast in supporting roles are Hitomi Kuroki, Mimura, Takahiro Miura, Koji Yamamoto, Taizo Harada and Atsuro Watabe. The drama series features a medical-technology suspense themed story scripted by Yumiko Inoue and directed by Shunsaku Kawake & Shosuke Murakami. Osamu Mukai will play Tetsuro Suzuki. He works at a medical center run by a tech company and has developed AI technology to diagnose humans.

“Pandora IV AI War” first airs November 11, 2018 in Japan.

Ryoko Yonekura cast in TV Asahi drama series “Legal V”

Ryoko Yonekura is cast in new TV Asahi drama series “Legal V.” In drama series “Legal V,” Ryoko Yonekura will play main character Shoko Takanashi. Her character was once a lawyer, but she was disbarred. She then gets a professor with a law degree, to open an office. She hires an attorney and a paralegal and they work together as a team on legal cases.

“Legal V” first airs October, 2018 in Japan.

Yeo Jin-Goo & Lee Se-Young cast in tvN drama series “Masquerade”

Yeo Jin-Goo and Lee Se-Young are cast in upcoming tvN drama series “Masquerade.” The drama series is a remake of 2012 movie “Masquerade” starring Lee Byung-Hun and Han Hyo-Joo. For the drama series version, Yeo Jin-Goo will play dual roles of King Lee Hun and Clown Ha Sun. Because the King and the clown look so similar, the clown is brought to the palace to fill in for the King as potential assassination attempts on the King brew. Lee Se-Young will play the role of Queen Yoo So-Woon. The clown, who is filling in for the King, falls for the Queen.

“Masquerade” will first air January, 2019 in South Korea.

Main trailer and main poster for movie “Our Departures”

Main trailer and main poster added for upcoming movie “Our Departures” starring Kasumi Arimura and Jun Kunimura. Movie is the third film in the “Railways” following 2010 film “Railways” and 2011 film “Crossroads.” Each film has different characters and stories, but revolve around trains. In “Our Departures,” Kasumi Arimura plays a young widow and attempts to become a train driver. Movie is directed by Yasuhiro Yoshida.

“Our Departures” will be released November 30, 2018 in Japan.

English subtitled teaser trailer for movie “The Soul-Mate”

English subtitled teaser trailer added for upcoming supernatural-comedy-drama film “The Soul-Mate” starring Ma Dong-Seok, Kim Young-Kwang and Lee Yoo-Young. The film actually has two English titles. The movie will be released in South Korea with the title of “Wonderful Ghost,” but released internationally as “The Soul-Mate.” Story follows a gym owner (Ma Dong-Seok) who sees a young man at the hospital. That young man was a police officer (Kim Young-Kwang), but is now a ghost.

“The Soul-Mate” will be released September 26, 2018 in South Korea.

Kenichi Endo cast in WOWOW drama series “Kenichi Endo to Kankuro Kudo no Benkyo Sasete Itadakimasu”

Kenichi Endo is cast in new WOWOW drama series “Kenichi Endo to Kankuro Kudo no Benkyo Sasete Itadakimasu.” The drama series is scripted by Kankuro Kudo. In the drama series, Kenichi Endo will play himself. He performs in a suspense drama series as Detective Moroi. In addition, a teaser trailer for the drama series has been added on AsianWiki.

First script reading for drama series “So I Married an Anti-Fan”

First script reading for upcoming drama series “So I Married an Anti-Fan” took place August 20, 2018. At the first script reading, main cast members Choi Tae-Joon, Sooyoung (‘Girls’ Generation’), Chansung (‘2PM’ member), Han Ji-An and Kim Min-Kyu all attended. Before the first script reading began, Director Kang Cheol-Woo stated “Preparation for the drama series took longer than other drama series. I think that was to let me work with such good actors and actresses. Let’s do our best to make a fun drama series.”

Meanwhile,  Warner Brothers Korea takes part in the production as an investor and co-producer for the drama series. Exact broadcasting station and air dates have yet to be disclosed. Tentatively, the drama series will air in about 160 countries around the same time as it does in South Korea.

Yuko Araki cast in Fuji TV drama series “Suits”

Yuko Araki is cast in Fuji TV drama series “Suits” starring Yuji Oda,Yuto Nakajima and Honami Suzuki. Yuko Araki will play supporting character Makoto Hijirisawa. Her character works as a paralegal at a law firm. She was not able to become a lawyer which was her dream, but she is quite good at her job. The drama series is a remake of U.S. cable TV series “Suits” which first aired on USA Networks in 2011.

“Suits” first airs October, 2018 in Japan.
