Teaser poster for movie “Bicycle King Uhm Bok-Dong”

Teaser poster added for upcoming movie “Bicycle King Uhm Bok-Dong” (literal title) starring Rain, Kang So-Ra and Lee Beom-Soo. Movie’s early literal title was just “Uhm Bok-Dong.” Caption on the teaser poster states in Korean “Japanese colonial era, there was a Korean and Japanese match with more passion than ever.” The film features Rain playing title character and real life person Uhm Bok-Dong. He competes in a bicycle match against Japanese cyclists during the Japanese colonial rule era. Kang So-Ra plays Korean independence fighter Kim Hyung-Shin.

“Bicycle King Uhm Bok-Dong” will be released February, 2019 in South Korea.

Ep.1 trailer for MBC drama series “Blessing of the Sea”

Ep.1 trailer added for upcoming MBC weekday evening drama series “Blessing of the Sea” (English title) starring Lee So-Yeon, Jae Hee, Jo An and Kim Hyung-Min. Drama series is based on Korean folk tale “The Tale of Shim Chong,” but set in the present days. In addition, here are three posters for the upcoming drama series. The caption in Korean on the posters asks and states “”What color is your world? Modern version Shim Chong story of different color.”

“Blessing of the Sea” first airs Monday, January 14, 2019 in South Korea.

Sayaka Yamaguchi cast in Fuji TV-Tokai TV drama series “Absolute Justice”

Sayaka Yamaguchi is cast in Fuji TV-Tokai TV drama series “Absolute Justice” (literal title). The drama series is based on 2016 novel “Zettai Seigi” by Rikako Akiyoshi. Rikako Akiyoshi also wrote novel “Ankoku Joshi” which was adapted into movie “The Dark Maidens.” The drama series will be directed by Masaki Nishiura and screenplay by Kosuke Nishi. Sayaka Yamaguchi will play main character Noriko Takanori.

“Absolute Justice” first airs February 2, 2019 in Japan.

Park Se-Young cast in MBC drama series “Special Labor Inspector Jo Jang-Poong”

Park Se-Young is cast in MBC drama series “Special Labor Inspector Jo Jang-Poong” (literal title) co-starring Kim Dong-Wook. For the drama series, Park Se-Young will play lead female character Joo Mi-Ran. She is a detective and a former judo athlete. She is also the ex-wife of Jo Jin-Gab (Kim Dong-Wook) and they have a child. They get involved in a case together after Jo Jin-Gab works as a labor inspector.

“Special Labor Inspector Jo Jang-Poong” first airs April, 2019 (takes over MBC’s Monday & Tuesday 10PM time slot after “Item“).

Joe Odagiri & Kumiko Aso cast in TV Asahi drama series “Time Limit Investigator 2019”

Joe Odagiri & Kumiko Aso are cast in TV Asahi drama series “Time Limit Investigator 2019” (working title). Joe Odagiri and Kimiko Aso will reprise their roles of Shuichiro Kiriyama and Shizuka Mikazuki which they previously played in 2006 TV Asahi drama series “Time Limit Investigator” and 2007 TV Asahi drama series “Time Limit Investigator, Season 2.” Satoshi Miki will also return to direct & write the screenplay for the drama series.

“Time Limit Investigator 2019” will air sometime this year in Japan.

Lee Yi-Kyung cast in JTBC drama series “Welcome to Waikiki Season 2”

Lee Yi-Kyung is cast in upcoming JTBC drama series “Welcome to Waikiki Season 2.” He will reprise his character of Lee Joon-Ki from season 1. The character of Lee Joon-Ki is scripted as being an unpopular actor. He has a bright personality, but he makes unintended trouble.

Lee Yi-Kyung will be the only main cast member from season 1 to appear in season 2. Kim Jung-Hyun, Son Seung-Won, Jung In-Sun and Lee Joo-Woo in particular will not appear in the sequel. Ahn So-Hee, Shin Hyun-Soo, Mun Ka-Young and Kim Sun-Ho  have all been offered roles in the sequel drama series and are considering.

“Welcome to Waikiki Season 2” will first air sometime during the first half of 2019 in South Korea.

Teaser trailer #2 for OCN drama series “Possessed”

Teaser trailer #2 added for OCN comedy-supernatural-thriller drama series “Possessed” starring Song Sae-Byeok and Koh Joon-Hee. Personally for me, seeing Koh Joon-Hee appear in the teaser trailer while rocking an Ozzy Osbourne tshirt made my day. The teaser trailer starts off with Song Sae-Byeok’s narration of “When we investigate with fact…” Then, around 11 second mark, Koh Joon-Hee asks “What are you Detective Kang doing here?” Song Sae-Byeok replies “Can’t you see? I am catching a criminal.” It then appears that the criminal is actually a broom. Meanwhile, below are the first still images of Song Sae-Byeok as Kang Pil-Sung and Koh Joon-Hee as Hong Seo-Jung.

“Possessed” first airs February 13, 2019 in South Korea.

Ji Jin-Hee cast in tvN drama series “Designated Survivor”

Ji Jin-Hee is now cast for the lead role in upcoming tvN drama series “Designated Survivor” (literal title). Drama series is a remake of U.S. television series “Designated Survivor.” The screenplay will have Ji Jin-Hee playing Park Moo-Jin. He doesn’t hold much interest in politics, but he sits in the Minister of Environment position. Everything changes when an explosion kills all the higher level government officials and he becomes the temporary President of South Korea. Actress Kang Han-Na is still considering an offer to play the lead female role.

“Designated Survivor” will air sometime during the first half of this year in South Korea.
