SBS drama series “The Last Empress” extended to 52 episodes

Popular SBS drama series “The Last Empress,” starring Jang Na-Ra and Choi Jin-Hyuk, has been extended from 48 episodes to 52 episodes. Ratings for the drama series has been quite high, which gave the impetus to the staff to add 4 more episodes and tell a better ending story. The drama series was originally scheduled to end on February 14, 2019, but it will not finish on February 21, 2019. Consequently, Drama series “Big Issue” will now premiere on March 6, 2019 in the Wednesday and Thursday 10PM time slot for SBS.

Main trailer for movie “Svaha: The Sixth Finger”

Main trailer for mystery-thriller film “Svaha: The Sixth Finger” starring Lee Jung-Jae, Park Jung-Min, Lee Jae-In and Jung Jin-Young. The film is directed by Jang Jae-Hyun. His first film “The Priests” followed two priests as they try save the life of a young woman through an exorcism. This time around “Svaha: The Sixth Finger,” follows Pastor Park (Lee Jung-Jae) as he looks into the mysterious cult group Deer Mount.

“Svaha: The Sixth Finger” will be released February 20, 2019 in South Korea.

Kiichi Nakai, Kuranosuke Sasaki and Ryoko Hirosue cast in sequel film “We Make Antiques 2”

Kiichi Nakai, Kuranosuke Sasaki and Ryoko Hirosue are cast in sequel film “We Make Antiques 2.” The film is a sequel to 2018 movie “We Make Antiques.” Kiichi Nakai and Kuranosuke Sasaki will reprise their main character roles of Norio Koike and Sasuke Noda. Ryoko Hirosue will play new character Shino. Filming will begin mid-Febraury, 2019 and Masaharu Take will return to direct the sequel film.

“We Make Antiques 2” will be released January, 2020 in Japan.

Teaser posters and first still images for movie “Money”

Here’s two teaser posters and the first 10 still images for upcoming crime film “Money” starring Ryoo Joon-Yeol and Yoo Ji-Tae. Caption on the poster above asks in Korean “If you can make money ordinarily, can you become rich?” Caption on the poster below states in Korean “I want to be rich!”

Story for “Money” is set in the stock market world with Ryoo Joon-Yeol playing rookie stock broker Il-Hyun. He is approached by a shadowy figure played by Yoo Ji-Tae. Movie is directed by first time feature film director Park Noo-Ri.

“Money” will be released March, 2019 in South Korea.

Junichi Okada, Kou Shibasaki, Ryohei Suzuki, Ryosuke Yamada and Hideaki Ito cast in movie “Moeyo Ken”

Junichi Okada (‘V6’) is cast for the lead role in movie “Moeyo Ken.” Also cast in supporting roles are Kou Shibasaki, Ryohei Suzuki, Ryosuke Yamada (‘Hey! Say! JUMP’) and Hideaki Ito. The film is based on novel “Moeyo Ken” by Ryotaro Shiba which was previously adapted into a 1966 film version and 1970 drama series version. Masato Harada will direct the film and write the screenplay adaptation. In the film, Junichi Okada will play main character Toshizo Hijikata. He was a real life person and was the vice-commander of the Shinsengumi. Filming for “Moeyo Ken” will take place from February, 2019 to April, 2019 in Kyoto, Shiga and Okayama.

“Moeyo Ken” will be released sometime during 2020 in Japan.

Ahn Hyo-Seop cast in tvN drama series “Abyss”

Ahn Hyo-Seop is cast for the lead male role in upcoming tvN drama series “Abyss” co-starring Park Bo-Young. For the drama series, Ahn Hyo-Seop will play Cha Min. He gets into an accident and dies. A mysterious bead called Abyss then revives him, but he gets a different appearance. He changes from an unattractive guy to a handsome guy. He begins work at a law firm with Ko Se-Yeon (Park Bo-Young).

“Abyss” will air sometime during the first half of this year in South Korea.

Fumi Nikaido, Kazuya Kamenashi & Yosuke Eguchi cast in Fuji TV drama series “Strawberry Night Saga”

Fumi Nikaido, Kazuya Kamenashi & Yosuke Eguchi are cast in Fuji TV drama series “Strawberry Night Saga.” The drama series is based on the novel “Himekawa Reiko Series” by Tetsuya Honda. Fumi Nikaido & Kazuya Kamenashi will play main characters Reiko Himekawa and Kazuo Kikuta. Reiko Himekawa leads a murder investigation team at the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department and Kazuo Kikuta is a detective that joins the investigation team. Yosuke Eguchi will play supporting character Kensaku Katsumata.

“Strawberry Night Saga” follows 2010 Fuji TV drama special “Strawberry Night” and 2012 Fuji TV drama series “Strawberry Night” and 2013 movie “Strawberry Night” which are also based on novels in the same novel series by Tetsuya Honda. In the prior versions, Yuko Takeuchi, Hidetoshi Nishijima and Tetsuya Takeda played the respective characters that Fumi Nikaido, Kazuya Kamenashi & Yosuke Eguchi will portray in the new drama series.

“Strawberry Night Saga” first airs April, 2019 in Japan.

Teaser trailers #4,#5,#6 added for upcoming tvN drama series “He is Psychometric” starring Jin Young, Shin Ye-Eun, Kim Kwon and Kim Da-Som. Teaser trailer #6 introduces all four of the main characters who are Lee (Jin Young) with psychometric powers, Police Officer Yoon Jae-In (Shin Ye-Eun), Prosecutor Kang Sung-Mo (Kim Kwon) and Detective Eun Ji-Soo (Kim Da-Som).
