First script reading for MBC drama series “King Loves”

First script reading for MBC drama series “King Loves,” starring Siwan (‘ZE:A’), Yoona (‘Girls’ Generation’) & Hong Jong-Hyun, took place December 21, 2016 at MBC Broadcasting Station in Sangam, South Korea.

“King Loves” is set in a historical period. Siwan plays Wang Won who is the first mixed-blood king in Kingdom of Goryeo. He has a beautiful appearance and kind heart, but he also holds a twisted lust for conquest. Yoona plays Eun San. She is the only daughter of the wealthiest man in Kingdom of Goryeo. She captivates both Wang Won and his best friend Wang Rin (Hong Jong-Hyun). The relationship between Wang Won, Eun San and Wang Rin leads to collapse.

Air date for “King Loves” has yet to be decided.

First adult script reading for MBC drama series “Rebel: Thief Who Stole the People”

The first script reading for MBC drama series “Rebel: Thief Who Stole the People” involving the adult main characters took place December 30, 2016 at MBC Broadcasting Station in Sangam, South Korea. Main cast members including Yoon Gyun-Sang, Chae Soo-Bin, Lee Ha-Nui,Kim Ji-Suk, & Kim Sang-Joong all attended. An earlier script reading involved the child actors who will portray the younger versions of the main characters.

Meanwhile, first day of filming for Yoon Gyun-Sang actually began December 28, 2016 around Hwangmae Mountain in Gyeongsangnam Province, South Korea. He filmed scenes with Kim Ji-Suk.

“Rebel: Thief Who Stole the People” first airs January 30, 2017 in South Korea.

Sung Joon cast in KBS2 drama series “Perfect Wife”

Sung Joon is cast for the lead male role in upcoming KBS2 drama series “Perfect Wife” starring Ko So-Young, Yoon Sang-Hyun & Cho Yeo-Jeong.

In drama series “Perfect Wife,” Sung Joon will play Kang Bong-Goo. He is an attractive lawyer who comes from a poor family background. He wants to enter high society by marrying a rich woman, but he becomes involved with Sim Jae-Bok (Ko So-Young).

First script reading for “Perfect Wife” will take place January 10, 2017 at the KBS Annex Building in Yeuido, Seoul.

Nam Joo-Hyuk offered lead male role in tvN drama series “Bride of the Water God 2017”

Nam Joo-Hyuk has been offered the lead male role in upcoming tvN drama series “Bride of the Water God 2017” (literal and working title). Currently, Nam Joo-Hyuk is positively considering the offer. If he accepts, Nam Joo-Hyuk will play water god Ha Baek.

The drama series is loosely based on webcomic “Habaekui Shinboo” by Yoon Mi-Kyung, but the time period is changed from a historical setting to the present day. Kim Byung-Soo (“Nine: Nine Times Time Travel“) will direct the drama series and Jung Yoon-Jung (“Misaeng“) will write the screenplay adaptation.

Lee Sung-Yeol (‘INFINITE’) and Lee Ye-Hyun cast in drama special “Cold Case Provisional Task Force”

Lee Sung-Yeol (‘INFINITE’) and Lee Ye-Hyun are cast in new drama special “Cold Case Provisional Task Force” (literal title). Lee Ye-Hyun is a rookie actress. Story for the drama special has Lee Sung-Yeol playing an aspiring detective with dyslexia. He becomes the first intern detective. Meanwhile, Lee Ye-Hyun plays a former soccer athlete turned intern reporter. She gets fired from her job though. The two characters then team up on a case.

Filming for “Cold Case Provisional Task Force” will begin this month in South Korea. Exact network or air date for the drama special has yet to be announced.

First still images of Lee Joon-Ho in KBS2 drama series “Chief Kim”

Here’s the first still images of Lee Joon-Ho (‘2PM’) in upcoming KBS2 drama series “Chief Kim” starring Namgung Min & Nam Sang-Mi. The still images are from a scene filmed on December 28, 2016 at a set in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. In the drama series, Lee Joon-Ho plays Seo Yool. His character works as a prosecutor, but he is scouted for company TQ. He begins to work there as a finance director. First teaser trailer has also been added.

“Chief Kim” first airs January 25, 2017 in South Korea.
