Jung Woo-Yeon & Jae Hee cast in MBC drama “Be a Meal”

Jung Woo-Yeon and Jae Hee are cast for lead roles in MBC weekday drama series “Be a Meal” (literal title). For Jung-Woo-Yeon, she previously worked under her birth name of Ryu Hyo-Young and this is her first time working under her new stage name. The drama series will have Jung Woo-Yeon playing a woman who has a natural talent for cooking traditional royal cuisine.

“Be a Meal” will first air January, 2021 (takes over MBC’s Monday – Friday 7:20 AM time slot after “My Wonderful Life“).

First script reading for Kakao TV drama”City Couple’s Way of Love”

First script reading for Kakao TV drama series “City Couple’s Way of Love: My Lovely Camera Thief” (literal title), starring Ji Chang-Wook & Kim Ji-Won, took place September, 2020 in South Korea. The first script reading included director Park Shin-Woo, screenwriter Jung Hyun-Jung, Ji Chang-Wook, Kim Ji-Won, Kim Min-Suk, Ryoo Kyung-Soo, and So Ju-Yeon. Filming then began a few days later and some scenes were filmed in Jeju Island.

“City Couple’s Way of Love: My Lovely Camera Thief” is now set to stream on Kakao TV starting December, 2020 in South Korea.

Kim Nam-Gil offered role in OCN drama “Island”

Kim Nam-Gil has been offered the lead male role in OCN drama series “Island.” Actress Seo Yea-Ji has already received an offer to play the lead female role. Currently, both performers are considering their offers. If Kim Nam-Gil accepts his offer, he will play Ban. His character is a mysterious ghost hunter with a sexy appearance. He is also violent and cruel.

“Island” will air sometime during the first half of 2021 in South Korea.

First teaser trailer for KBS drama “If I Cheat, I Die”

First teaser trailer added for KBS drama series “If I Cheat, I Die” (literal title) starring Cho Yeo-Jeong & Go Joon. The teaser trailer is a short 18 second clip, filmed in portrait mode, with the two main characters of Kang Yeo-Joo (Cho Yeo-Jeong) and Han Woo-Sung (Go Joon) taking a selfie together. Around the 3 second mark, a text message pops up from a third person that asks “Honey, what are you doing?” and at the 9 second mark, Go Joon nervously makes the excuse of “(That’s) Grandma… grandma.. my old nickname was honey.” Meanwhile, above and below are three teaser posters for the drama series.

Choi Min-Sik offered lead role in drama series “Casino”

Actor Choi Min-Sik has been offered the lead role in drama series “Casino.” Currently, Choi Min-Sik is positively considering the offer. The award winning actor last worked in a drama series in 1997-1998 MBC drama series “Love and Parting.” The drama series will be directed and scripted by Kang Yoon-Sung, best known for directing box-office hit “The Outlaws.”

Filming will begin sometime next and it will also air next year, but exact network has not yet been decided.

Gianna Jun cast in Netflix drama “Kingdom: Ashin of the North”

Gianna Jun is cast in Netflix drama “Kingdom: Ashin of the North.” Gianna Jun appeared at the end of the final episode of “Kingdom Season 2” as Ashin. “Kingdom: Ashin of the North” will feature an original screenplay, but based on webcomic “Burning Hell Shinui Nara” by Kim Eun-Hee. Also cast for the title is Park Byung-Eun. He will reprise his role of Min Chi-Rok. A brief teaser trailer for the new Kingdom title has also been added on AsianWiki. How many episodes will consist for “Kingdom: Ashin of the North” has not yet been revealed.

“Kingdom: Ashin of the North” will be available to stream on Netflix sometime next year.
