Lee Yoo-Mi, Kim Jung-Eun, Ong Seong-Wu cast in drama series “Strong Girl Nam-Soon”

Lee Yoo-Mi, Kim Jung-Eun, Kim Hae-Sook, Ong Seong-Wu, and Byeon Woo-Seok are cast in drama series “Strong Girl Nam-Soon.” The title character Kang Nam-Soon, played by Lee Yoo-Mi, is scripted as a cousin of Do Bong-Soon from 2017 JTBC drama series “Strong Girl Bong-Soon.” Like Do Bong-Soon from the JTBC drama series, Kang Nam-Soon was born with superhuman strength. She comes to Korea to find her mother and also gets involved in a drug case that takes place in Gangnam, Seoul. Kim Jung-Eun will play the mother and Kim Hae-Sook the grandmother. All three of the woman have superhuman strength.

Filming for the drama series is scheduled to begin summer, 2022 and the drama series is expected to air/stream sometime in the first half of 2023.

Chun Woo-Hee cast in drama “Money Game”

Chun Woo-Hee is cast for the lead female role in drama series “Money Game” co-starring Ryoo Joon-Yeol & Park Jung-Min. She replaces singer-actress IU, who had to drop out due to scheduling issues. Filming for the drama series is scheduled to begin in the middle of June, 2022. Drama series is based on webcomics “Money Game” and “Pi Game” by Bae Jin-Soo.

“Money Game” is expected to be released via an OTT platform, but exact details has not yet been announced.

Joy cast in Kakao TV drama “Accidental Country Diary”

Joy (Red Velvet) is cast in Kakao TV drama series “Accidental Country Diary” (literal title) co-starring Choo Yeong-Woo. The drama series is based on web novel “Eojjeodaga Jeonwonilgi” by Park Ha-Min. For “Accidental Country Diary,” Joy will play An Ja-Young. She works as a police officer at a police substation in Heedong Village. She develops feelings for Han Ji-Yool (Choo Yeong-Woo), who suddenly appears in the rural village.

“Accidental Country Diary” will be available to stream sometime later this year in South Korea.

Kim Dong-Wook & Jin Ki-Joo cast in KBS2 drama “Met You By Chance”

Kim Dong-Wook & Jin Ki-Joo are cast in KBS2 drama series “Met You By Chance” (literal title). In the drama series Kim Dong-Wook will play Yoon Hae-Joon. He works as an achorman on a local TV channel. Jin Ki-Joo will play Baek Yoon-Young. She works for a publishing company. The two main characters then travel back in time to the year 1987. They have two different goals while in the year 1987, but they realize they are connected.

“Met You By Chance” will air sometime later this year in South Korea.

Teaser poster for Watcha drama series “Ultimate Weapon Alice” (literal title) starring Park Se-Wan & Song Geon-Hee. The drama series also has Lee Byeong-Hun (“Extreme Job“) participating as a director and screenwriter. This is his second drama series work after 2019 JTBC drama series “Be Melodramatic.” Caption on the teaser poster states “Thought it was pink. No, it was blood-red.”

Kim Min-Kyu cast in drama “Pontifex Lembrary”

Kim Min-Kyu is cast in drama series “Pontifex Lembrary” (literal title). The drama series is based on web novel “Sungseureowoon Idol” by Shin Hwa-Jin. The fantasy themed drama series will have Kim Min-Kyu play Pontifex Lembrary. While he fights against a devil, he somehow transfers into the body of an unpopular idol group member named Woo Yeon-Woo. The group suddenly becomes popular because of Woo Yeon-Woo, who is possessed by Pontifex Lembrary..

“Pontifex Lembrary” is expected to be released sometime in the first half of next year.

Teaser trailer for Netflix drama “Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area”

2nd teaser trailer added for Netflix drama series “Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area” starring Yoo Ji-Tae, Kim Yunjin, & Park Hae-Soo. The drama series is a remake of Spanish TV series “La casa de papel” (“Money Heist”). The 2nd teaser trailer features footage from the drama series for the first time as it shows that the two Koreas have decided to operate under a common economic union, but only the rich have benefited. A group of people than prepare to take part in the single largest heist ever.

“Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area” will be released June 24, 2022 on Netflix.
