Teaser trailer & poster for movie “Insomniacs After School”

Teaser trailer and poster added for live-action film “Insomniacs After School” starring Nana Mori and Daiken Okudaira. The movie is based on manga series “Kimi wa Hokago Insomnia” by Makoto Ojiro and directed by Chihiro Ikeda (“Memory’s Technique“). The film follows two high school students who meet in an abandoned astronomy observatory and both suffer from insomnia. Caption for the teaser poster states “A secret that they couldn’t tell anyone connects two people.”

“Insomniacs After School” will be released June, 2023 in Japan.

Kentaro Sakaguchi cast in movie “Side By Side”

Kentaro Sakaguchi, Asuka Saito, Mikako Ichikawa, and Kodai Asaka are cast in movie “Side By Side.” The film is written and directed by Chihiro Ito, who has previously collaborated with Isao Yukisada as a screenwriter for several of his films including “Crying Out Love, in the Center of the World” and “Closed Note.” Isao Yukisada is also credited as a producer for “Side By Side.” The movie “Side By Side” will mix drama and fantasy genres, following a young man played by Kentaro Sakaguchi who is able to see the thoughts of other people.

“Side By Side” will be released April 14, 2023 in Japan.

Second teaser trailer for movie “Tokyo Revengers 2 Part 1”

Second teaser trailer added for movie “Tokyo Revengers 2 Part 1” starring Takumi Kitamura, Yuki Yamada, & Yosuke Sugino. The second teaser trailer introduces newly announced cast members Kento NagayamaNijiro Murakami and Mahiro Takasugi. These three actors will play new characters for the sequel film. Kento Nagayama will play Keisuke Baji, who is one of founding members of Tokyo Manjikai. Nijiro Murakami will play Kazutora Hanemiya. He is one of the founding members of Tokyo Manjikai and then No.3 of delinquent group Baruhara which is hostile to Tokyo Manjikai. Lastly, Mahiro Takasugi will play Chifuyu Matsuno who is a member of Tokyo Manjikai.

“Tokyo Revengers 2 Part 1” is now set for release April 21, 2023 in Japan and its follow up film “Tokyo Revengers 2 Part 2” will be released June 30, 2023.

Ayame Goriki cast in movie “Detective of Joshidaikoji”

Ayame Goriki is cast in movie “Detective of Joshidaikoji” (literal title). The film is based on 2021 novel “Jyoshidaikoji no Meitantei” by Takehiko Hata (“Unfair“). For the film, Ayama Goriki will play lead character Mio Hironaka. She works as a hostess, but teams up with her brother, who works as a detective, to tackle a serious crime case. Originally, Yuika Motokariya was cast to play Mio Hironaka, but she had to drop out due to health issues.

“Detective of Joshidaikoji” will be released sometime later this year in Japan.

Sakura Ando & Eita Nagayama cast in movie “Monster”

Sakura Ando & Eita Nagayama cast in Hirokazu Koreeda directed film “Monster.” Also cast in the movie are Soya Kurokawa, Hinata Hiiragi, Mitsuki Takahata, Akihiro Kakuta, Shido Nakamura, and Yuko Tanaka. Filming for the movie took place from spring to summer, 2022. The movie’s first teaser trailer and teaser poster has also been released. The teaser trailer shows flashes of the main characters, with the voices of children chanting “Monster, guess who?” in the background. The teaser trailer ends mysteriously with a drop of blood splashing on the floor.

“Monster” will be released June 2, 2023 in Japan.

Trailer and poster added for movie “Downfall” starring Takumi Saito, Shuri, and Megumi. Movie is based on manga series “Reiraku” by Inio Asano and directed by veteran actor Naoto Takenaka. More cast members has also been announced for the film and they are Hisashi YoshizawaEiji SugawaraDaisuke KurodaShiho Sasaki and Ryohei Shima. Lastly, the movie’s theme song has been revealed as “Doremi” by Ryohei Shima. and he also appears in the film as a freelance writer. The theme song can be heard in the main trailer as well.

“Downfall” will be released March 17, 2023 in Japan.

Riho Yoshioka, Serena Motola, Utaha, and Marika Matsumoto are cast in movie “Ice Cream Fever.” Movie is based on short story “Ice Cream Netsu” by Mieko Kawakami and directed by Tetsuya Chihara. The film revolves around four women, with Riho Yoshioka playing lead character Natsumi Tsuneta, whose lives intersect through an ice cream shop.

Ryohei Suzuki cast in movie “City Hunter”

Ryohei Suzuki is cast in Netflix live-action film “City Hunter.” The film is based on manga series “City Hunter” by Tsukasa Hojo. 2011 SBS drama series “City Hunter ,” starring Lee Min-Ho & Park Min-Young, is also based on the same manga series. The live-action movie version is set in the Shinjuku ward of Tokyo and filming also took place there. Ryohei Suzuki will play Ryo Saeba. He loves beautiful women, but he also works as a skilled sweeper.

“City Hunter” will be available to stream sometime in 2024 via Netflix.
