Trailer for live-action film “Reon”

Trailer and poster added for live-action film “Reon” starring former Kara member Kang Ji-Young and Naoto Takenaka. Movie is based on manga “Reon” by Kaori Ookura and Tomohide Kiyoshi. Story for “Reon” has Kang Ji-Young and Naoto Takenaka playing two characters who find themselves having switched into each other’s bodies after an accident.

“Reon” will be released February 24, 2018 in Japan.

Sosuke Ikematsu, Kim Kkobbi, Shinnosuke Mitsushima, Koji Ookura are cast in movie “Kimi ga Kimi de Kimi da.” The film is written and directed by Daigo Matsui. The film’s unusual premise has 3 men in love with a woman. They change themselves to someone their woman loves including musician Yutaka Ozaki (Sosuke Ikematsu), American actor Brad Pitt (Shinnosuke Mitsushima) and political figure Ryoma Sakamoto (Koji Ookura).

Filming for “Kimi ga Kimi de Kimi da” has already finished and the movie will be released sometime next year in Japan.

Yurika Nakamura and Wakana Aoi are cast for lead roles in live-action film “Ramen Kuitee.” Also cast in supporting roles are Renji Ishibashi and Jin Katagiri. The film is based on manga series “Ramen Kuitee!” by Akiteru Hayashi. Story for “Ramen Kuitee” follows three people who are connected by a bowl of ramen.

In addition, trailer has been added for “Ramen Kuitee.” Movie will be released March 3, 2018 in Japan.

Teaser trailer for movie “Last Hold” starring Ryoichi Tsukada (A.B.C-Z) and Hikaru Iwamoto (Snow Man). What everyone can agree to this holiday season is the need for more films centered around indoor rock climbing and “Last Hold” certainly fills that niche nicely. Story for “Last Hold” centers around a rock climbing club at a university and the club takes part in a competition. Movie is directed by Yukinori Makabe (“I am a Monk“).

“Last Hold” will be released May 12, 2018 in Japan.

Teaser trailer for live-action film “Inuyashiki”

Teaser trailer added for upcoming live-action film “Inuyashiki” starring Noritake Kinashi and Takeru Satoh. Movie is based on manga “Inuyashiki” by Hiroya Oku and directed by Shinsuke Sato (“Gantz“). Story for “Inuyashiki” involves an elderly man (Noritake Kinashi) who wakes up from an explosion to find himself a powerful cyborg and he is opposed by high school student turned cyborg (Takeru Satoh).

In addition, “Inuyashiki” is now set for release April 20, 2018 in Japan.

Erika Sawajiri cast in movie “Neko wa Daku Mono”

Erika Sawajiri is cast in new movie “Neko wa Daku Mono.” The film is based on 2015 novel “Neko wa Daku Mono” by Junko Oyama and directed by Isshin Inudo. Story for “Neko wa Daku Mono” has Erika Sawajiri playing Saori Oishi. She is a former idol group member, now working at a supermarket. She only opens up to a cat at a pet store. The cat then somehow believes he is her boyfriend. Isshin Inudo previously directed films “Goo Goo, The Cat” and “All About My Dog” which revolved around animals.

“Neko wa Daku Mono” will be released June 23, 2018.

Ryoko Shinohara & Hidetoshi Nishijima cast in movie “The House Where The Mermaid Sleeps”

Ryoko Shinohara & Hidetoshi Nishijima are cast in movie “The House Where The Mermaid Sleeps” (literal title). The film is based on the 2015 novel “Ningyo no Nemuru Ie” by Keigo Higashino and directed by Yukihiko Tsutsumi. Story for “The House Where The Mermaid Sleeps” differs from Keigo Higashino’s well known mystery-suspense type of novels and revolves around a difficult moral dilemma. Ryoko Shinohara & Hidetoshi Nishijima play parents whose daughter drowned in a pool and is informed by a doctor that their daughter is brain dead. The parents can either donate her organs to others in critical need or wait until their daughter’s heart stops beating which could be years.

Filming for “The House Where The Mermaid Sleeps” takes place from January to Febraury, 2018 and the movie will be released November, 2018 in Japan.
