Hiromitsu Kitayama, Mikako Tabe & Kokoro Hirasawa cast in live-action film “Tora-san”

Hiromitsu Kitayama (‘Kis-My-Ft2’), Mikako Tabe & Kokoro Hirasawa are cast in live-action film “Tora-san.” The film is based on manga series “Tora san” by Mina Itaba. In the film, Hiromitsu Kitayama plays Suzuo Takahata, Mikako Tabe plays his wife Natsuko Takahata and Kokoro Hirasawa plays their daughter Miyu Takahata. The father is an unsuccessful manga writer and spends most of his time drinking and gambling. He then dies in a car accident, but is given a month to think about his life. He returns to this world as a cat.

“Tora-san” will be released 2019 in Japan.

Yo Oizumi, Manami Honjou and Masaki Okada cast in movie “Sky’s Restaurant”

Yo Oizumi, Manami Honjou and Masaki Okada are cast in movie “Sky’s Restaurant” (literal title). In the film, Yo Oizumi will play main character Wataru. He runs a cattle farm and is married to Kotoe (Manami Honjou). They decide to open a restaurant after tasting a meal prepared by a chef using ingredients they produced. Masaki Okada will play a colleague of Wataru and he is a sheep farmer. Movie is directed by Yoshihiro Fukagawa.

“Sky’s Restaurant” will be released spring, 2019 in Japan.

Trailer for movie “Summer Blooms”

Trailer for movie “Summer Blooms” starring Aki Asakura. Movie is written and directed by Ryutaro Nakagawa. The film was awarded the FIPRESCI award at the 39th Moscow International Film Festival and also screened at the Taipei Film Festival. Story for “Summer Blooms” follows a waitress (Aki Asakura) who used to work as a teacher. She lost something very dear to her in her past. During the summer, she makes a confession about her past.

“Summer Blooms” opens May 12, 2018 in Japan.

Gou Ayano cast in movie “Punk Samurai Slash Down”

Gou Ayano is cast in movie “Punk Samurai Slash Down.” The film is based on 2004 novel “Panku Zamurai Kirarete Soro” by Ko Machida. Movie is directed by Gakuryu Ishii (“Electric Dragon 80000V“) and screenplay by Kankuro Kudo. The film falls in the jidai shosetsu genre and follows a ronin played by Gou Ayano. He tries to join Kurokaze Han by warning them about a doomsday cult, but he then gets caught up in a power struggle.

“Punk Samurai Slash Down” will be released June 30, 2018 in Japan.

Shuri, Masaki Suda, Riisa Naka cast in movie “Ikiteru Dake de, Ai”

Shuri, Masaki Suda, and Riisa Naka are cast in movie “Ikiteru Dake de, Ai.” The film is the third feature film adapted from a novel by Yukiko Motoya (“Funuke Show Some Love, You Losers!“/”Vengeance Can Wait“). Also cast for supporting roles are Tetsushi Tanaka, Naomi Nishida, Yutaka Matsushige, Shizuka Ishibashi and Lisa Oda. Story for “Ikiteru Dake de, Ai” follows a hikkimori girl with hypersomnia (Shuri), her seemingly indifferent boyfriend (Masaki Suda) and his ex-girlfriend (Riisa Naka).

Filming for “Ikiteru Dake de, Ai” began January 8, 2018 and already finished. Movie will be released sometime this autumn in Japan.

Hana Sugisaki cast in live-action film “Bleach”

Hana Sugisaki is in upcoming live-action film “Bleach” starring Sota Fukushi. For the live-action film, Hana Sugisaki will play Rukia Kuchiki. She transfers her power as a Soul Reaper to Ichigo Kurosaki (Sota Fukushi) after she is injured while battling a Hollow. Until she is able to regain her powers, she lets Ichigo Kurosaki do her work as Soul Reaper and supports him. During this time she lives secretly in Ichigo Kurosaki’s closet and pretends to be ordinary female high school student. She attends the same high school as Ichigo Kurosaki does. Movie is based on manga “Bleach”by Tite Kubo.

In addition, release date for “Bleach” is now set for July 20, 2018 in Japan.

Trailer for movie “Last Hold!”

Trailer for movie “Last Hold!” starring Ryoichi Tsukada (A.B.C-Z) and the 6 members from Johnny’s ‘Snow Men’ idol group Ryota Miyadate, Shota Watanabe, Tatsuya Fukasawa, Ryohei Abe, Daisuke Sakuma and Hikaru Iwamoto. In addition, below are two still images from the film featuring supporting actors Masanobu Katsumura as a coach from a rival school. The second still image is of Ryusuke Komakine & Munenori Nagano. Story for “Last Hold!” follows senior university student Okajima (Ryoichi Tsukada). He is the sole member of the school’s rock climbing club and he is about to graduate. So the club can continue, Okajima seeks out new members.

“Last Hold!” will be released May 12, 2018 in Japan.

Taiki Sato cast in live-action film “Marmalade Boy”

Taiki Sato (‘EXILE’ and ‘FANTASTICS’) is cast for a supporting role in upcoming live-action film “Marmalade Boy.” The film is based on manga series “Marmalade Boy” by Wataru Yoshizum and stars Hinako Sakurai & Ryo Yoshizawa. In the upcoming film, Taiki Sato will play Ginta Suou. He is classmates with Miki Koishikawa (Hinako Sakurai) and they are also friends. Ginta Suou is an ace tennis player and he also holds feelings for Miki Koishikawa.

“Marmalade Boy” opens April 27, 2018 in Japan.
