Wakana Matsumoto cast in Fuji TV drama “Watashi no Takaramono”

Wakana Matsumoto is cast in Fuji TV drama series “Watashi no Takaramono.” The drama series, with an original screenplay by Takayuki Ichikawa and directed by Toshiyuki Mitsuhashi (“One Day: Wonderful Christmas Ado“), will have Wakana Matsumoto in the lead character role of Miwa Kanzaki. She becomes pregnant with another man’s child and makes the decision to lie to her husband that he is the father of the baby.

“Watashi no Takaramono” first airs October 17, 2024  in Japan.

Naohito Fujiki and Susumu Terajima cast in TV Tokyo drama “D&D”

Naohito Fujiki and Susumu Terajima are cast in TV Tokyo drama series “D&D.” The human mystery drama series will have Naohito Fujiki will play Ryo Kamiko. He is a doctor and director of a regional hospital that is facing a financial crisis. Susumu Terajima will play Bunpei Yuge. He is a quirky veteran detective who doesn’t show favoritism to his organization. The doctor and detective work together to solve violent crimes that seem related to the hospital’s situation.

“D&D” will first air October 18, 2024 in Japan (will air in TV Tokyo’s new 9PM time slot, with prior drama series “Shosen Hitogoto desu kara” airing at 8PM).

Oji Suzuka & Honoka Matsumoto cast in Fuji TV drama “Usotoki Rhetoric”

Oji Suzuka and Honoka Matsumoto are cast in Fuji TV live-action drama series “Usotoki Rhetoric.” The drama series is based on manga series “Usotoki Rhetoric” by Ritsu Miyako. Story for “Usotoki Rhetoric,” is set in the early Show period (around 1930-1940) and follows a private detective played by Oji Suzuka, who is in heavy debt. He comes across a woman played by Honoka Matsumoto who has an ability to tell when people tell lies.

“Usotoki Rhetoric” will first air October 7, 2024 in Japan (takes over Fuji TV’s Monday 9PM time slot after “Where does the Sea Begin.”).

Takashi Sorimachi  & Yosuke Sugino are cast in Fuji TV drama series “Okura.” The mystery-detective drama series features an original screenplay by Shogo Muto (“Mr. Hiiragi’s Homeroom“). Setting for the drama series will revolve around the Okura department at the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department. The department specializes in unsolved cold cases and is looked down upon by detectives from other departments. Both Takashi Sorimachi  & Yosuke Sugino will play detectives who work in Okura.

“Okura” will first air October 8, 2024 in a new 9PM time slot for drama series on Fuji TV.

Kenta Kiritani is cast in TV Tokyo drama series “Qros no Onna.” This will mark Kenta Kiritani’s first time starring in a drama series for TV Tokyo. The mystery-suspense drama series is based on 2013 novel  “Qros no Onna” by Tetsuya Honda (“Strawberry Night“). In ” Qros no Onna,” Kenta Kiritani will play Koji Kuriyama. He is a reporter for a gossip magazine.

Shotaro Mamiya cast in WOWOW drama “Hustlin Boy”

Shotaro Mamiya is cast in WOWOW live-action drama series “Hustlin Boy.” The drama series is based on manga series of same name by Shinya Kusaka and Yuki Honda. Kosuke Suzuki (“Shylock’s Children“) will direct the drama series. Shotaro Mamiya will play Tamotsu Kubota. He is a student in debt and begins to work with someone in the criminal underworld of Ikebukuro.

“Hustlin Boy” will consist of 8 episodes and air sometime this fall in Japan.

Tatsuya Fujiwara cast in Fuji TV drama “Zenryoiki Ijou Kaiketsu Shitsu”

Tatsuya Fujiwara is cast in Fuji TV drama series “Zenryoiki Ijou Kaiketsu Shitsu.” The mystery drama series is scripted by Tsutomu Kuroiwa (“La Grande Maison Tokyo“) and directed by directed by Junichi Ishikawa (“Hospital Police Force“). For the upcoming drama series, Tatsuya Fujiwara will play Miyabi Okitama. Teaser trailer and posters added for Netflix drama series “The Queen of Villains” starring Yuriyan Retriever, Erika Karata, and Ayame Goriki. Drama series “The Queen of Villains” is set in the 1980’s and follows the life of real life female wrestler Dump Matsumoto played by Yuriyan Retriever. Playing her peers are Erika Karata as Chigusa Nagayo and Ayame Goriki as Lioness Asuka. During production of the drama series, wrestlers Dump Matsumoto and Chigusa Nagayo took part as wrestling supervisors.
