Kouhei Matsushita is cast in NTV live-action drama series “Houkago Karte.” The drama series is based on manga series “Houkago Karte” by Mayu Hinase. For “Houkago Karte,” Kouhei Matsushita will play a pediatrician who is stationed at an elementary school. He often complains and carries attitude, but he is good at his job.

Mayu Hotta, Sawa Nimura, Mei Hata and Neru Nagahama are cast in NTV drama series “Wakakusa Monogatari.” The drama series is based on classic 1868 U.S. novel “Little Women” by Louisa May Alcott, but told from the vantage point of modern day Japan. The four announced female actresses will play sisters from the Machida family, with Mayu Hotta playing lead character Ryo Machida. She is the second oldest sister and hopes to become a drama series screenwriter.

Nao and Yuta Tamamori are cast in TBS drama series “Ano Kuzu wo Nagutte Yaritainda.” The drama series is a romantic-comedy that is scripted by Yoko Izumisawa (“The Expert of Changing Jobs“) & Keiko Kanome (“Good Morning Call“). In the upcoming drama series, Nao will play Hokomi Sato. She was betrayed by her ex-boyfriend on their wedding day and now makes it a point to avoid scummy men. She meets Kairi Kuzuya, played by Yuta Tamamori, who is a mysterious person and she takes up boxing as well.

Shun Oguri & Yu Aoi are cast in Netflix drama series “Human Vapor.” The drama series is a reboot of 1960 sci-fi film “The Human Vapor” that was directed by Ishiro Honda. South Koreans Yeon Sang-Ho (“Train To Busan“) and Ryoo Yong-Jae (“Parasyte: The Grey“) wrote the screenplay adaptation and Yeon Sang-Ho is also credited as the executive producer of the drama series. The drama series will be directed by Shinzo Katayama (“Siblings of the Cape“) and set in modern day Japan.
Release date for “Human Vapor” has not yet been determined.
Nanao is cast in TV Asahi live-action drama series “Muno no Taka.” The office-comedy drama series is based on manga series “Muno no Taka” by Asami Hanzaki. For “Muno no Taka,” Nanao will play Tsumeko Takano. She appears highly competent at work, but she doesn’t really know what she is doing … except when it comes time negotiating with clients.
“Muno no Taka” will first air October, 2024 in TV Asahi’s Friday 11:15 PM time slot after “Densetsu no Head Sho.”

The drama series is set at a newly merged coed high school that establishes a no dating rule for its students. A student there Ichica Arisawa (Ai Mikami) thinks of a way to make money off the rule.

Yuya Yagira, Ryota Bando, and Tasuku Sato are cast in TBS drama series “Lion no Kakurega.” The human drama features an original screenplay by Koji Tokuo & Yoshino Ichinohe and directed by Toshio Tsuboi. Screenwriter Koji Tokuo and director Toshio Tsuboi previously worked together in 2020 TBS drama series “My Housekeeper Nagisa-san.” For “Lion no Kakurega,” Yuya Yagira will play lead character Hiroto Komori. He takes care of his younger brother (Ryota Bando) who has autism and works as an artist. A boy named Lion (Tasuku Sato) then comes into their lives.

Hayato Isomura will play Ryu Narutaki and South Korean singer-actor TaecYeon (2PM) will play Hwang Yo-Han. Even though they come from different backgrounds, they have a chance encounter and share a sense of loneliness within each other.

Main trailer and poster added for Disney+ drama series “Land of Tanabata” starring Kanata Hosoda. The drama series is based on manga series “Tanabata no Kuni” by Hitoshi Iwaaki, who also wrote the original manga series that was turned into 2014 movie “Parasyte.” The sci-fi screenplay will have Kanata Hosoda play a young man who possesses a particular super power and must use that to save the world.
“Land of Tanabata” consists of 10 episodes and will be available to stream from July 4, 2024.
