Takashi Sorimachi & Yosuke Sugino are cast in Fuji TV drama series “Okura.” The mystery-detective drama series features an original screenplay by Shogo Muto (“Mr. Hiiragi’s Homeroom“). Setting for the drama series will revolve around the Okura department at the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department. The department specializes in unsolved cold cases and is looked down upon by detectives from other departments. Both Takashi Sorimachi & Yosuke Sugino will play detectives who work in Okura.
“Okura” will first air October 8, 2024 in a new 9PM time slot for drama series on Fuji TV.
Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: There is a department called Okura at the the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department. Detectives in Okura take on old, unsolved cases which are in a shelved state. The Okura department is mocked by the other detectives and described as a garbage dump or a detective’s graveyard. The members of Okura are branded as incompetent outcasts.
Detective Senju Hidaka (Takashi Sorimachi) and Detective Toshiki Fuwa (Yosuke Sugino) belong to Okura with several other detectives who all have strong personalities. Detective Senju Hidaka experienced losing a colleague in a serial murder case that targeted police officers 10 years ago. He continues working on that case. Detective Toshiki Fuwa is smart and argumentative. He memorizes all the unsolved cases in his head. He is strongly committed to seeking justice. He has a specific reason why he was transferred to Okura. They begin to investigate an unsolved case based on only a few clues that were found at that time, but some new information was recently provided. With their investigation, the stopped time of the people involved in the case moves again.
