Takanori Iwata & Mackenyu Arata cast in movie “End roll of the world Nameless”

Takanori Iwata (“J Soul Brothers”/”EXILE”) and Mackenyu Arata are cast in movie “End roll of the world Nameless” (literal title). The film is based on 2013 novel “Na mo Naki Sekai no End Roll” by Kaoru Yukinari and directed by Yuichi Sato. Filming for the movie took place from July, 2019 to August, 2019.

“End roll of the world Nameless” will be released sometime next year in Japan.

Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: Kida (Takanori Iwata) and Makoto (Mackenyu Arata) have been friends since they were children. They also both don’t have parents. The two become friends with transfer student Yocchi, who also doesn’t have parents. They spend time together everyday and grow up together. A case takes place when they are 20 years old and it affects their lives tremendously. Years later, Kida works as a negotiator in the criminal world. Makoto works as a trading company CEO in the criminal world. They spent 10 years to take revenge on a world which changed their fate.

Dean Fujioka & Takanori Iwata cast in Fuji TV drama series “Sherlock”

Dean Fujioka & Takanori Iwata are cast in Fuji TV drama series “Sherlock.” As the recognizable title hints, the drama series is based on the famous novel series “Sherlock Holmes” by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, but set in present day Tokyo. Hiroshi Nishitani (“Galileo“) will direct the drama series and the screenplay adaptation is scripted by Yumiko Inoue (“Hirugao: Love Affairs in the Afternoon“). Dean Fujioka will play Sherlock, while Takanori Iwata will play Watson.

“Sherlock” will first air October, 2019 in Japan (takes over Fuji TV’s Monday 10PM time slot after “Asagao: Forensic Doctor“).

Kanata Hosoda & Nagisa Sekimizu cast in live-action film “The World of Machida-kun”

Kanata Hosoda & Nagisa Sekimizu are cast in live-action film “The World of Machida-kun” (literal title). The film is based on manga “Machida-kun no Sekai” by Yuki Ando and directed by Yuya Ishii. Kanata Hosoda will play lead male character Hajime Machida and Nagisa Sekimizu will play lead female character Nana Inohara. They were both cast after going through auditions with about 1,000 contestants taking part. Cast in supporting roles are: Takanori Iwata (“J Soul Brothers”/”EXILE”), Mitsuki Takahata, Atsuko Maeda, Taiga, Sosuke Ikematsu, Erika Toda, Koichi Sato, Yukiya Kitamura and Nanako Matsushima.

“The World of Machida-kun” will be released June 7, 2019 in Japan.

Yoko Maki cast in NHK drama special “Flaming Attorney”

Yoko Maki is cast for the lead role new NHK drama special “Flaming Attorney” (literal title of “Enjo Bengonin”). Also cast in supporting roles are Riisa Naka, Takanori Iwata, Amane Okayama, Hairi Katagiri, Rumiko Koyanagi, Ryudo Uzaki and Yukiyoshi Ozawa. In the drama special, Yoko Maki plays Miho Watarai. She works as an attorney and runs her office out of the second floor of her parents’ house. The drama special is directed by Tomochika Kasaura and scripted by Yumiko Inoue.

“Flaming Attorney” will air December 15, 2018 in Japan.

Trailer for live-action film “Perfect World”

Trailer added for live-action film “Perfect World” starring Takanori Iwata (‘J Soul Brothers’ and ‘EXILE’) and Hana Sugisaki. Movie is based on manga series “Perfect World” by Rie Aruga and directed by Kenji Shibayama. The supporting cast for the film has also been revealed today and they will Kenta SugaSei Ashina, MagiAya Omasa, Kazue Ito, Mantaro Koichi and Naomi Zaizen. In addition, the trailer reveals the movie’s theme song which is “Perfect World” by Japanese girl group E-girls.

“Perfect World” will be released October 5, 2018 in Japan.

Takanori Iwata and Erika Toda cast in NTV drama series “Gakeppuchi Hotel”

Takanori Iwata (‘J Soul Brothers’ and ‘EXILE’) and Erika Toda are cast in new NTV drama series “Gakeppuchi Hotel.” Gakeppuchi in the drama series title means literally “brink of a cliff” and the word is also used to describe a very difficult situation. Story for the drama series will take place at hotel that is long past its glory days and nears bankruptcy. 29-year-old Sana Sakurai (Erika Toda) is the hotel manager and she struggles to revive the hotel. The hotel’s fortune changes when Naoya Ukai (Takanori Iwata) arrives as a guest at the hotel. Ryuichi Inomata directs the drama series.

“Gakeppuchi Hotel” will first air April, 2018 in Japan.

Takanori Iwata cast in movie “Kyonen no Fuyu, Kimi to Wakare”

Takanori Iwata (‘J Soul Brothers’ and ‘EXILE’) is cast for the lead role in movie “Kyonen no Fuyu, Kimi to Wakare.” Also cast in the film are Mizuki Yamamoto, Kazuki Kitamura, Takumi Saito and Reina Asami. Movie is based on 2013 novel “Kyonen no Fuyu, Kimi to Wakare” by Fuminori Nakamura and will be directed by Tomoyuki Takimoto.

In the upcoming film, Takanori Iwata will play reportage writer Kyosuke Yakumo. For his next book, he examines a burned to death murder case involving a beautiful blind woman. The suspect in the case is a talented photographer played by Takumi Saito. Mizuki Yamamoto will play the fiance of Kyosuke Yakumo, Reina Asami will play the older sister of the photographer and Kazuki Kitamura will play the editor of a weekly magazine.

Filming for “Kyonen no Fuyu, Kimi to Wakare” began July 2, 2017 and finishes mid-August, 2017. Movie will be released sometime during spring, 2018 in Japan.
