Shin Sung-Rok cast in KBS2 drama series “Perfume”

Shin Sung-Rok is cast for the lead male role in new KBS2 drama series “Perfume.” Actress Koh Joon-Hee has already received an offer to play the lead female character and she is still “positively considering” her offer. The screenplay features fantasy elements that would fit nicely in a tvN drama series, centering around a mysterious bottle of perfume that transforms a middle-aged woman into a young woman who becomes a model. Shin Sung-Rok will play fashion designer Seo Yi-Do. He’s a successful fashion designer and has a mean personality.

“Perfume” will first air June, 2019 in South Korea.

SBS drama series “The Last Empress” extended to 52 episodes

Popular SBS drama series “The Last Empress,” starring Jang Na-Ra and Choi Jin-Hyuk, has been extended from 48 episodes to 52 episodes. Ratings for the drama series has been quite high, which gave the impetus to the staff to add 4 more episodes and tell a better ending story. The drama series was originally scheduled to end on February 14, 2019, but it will not finish on February 21, 2019. Consequently, Drama series “Big Issue” will now premiere on March 6, 2019 in the Wednesday and Thursday 10PM time slot for SBS.

Teaser trailer #2 for SBS drama series “The Last Empress”

Teaser trailer #2 added for upcoming SBS drama series “The Last Empress” starring Jang Na-Ra, Choi Jin-Hyuk and Shin Sung-Rok. Meanwhile still images below is of Choi Jin-Hyuk as Na Wang-Sik. He works as a bodyguard for the royal family. This scene is the first of Na Wang-Sik dressed in formal attire as the royal family bodyguard and was filmed recently in Buyeo, South Chungcheong Province.

Teaser trailer added for upcoming SBS drama series “The Last Empress” starring Jang Na-Ra, Choi Jin-Hyuk and Shin Sung-Rok.

Meanwhile, still images below is the first of Shin Sung-Rok in the drama series. Filming for this scene took place in Yongsan District, Seoul. He wears a mask while drinking at a nightclub.

First script reading for SBS drama series “Empress’s Dignity”

First script reading for SBS drama series “Empress’s Dignity” (literal title) took place September 6, 2018 at SBS Ilsan Production Center in Tanhyun, South Korea. Main cast members including Jang Na-Ra, Choi Jin-Hyuk,Shin Sung-Rok,Lee Elijah, Shin Eun-Kyung, Park Won-Suk, Yun Da-Hun, Kim Jung-Tae and Yoon So-Yi all attended. The first script reading took about 5 hours to complete.

Choi Jin-Hyuk cast in SBS drama series “Empress’s Dignity”

Choi Jin-Hyuk is cast in upcoming SBS drama series “Empress’s Dignity” (literal title) co-starring Jang Na-Ra. For the drama series, Choi Jin-Hyuk will play lead male character Na Wang-Sik. His character works as a bodyguard for the royal family. The drama series is set in the present day, but under the assumption that South Korea is governed by a royal family,  Jang Na-Ra will play a woman who marries into the royal family, but falls in love with Na Wang-Sik.

“Empress’s Dignity” first airs November, 2018 in South Korea (takes over SBS’ Wednesday and Thursday 10PM time slot after “Heart Surgeons.”).

First script reading for SBS drama series “Return”

First script reading for SBS drama series “Return” took place November 15, 2017 at SBS Ilsan Production Center in Tanhyun, South Korea. Main cast members including Ko Hyun-Jung, Lee Jin-Wook, Shin Sung-Rok, Park Ki-Woong, Bong Tae-Gyu and Jung Eun-Chae attended. The first script reading took about 4 hours to complete. Filming began the same month, after the first script reading.

In the drama series, Ko Hyun-Jung plays Choi Ja-Hye. She is a lawyer who has a secret and she hosts the TV court show “Return.” She tries to reveal the truth of murder case involving the elite class. Lee Jin-Wook plays Detective Dokgo Young. He works with Choi Ja-Hye on the case.

“Return” first airs January 17, 2018 in South Korea.

Choi Min-Soo, Gang Ye-Won and Shin Sung-Rok cast in MBC drama series “Man Who Dies to Live”

Choi Min-Soo, Gang Ye-Won and Shin Sung-Rok are cast in upcoming MBC drama series “Man Who Dies to Live.” The drama series will air beginning July, 2017 on Wednesday and Thursday at 10PM. Drama series “Hospital Ship” was originally targeted to air at that time, but “Hospital Ship” will now air from August, 2017 after “Man Who Dies to Live.” Story for “Man Who Dies to Live” follows Jang Dal-Goo played by Choi Min-Soo. He moved to the middle east, but returns to South Korea to find his daughter played by Kang Ye-Won. She is now married to an office worker played by Shin Sung-Rok.
