Sho Sakurai, Yu Aoi & Mikako Tabe cast in NTV drama series “Saki ni Umareta Dake no Boku”

Sho Sakurai, Yu Aoi & Mikako Tabe are cast in new NTV drama series “Saki ni Umareta Dake no Boku.” The drama series will be directed by Nobuo Mizuta and scripted by Yasushi Fukuda. Premise for the drama series has Sho Sakurai playing Rosuke Narumi. He works at a trading company which has a business relationship with a private high school experiencing financial problems. Somehow, Rosuke Narumi gets appointed as the school’s new principle. Yu Aoi will play school staff member Chihiro Mashiba and Mikako Tabe will play his girlfriend Satoko Matsubara.

21 member idol group “Keyakizaka46″ are all cast in new NTV drama series “Zankokuna Kankyakutachi.” The idol group previously appeared together in 2016 TV Tokyo drama series “Tokuyama Daigoro wo Dare ga Koroshitaka?” Premise for drama series “Zankokuna Kankyakutachi” is set in the near future and at a high school where privacy is prioritized. 21 female high school students are then locked in a room and their vision is broadcast in real time to the world. The only way for girls to escape is to receive “good” marks from the audience.

Masaki Okada, Tori Matsuzaka, Yuya Yagira are cast in NTV drama special “We’re Millennials Got a Problem?” The drama special is set one year after NTV drama series “We’re Millennials Got a Problem?” and Kankuro Kudo returns as screenwriter. The drama series revolves around three millennials who grew up in the yutori system (Japanese educational system that emphasizes a pressure-free education, but criticized as producing students who lack compettiveness).

NTV drama special “We’re Millennials Got a Problem?” will air sometime this summer in Japan.

Tao Tsuchiya, Ryota Katayose and Yudai Chiba are cast in NTV live-action drama series “Ani ni Aisaresugite Komattemasu.” The drama series is based on manga “Ani ni Ai Saresugite Komattemasu” by Rina Yagami and will air before the live-action film version of “Ani ni Ai Saresugite Komattemasu” which opens June 30, 2017 in Japan. Staff and cast from the live-action film version all take part in the NTV drama series version.

Rin Takanashi is cast in new NTV live-action drama series “Koi ga Heta demo Ikitemasu.” Also cast in supporting roles are Kei Tanaka, Kaho Tsuchimura & Yasushi Fuchikami. The drama series is based on manga series “Koi ga Heta demo Ikitemasu” by Akira Fujiwara and directed by Kentaro Otani. In the upcoming live-action drama series, Rin Takanashi plays Misa Chigasaki. She works at a gaming app company and hopes to become the CEO one day, but her love life always finds difficulties.

Erika Sawajiri cast in new NTV drama series “Become a Mother” (literal title). Also cast in major supporting character roles are Eiko Koike and Yuka Itaya. All three will play mother roles. In the drama series, Erika Sawajiri will play Yui Kashiwazaki. She came to Tokyo from Hokkaido at the age of 19. After her 3-year-old son was kidnapped, she divorced and lived alone. 9 years later her son comes back. Drama series is directed by Satoru Nakajima and scripted by Fumie Mizuhashi.

Shotaro Mamiya is cast in live-action NTV drama series “You Don’t Know Gunma Yet.” The drama series is based on the webcomic “Omae wa Mada Gunma wo Shiranai” by Hiroto Ida. In the drama series, Shotaro Mamiya will play main character Nori Kamitsuki. He transfers to a high school in Gunma Prefecture. He is in for a shock due to the regions cultural differences. He also becomes involved in a fight with the area’s rivals.

Gou Ayano is cast in new NTV drama series “Frankenstein’s Love” (literal title of “Furankenshutain no Koi”). The drama series is scripted by Sumio Omori and directed by Shunsuke Kariyama and Yoshinori Shigeyama. Story for the drama series is set in the present day and follows a monster (Gou Ayano) who was created over a hundred years ago. The monster possesses super physical ability and is immortal, but he years for humans. He then meets a woman Tsugaru and falls in love.

Tori Matsuzaka & Mikako Tabe are cast in NTV drama series “Virtual Detective Tabito Higurashi.” The drama series follows 2015 NTV drama SP “Virtual Detective Tabito Higurashi” and both are based on 2010 novel “Tantei Higurashi Tabito no Sagashimono” by Kozaburo Yamaguchi. Also cast in supporting roles are Gaku Hamada, Moeno Sumida and Kinya Kitaoji. All 5 of these performers will reprise the same roles from 2015 NTV drama special.

Shinichi Tsutsumi & Kyoko Koizumi are cast in live-action NTV drama series “Super Salaryman Mr. Saenai.” The drama series is based on manga series “Chunen Supaman Saenai si” by Fujiko F. Fujio and directed by Yuichi Fukuda (“33 Minute Detective“/”HK: Forbidden Super Hero“).

In drama series “Super Salaryman Mr. Saenai,” Shinichi Tsutsumi plays main character Mr. Saenai. He works as a regular salaryman and has a wife (Kyoko Koizumi) and two kids. Things turn unregular, when he crosses paths with an old man that makes him put on a super suit with super human powers.
