Teaser trailer for TBS drama series “Cheer Dance”

Teaser trailer for TBS drama series “Cheer Dance” starring Tao Tsuchiya. The drama series is a sequel/spin-off of 2017 movie “Let’s Go, Jets” which was based on the true story of the “Jets” cheer dance club at Fukui Chuo High School. Actor Joe Odagiri will have play supporting role in the drama series as a teacher and actress Suzu Hirose will make a cameo appearance as Hikari Tomonaga from the movie “Let’s Go, Jets.”

“Cheer Dance” first airs July 13, 2018 in Japan.

Elaiza Ikeda and Joe Odagiri cast movie “Room Laundering”

Elaiza Ikeda and Joe Odagiri are cast in movie “Room Laundering.” Also cast in supporting roles are Kiyohiko Shibukawa, Kentaro and Kaoru Mitsumune. The film is written and directed by Kenji Katagiri. In movie “Room Laundering” Eliza Ikeda plays Miko Yakuma. After her grandmother died, she shut herself away from the world until her uncle appears. Joe Odagiri plays the uncle. He sets up a place for her to live and a part-time job. The part-time job is “room laundering” which is to appease ghosts who are holed up in rooms by solving their worries.

“Room Laundering” will be released sometime next year in Japan.

Filming for Kim Ki-Duk’s “The Time of Humans” finishes

Filming for Kim Ki-Duk directed film “The Time of Humans” finished recently. The movie stars an eclectic group of performers including Jang Keun-Suk, Ryoo Seung-Bum, Ahn Sung-Ki, Lee Sung-Jae, Mina Fujii and Joe Odagiri. The pictures here were taken during the final days of filming, which began last month. Story for the film takes place on a battleship with a wide variety of people on the ship. They include a gang boss played by Ryoo Seung-Bum, a cruel guy named Adam played by Jang Keun-Suk, a Japanese woman named Eve played by Mina Fuji and her boyfriend played by Joe Odagiri.

“The Time of Humans” should be released later this year in South Korea.

Asami Usuda, Taiga and Joe Odagiri cast in live-action film “Pumpkin and Mayonnaise”

Asami Usuda, Taiga and Joe Odagiri are cast in live-action film “Pumpkin and Mayonnaise” (literal title). Movie is based on a manga series “Kabocha to Mayonezu” by Kiriko Nananan and directed by Masanori Tominaga. For manga artist Kiriko Nananan, this is her third live-action film adaption following 2006 movie “Strawberry Shortcakes” and 2003 film “Blue.” Also cast in supporting roles are Ken Mitsuishi, Kurumi Shimizu, Koudai Asaka & Ryuya Wakaba.

Story for the film follow the relationship between Tsuchida (Asami Usuda), Seiichi (Taiga) and Hagio (Joe Odagiri). Tsuchida works at a hostess bar without her boyfriend Seiichi knowing. Seiichi is a musician, but he is in a musical rut and doesn’t have a job. Tsuchida then meets her ex-boyfriend Hagio (Joe Odagiri).

“Pumpkin and Mayonnaise” will be released November, 2017 in Japan.
