Ryo Nishikido is cast in live-action film “Hitsuji no Ki”

Ryo Nishikido (‘Kanjani Eight’) is cast for the lead role in upcoming live-action film “Hitsuji no Ki.” Also cast in supporting roles for the film are Fumino Kimura, Kazuki Kitamura, Yuka, Mikako Ichikawa, Shingo Mizusawa, Min Tanaka and Ryuhei Matsuda. Movie is based on the manga series “Hitsuji no Ki” by Tatsuhiko Yamagami and directed by Daihachi Yoshida (“The Kirishima Thing“).

In the upcoming film, Ryo Nishikido will play Hajime Tsukisue. His character works as a city employee in the decaying port city of Uobuka. Six strangers move into the city and Hajime Tsukisue is tasked with welcoming to the city. The strangers carry a strange vibe about them. Hajime Tsukisue learns that the strangers are ex-prisoners, all convicted of murder and released under a new government parole system.

Filming for “Hitsuji no Ki” will begin October, 2016 and the movie is scheduled to be released sometime during 2018 in Japan.

Fumino Kimura & Munetaka Aoki cast in WOWOW drama series “Suisho no Kodo”

Fumino Kimura & Munetaka Aoki are cast in WOWOW drama series “Suisho no Kodo.” The drama series is a sequel to 2015 WOWOW drama series “Stone’s Cocoon” and based on 2014 novel “Suisho no Kodo Keishicho Satsujin Bunsekihan” by Kazushi Asami. Also cast in the drama series are Ikkei WatanabeToshiyuki KitamiYu Koyanagi & Takahiro Fujimoto.

Story for “Suisho no Kodo” takes place one year after WOWOW drama series “Stone’s Coccoon.” Toko Kisaragi (Fumino Kimura) and Hideaki Takano (Munetaka Aoki) investigate a new murder case. When they realize they are being followed by a man, they chase after him .. but a building nearby explodes.

“Suisho no Kodo” will first air November 13, 2016 in Japan.

Osamu Mukai cast in TBS drama series “Kami no Shita wo Motsu Otoko”

Osamu Mukai is cast in new TBS drama series “Kami no Shita wo Motsu Otoko.” Also cast in supporting roles are Fumino Kimura and Jiro Sato. The drama series will be set in various hot springs located in remote areas and unknown to most people. Osamu Mukai will play Ranmaru Tomonaga. His character is naive, cute and possessing a special ability. His special ability revolves around his tongue which can analyze things in certain ways including gas chromatography. Along with Hikaru (Fumino Kimura) and Kanji (Jiro Sato), Ranmaru Tomonaga drives around to remote hot springs in search of a hot spring geisha named “Miyabi.”

“Kami no Shita wo Motsu Otoko” first airs this July in Japan (Fridays at 10PM).

Junichi Okada, Shun Oguri, Tasuku Emoto cast in “Tsuioku”

Junichi Okada, Shun Oguri, Tasuku Emoto are cast in new movie “Tsuioku.” Also cast for the film are Masami Nagasawa, Fumino Kimura, Sakura Ando & Hidetaka Yoshioka. Movie will be directed by Yasuo Furuhata (“Dearest“).

Premise for the film follows three adults who were childhood friends. They reunite, but due to a memory case. Atsushi Shikata (Junichi Okada) is now a detective, Keita Tadokoro (Shun Oguri) a suspect and Satoshi Kawabata (Tasuku Emoto) victim.

Filming for “Tsuioku” will begin March 17 in Japan.

Hinako Sano, Anna Iriyama (‘AKB48’) & Yuko Fueki to make guest appearances in Fuji TV drama “Siren”

Hinako Sano, Anna Iriyama (‘AKB48’) and Yuko Fueki are cast in guest roles in currently airing Fuji TV drama series “Siren” starring Tori Matsuzaka & Fumino Kimura.

Hinako Sano and Anna Iriyama will appear in ep.3 which airs later today, November 3, 3015. Hinako Sano will play Ai and Anna Iriyama will play Rena. Their characters are hostesses at an exclusive club and they try to seduce Detective Shinobu Satomi (Tori Matsuzaka). Meanwhile, actress Yuko Fueki will appear in ep.4 which airs November 10, 2015. She will play Doctor Kuramoto.

“Siren” airs Tuesdays at 10pm in Japan.
