Yuki Yamada and Arata Furuta cast in movie “Beethoven Netsuzou”

Yuki Yamada and Arata Furuta are cast in movie “Beethoven Netsuzou.” The film is based on 2018 novel “Beethoven Netsuzou Mei Producer wa Uso o Tsuku” by Shiho Kagehara. The movie’s screenplay adaptation is scripted by Bakarhythm (“Wedding High“) and directed by Kazuaki Seki (“Jigoku no Hanazono“). A teaser trailer and poster has also been revealed for the upcoming movie. The teaser trailer can be viewed at AsianWiki. Caption on the poster states “Runaway love changes history.”

“Beethoven Netsuzou” will be released September 12, 2025 in Japan.

Hideaki Ito cast in live-action film “Kappei”

Hideaki Ito is cast for the lead role in live-action film “Kappei.” The movie is based on manga series “Kappei” by Kiminori Wakasugi (“Detroit Metal City“). Also cast for the movie are Moka Kamishiraishi, Daigo Nishihata, Yusuke Onuki, Koji Yamamoto, Yukiyoshi Ozawa, & Arata Furuta. Filming for the movie took place from May to June, 2021. The first teaser trailer has also been released and can be viewed at AsianWiki.

“Kappei” will be released March 18, 2022 in Japan.

Teaser trailer for movie “Blank”

Teaser trailer added for movie “Blank” starring Arata Furuta & Tori Matsuzaka. Movie is written and directed by Keisuke Yoshida (“Come On Irene“). In addition, first round of supporting cast members have been announced for the film: Tomoko TabataKisetsu FujiwaraShuriAoi ItoReiko Kataoka and Shinobu Terajima. Narration in the teaser trailer begins with “The beginning was an attempt to steal. Father, who lost his daughter, becomes a monster.”

Arata Furuta & Tori Matsuzaka cast in movie “Blank”

Arata Furuta & Tori Matsuzaka are cast in movie “Blank” (literal title of “Kuhaku”). The film is directed and scripted by Keisuke Yoshida (“Come On Irene“). Filming will begin in late March, 2020 and finish a few weeks later by mid-April, 2020. Filming will take place in Gamagori, Aichi Prefecture, Japan. The film will have Tori Matsuzaka playing supermarket operator Naoto Aoyagi and Arata Furuta plays Mitsuru Soeda. His daughter was caught stealing at the supermarket and gets hit by a car, while trying to flee from the store.

“Blank” will be released sometime during 2021 in Japan.

Main trailer & poster for movie “Not Quite Dead Yet”

Main trailer and poster added for movie “Not Quite Dead Yet” starring Suzu Hirose, Ryo Yoshizawa & Shinichi Tsutsumi. The comedy film features an original screenplay by Yoshimitsu Sawamoto and directed by Shinji Hamasaki. For popular actress Suzu Hirose, “Not Quite Dead Yet” marks her first time starring in a comedy film.

Meanwhile, extensive supporting cast has been announced for the film. Arata Furuta cast in NTV drama series “My Skirt, Where Did It Go?”

Arata Furuta is cast for the lead role in NTV drama series “My Skirt, Where Did It Go?” (literal title of “Ore no Sukato, Doko Itta?”). The drama series features an original screenplay by Tomonari Sakurai and Takuya Kato. Shunsuke Kariyama and Itaru Mizuno will direct the drama series. For “My Skirt, Where Did It Go?,” Arata Furuta will play Nobuo Harada. He is a teacher who likes to dress like a woman.

“My Skirt, Where Did It Go?” first airs  April 20, 2019 in Japan.

Supporting cast announced for WOWOW sequel drama series “Partner in Darkness 2”

Supporting cast announced for Fuji TV drama series “Minshu no Teki”

Additional supporting cast members has been announced for upcoming Fuji TV drama series “Minshu no Teki” starring Ryoko Shinohara. Issei Takahashi and Yuriko Ishida have been previously announced for major supporting character roles. The new supporting cast members are Arata Furuta, Atsuko Maeda, Yudai Chiba, Kimiko Yo, Kei Tanaka, Wakadanna, Yoshihiko Hosoda and Kenya Osumi.

Story for the drama series will follow an unemployed mother played by Ryoko Shinohara who decides to run for a city council seat. “Minshu no Teki” will first air October, 2017 in Japan.

Shun Oguri cast in TV Asahi drama special “Border 2” and teaser trailer

Shun Oguri is cast in TV Asahi drama special “Border 2.” The 1 episode drama special is a sequel to 2014 TV Asahi drama series “Border.” Also set to return to their respective supporting roles are Munetaka Aoki, Haru, Arata Furuta, Kenichi Takito, Kenta Hamano, Toru Nomaguchi, Kenichi Endo and Nao Omori. Story for “Border 2”  will continue from “Border,” centering main character Ango Ishikawa (Shun Oguri). Ango Ishikawa is a detective able to see the dead.

“Border 2” will air sometime later this year in Japan.

Masataka Kubota is cast in live-action Fuji TV drama series “We Did It” (literal title of “Boku-tachi ga Yarimashita”). For the drama series, Masataka Kubota will play main character Tobio Masubuchi. Also cast in supporting roles are Mei Nagano, Mackenyu, Shotaro Mamiya, Shono Hayama, Hiroki Konno, Rina Kawaei, Sae Okazaki, Itsuji Itao, Ikue Sakakibara, Asami MizukawaShohei Miura and Arata Furuta. The drama series is based on manga “Boku-tachi ga Yarimashita” by Muneyuki Kaneshiro.
