First scripted reading for SBS drama series “The Legend of the Blue Sea”

First script reading for SBS series drama “The Legend of the Blue Sea,” starring Gianna Jun & Lee Min-Ho, took place October 8, 2016 in Sangam, Seoul, South Korea. The first script reading took place for 3 hours and covered ep.1-4. Interesting enough, filming for the drama series began in late August, 2016 before the first script reading.

In the drama series, Gianna Jun will play Sim Chung. Her character is a mermaid and in fact the last mermaid on Earth. She meets a swindler played by Lee Min-Ho and must adapt to live on land. The drama series is set in the present day.

“The Legend of the Blue Sea” first airs November 16, 2016 in South Korea.

Manami Higa cast in WOWOW drama series “Honjitsu wa, Ohigara mo Yoku”

Manami Higa is cast in upcoming WOWOW drama series “Honjitsu wa, Ohigara mo Yoku.” Also cast in the drama series are Kyoko Hasegawa, Dai Watanabe, Mokomichi Hayami & Renji Ishibashi. The drama series is based on novel 2010 novel “Honjitsu wa, Ohigara mo Yoku” by Maha Harada. Drama series has Manami Higa playing main character Kotoha Ninomiya. She deals with a transfer from general affairs to the PR department at a confection company. In addition, the man she holds secret feelings for and she has known for years is now getting married to another woman. At his wedding ceremony, she becomes inspired by a speech writer.

“Honjitsu wa, Ohigara mo Yoku” will first air January 14, 2017 in Japan.

First script reading for MBC drama series “Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-Joo”

First script reading for MBC drama series “Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-Joo,” starring Lee Sung-Kyung & Nam Joo-Hyuk, took place August, 2016 at MBC Broadcasting Station in Sangam, South Korea. The drama series is based on the true story of female weightlifter Jang Mi-Ran.

“Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-Joo” first airs November, 2016 in South Korea (takes over MBC’s Wednesday & Thursday 10PM time slot after “Shopping King Louis“).

Satoshi Tsumabuki to play villain in live-action film “Museum”

Satoshi Tsumabuki will appear in upcoming live-action film “Museum” as the man wearing the frog mask. His character is a notorious murderer and he calls himself an artist. Movie “Museum” is based on manga series “Museum” by Ryosuke Tomoe and stars Shun Oguri as Detective Hisashi Sawamura.

In addition, a second trailer has been added on AsianWiki which reveals Satoshi Tsumabuki’s appearance in the film. “Museum” will be released November 12, 2016 in Japan.
