Lee Byung-Hun and Park Bo-Gum have been offered lead roles in new movie “Ansi Fortress” (literal title). The film will be directed by Kim Kwang-Sik and set in the year 645. Currently, both actors are considering the offers. Story for the film revolves around the Siege of Ansi which took place in 645 between Goguryeo and Tang forces.
Teaser poster added for upcoming movie “I Want to Eat Your Pancreas” (literal title) starring Takumi Kitamura, Minami Hamabe, Shun Oguri & Keiko Kitagawa. Movie is based on novel “Kimi no Suizo wo Tabetai” by Yoru Sumino and directed by Sho Tsukikawa.

Haru, Masahiro Higashide, Riisa Naka & Nobuyuki Suzuki (‘Gekidan EXILE’) are all cast in new live-action TBS drama series “Anata no Koto wa Sorehodo.” The drama series is based on manga “Anata no Koto wa Sorehodo” by Ryo Ikuemi. Story for the drama series follows the relationship between a newlywed woman, her husband, her first love and his wife.

Here’s the first still image of Hong Jong-Hyun in upcoming MBC drama series “King Loves” co-starring Siwan & Yoona. This scene was shot on Hong Jong-Hyun’s first day of filming for the drama series which took place January, 2017. The scene has Wang Rin (Hong Jong-Hyun) protecting Wang Won (Siwan) and Eun San (Yoona).

Erika Sawajiri is cast in upcoming live-action film “Impossibility Defense” starring Tori Matsuzaka. Movie is based on manga series “Funohan” written by Arata Miyatsuki and directed by Koji Shiraishi. In live-action film “Impossibility Defense,” Erika Sawajiri will play Tomoko Tada. She is a detective who tries to achieve justice. She is the only one whose mind is not controlled by Tadashi Usobuki (Tori Matsuzaka). In the original manga, Erika Sawajiri’s character was a male character.

Park Seo-Joon and Kim Ji-Won are now cast for lead roles in new KBS2 drama series “Third-Rate My Way.” In the drama series, Park Seo-Joon will play Ko Dong-Man. He used to be a promising taekwondo athlete, but has is now a not-so popular martial artist. He does have a bright personality. Kim Ji-Won will play Choi Ae-Ra. She hoped to become an announcer, but she now works at the information desk at a department store. She has a wild personality.

Toshimi Watanabe from hip hop group ‘TOKYO No.1 SOUL SET’ & Rena Takeda are cast in new movie “Papa no Obento wa Sekai Ichi.” The duo will play father and daughter in the film. The movie itself is based on the true story of a father who made bento boxes (lunch boxes) for his daughter everyday for 3 years while she was in high school. Movie will be directed by Masakazu Fukatsu.

Actress Moon Chae-Won has been offered the lead female role in upcoming drama series “Criminal Minds.” Actor Lee Joon-Gi has already received an offer to play the lead male role. Both performers are currently “positively considering” their offers. Exact airing network for the upcoming drama series is still being discussed and has not been finalized. Filming for the drama series is expected to begin during the first half of this year in South Korea.
Nam Joo-Hyuk, Shin Se-Kyung, Krystal (‘f(x)’) & Gong Myung are now all cast in upcoming tvN drama series “Bride of the Water God 2017.” The drama series is based on webcomic “Habaekui Shinboo” by Yoon Mi-Kyung.
In drama series “Bride of the Water God 2017,” Nam Joo-Hyuk will play lead male character Ha Baek. He is the god of water. Shin Se-Kyung will play lead female character So-A. She is a psychiatrist. Krystal will play Hye-Ra. She is a god and has lived among humans for hundreds of years. She now works as an actress. Gong Myung will play Bi Ryum. He is the god of wind.
“Bride of the Water God 2017” first airs sometime this year in South Korea.
Filming for upcoming movie “Room 7,” starring Shin Ha-Kyun & Do Kyung-Soo (‘EXO-K’), finished February 23, 2017 in South Korea. Filming took about 50 days to complete. Story for the film is set in a “DVD Bang” which is a business that rents out private rooms to watch DVD movies (they were way more popular 5-10 years ago). Do Kyung-Soo plays an employee at the DVD Bang, while Shin Ha-Kyun is the owner of the DVD Bang that is facing financial difficulties.
