Story for “Dadadada Seventeen” follows 34-year-old high school student Nobuo (Rigaku Suzuki) and high school student Rikako (Yuho Kitazawa). The two set out to find Rikako’s father.

Haruka Ayase is cast in new NTV drama series “Okusama wa, Tori Atsukai Chui.” The drama series is scripted by Kazuki Kaneshiro and directed by Ryuichi Inomata. In the upcoming drama series, Haruka Ayase plays newlywed housewife Nami Isayama. She takes cooking classes and makes friends with the other housewives, but she suspects one of the housewives is the victim of domestic violence.

First script reading for upcoming MBC drama series “Borg Mom” took place August 10, 2017 at MBC Broadcasting Station in Sangam, South Korea. The first script read featured main cast members including Yang Dong-Geun, Park Han-Byul, Choi Yeo-Jin, Hwang Bo-Ra, Ivy, Jung Yi-Rang and Kwon Hyun-Bin. At the script reading, Director Sun Hye-Yoon stated that “I could not sleep last night, because my heart was fluttering. I hope this drama will be a memorable work for me.” Yang Dong-Geun stated that “I think it will be a fun drama which has never been before. I am looking forwards to it and I will work hard.” Park Han-Byul stated “I feel nervous due to expectation that I have to act well, but I will do my best.

Singer-songwriter Nodoka Kirishima and actor Ryo Kitamura are cast for the lead roles in new live-action film “Tsumasaki no Uchu.” The film is based on manga “Tsumasaki no Uchu” by Manni, which is published through free manga app Comico. Also cast in supporting roles are Mami Kamura and Reina Visa. Premise for the film will follow a young woman who is unable to speak words due to a past incident. She begins working at a karaoke place to break out of her shell.
Movie will be released sometime next year in Japan.
Kim Go-Eun has now accepted the lead female role in movie “Byeonsan” co-starring Park Jung-Min. The film will be directed by Lee Joon-Ik. The movie title of Byeonsan refers to the hometown of the two main characters where they meet again as young adults. Filming for the movie will begin sometime this autumn in South Korea.
Filming for upcoming movie “Psychokinesis” (literal title) finished August 6, 2017 in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province, South Korea. The comedy film stars Ryoo Seung-Ryong and Shim Eun-Kyung. Yeon Sang-Ho of “Train To Busan” fame directs the film. Filming for “Psychokinesis” took about 4 months to finish.
“Psychokinesis” will be released sometime next year in South Korea.
Takayuki Yamada and Takeru Satoh are cast for lead roles in live-action film “Hard Core.” In addition, YosiYosi Arakawa is cast in a supporting role. The movie is based on manga series “Hado Koa Heisei Jigoku Burazazu” by Takashi Imashiro and directed by Nobuhiro Yamashita. Takayuki Yamada and Takeru Satoh will play brothers in the film. Takayuki Yamada’s character works as a gold miner with his only friend played by YosiYosi Arakawa, while Takeru Satoh’s character works for a trading a company. They discover an old robot.
Filming for “Hard Core” takes place from August to September, 2017 in the suburbs of Tokyo.
First script reading for OCN drama series “Black” took place July 24, 2017 in Sangam-dong, Seoul, South Korea. At the first script reading, main cast members including Song Seung-Heon, Go Ara, Lee El and Kim Dong-Joon all attended. The characters they read for were Song Seung-Heon as Grim Reaper Black, Go Ara as Kang Ha-Ram, Lee El as Yoon Soo-Wan and Kim Dong-Joon as Man-Soo. The Grim Reaper Black is cold-hearted, but sometimes acts dumb. Kang Ha-Ram seems like a recluse and has a hard time communicating with other people, but she is actually tender and emotional. Yoon Soo-Wan works as an emergency room doctor and she is mysterious. Man-Soo is the son of a family that runs a large company.
“Black” first airs this October in South Korea.
