First script reading for MBC drama series “Man Who Sets the Table”

First script reading for upcoming MBC drama series “Man Who Sets the Table” starring On Joo-Wan and Sooyoung (“Girls’ Generation“) took place June, 2017. The first script reading featured main cast members On Joo-Wan, Sooyoung, Shim Hyung-Tak, Lee Il-Hwa, Seo Hyo-Rim, Park Jin-Woo, Kim Kap-Soo, and Kim Mi-Sook. Lee Si-Un also attended the first script reading as he will make a cameo appearance as the ex-boyfriend of Tae-Yang (Sooyoung). Filming for the drama series began shortly afterwards, with filming taking place in Guam at the end of June, 2017.

“Man Who Sets the Table” first airs September 2, 2017 in South Korea.

Masao Kusakari, Nene Otsuka and Mirai Shida cast in TV Tokyo live-action drama special “The Best Skilled Surgeon 2017”

Masao Kusakari, Nene Otsuka and Mirai Shida are cast in TV Tokyo live-action drama special “The Best Skilled Surgeon 2017” starring Takumi Saito. The drama special is based on manga “Saijo no Meii” by Kenzo Irie and follows 2011 TV Tokyo drama series “The Best Skilled Surgeon” and drama special “The Best Skilled Surgeon 2016.” In addition, Manami Higa and Shigeru Izumiya who appeared in the drama series”The Best Skilled Surgeon” will reprise their roles in the drama special. Story for “The Best Skilled Surgeon 2017” has Mikoto Saijou (Takumi Saito) working at a new hospital on the condition he will treat a pregnant teen patient who is having health problems.

“The Best Skilled Surgeon 2017” will air August 23, 2017 in Japan.

First still images of Kang Min-Hyuk in MBC drama series “Hospital Ship”

Here’s the first still images of images of Kang Min-Hyuk (‘CNBLUE’) in upcoming MBC drama series “Hospital Ship” co-starring Ha Ji-Won. In the drama series, Kang Min-Hyuk plays a public health doctor (a doctor who serves a rural area without doctors instead of serving in the military). His character has a warm heart and he grows up as a doctor after he meets Song Eun-Jae (Ha Ji-Won). This is the first time Kang Min-Hyuk has portrayed a doctor. To prep for his role, he has visited hospitals and practiced with doctors. He also learned medical terms and other medical information to better portray his character.

Ep.1 of “Hospital Ship” will now air August 30, 2017 in South Korea.

Marie Iitoyo and Yosuke Sugino cast in Fuji TV Two drama special “Aoi Tori Nante”

Marie Iitoyo and Yosuke Sugino are cast in Fuji TV Two drama special “Aoi Tori Nante.” The screenplay, by high school student Yuko Kuribayashi, is the winner of the 4th Drama Koshien contest. The contest is held by Fuji TV and they select a winning screenplay from submissions sent in by high school students. Story for “Aoi Tori Nante” will follow the relationship between two high school students as they take a bluebird to an animal clinic.

“Aoi Tori Nante” will air sometime this October in Japan.

Teaser 2 and teaser posters for JTBC drama series “Age of Youth Season 2”

Teaser trailer #2 and 2 two teaser posters for JTBC drama series “Age of Youth Season 2.” The teaser posters feature Han Ye-Ri, Han Seung-Yeon, Park Eun-Bin, Ji-Woo and Choi A-Ra. Filming for the teaser posters took place July 18, 2017 at a studio in Paju, South Korea. The teaser posters show new character Jo Eun (Choi A-Ra) moving into the share house occupied by housemates Yoon Jin-Myung (Han Ye-Ri), Jung Ye-Eun (Han Seung-Yeon), Song Ji-Won (Park Eun-Bin) and Yoo Eun-Jae (Ji-Woo).

“Age of Youth Season 2” first airs August 25, 2017 in South Korea.

Trailer added for movie “Tales of Chigasaki: My Little Hometown”

Trailer added for movie “Tales of Chigasaki: My Little Hometown” starring Ryunosuke Kamiki and Shuhei Nomura. The film is directed by Izuru Kumasaka (“Asyl: Park and Love Hotel“) and is part documentary and part live-action dramatization. Story for the film examines the city of Chigasaki in Kanagawa Prefecture and examines why the city produces so many entertainers.

“Tales of Chigasaki: My Little Hometown” will be released September 16, 2017 in Japan.

Hyeri and Choi Woo-Sik offered roles in MBC drama series “Two Cops”

Hyeri (‘Girl’s Day’) and Choi Woo-Sik have been offered roles for upcoming MBC drama series “Two Cops” starring Cho Jung-Seok. If Hyeri accepts, she will play lead the female character who works as a reporter. Han Ji-Min previously turned down this role due to scheduling issues. If Choi Woo-Sik accepts, he will play a major supporting character.

“Two Cops” will first air November, 2017 in South Korea.

Teaser posters and trailer for movie “The Poet and The Boy”

Teaser posters and main trailer added for upcoming movie “The Poet and The Boy” starring Yang Ik-June, Jeon Hye-Jin and Jung Ga-Ram. The film has Yang Ik-June playing an untalented poet. He has been unable to have a child with his wife, played by Jeon Hye-Jin, due to a low sperm count. He then meets a teenage boy, played by Jung Ga-Ram, who changes him.

“The Poet and The Boy” will be released September, 2017 in South Korea.

Teaser trailer for movie “I Can Speak”

Teaser trailer added for movie “I Can Speak” starring Lee Je-Hoon and Na Moon-Hee. Movie is directed by Kim Hyun-Seok (“Cyrano Agency“/”C’est si bon“). Story for “I Can Speak” follows a city hall employee (Lee Je-Hoon) and an elderly neighborhood resident (Na Moon-Hee). The city employee is somehow tasked with teaching the elderly woman English.

In addition, “I Can Speak” is now slotted for release sometime this September in South Korea.

Kim Moo-Yul cast in OCN drama series “Bad Guys 2”

Kim Moo-Yul is now cast in upcoming OCN drama series “Bad Guys 2.” He will join the main cast of Park Joong-Hoon, Joo Jin-Mo, Yang Ik-June and Ji Soo.

For the drama series, Kim Moo-Yul will play Prosecutor No Jin-Pyeong. The role was originally reserved for Kang Ha-Neul, but he had to drop out of the drama series due to scheduling conflicts. The character of Prosecutor No Jin-Pyeong begins work at the Seowon District Prosecutors’ Office. He gets involved with Woo Je-Moon (Park Joong-Hoon), Heo Il-Hoo (Joo Jin-Mo), Jang Sung-Cheol (Yang Ik-June) and Han Gang-Joo (Ji Soo). They attempt to punish a corrupt privileged group.

“Bad Guys 2” first airs December, 2017 in South Korea.
