Takayuki Yamada and Takeru Satoh cast in live-action film “Hard Core”

Takayuki Yamada and Takeru Satoh are cast for lead roles in live-action film “Hard Core.” In addition, YosiYosi Arakawa is cast in a supporting role. The movie is based on manga series “Hado Koa Heisei Jigoku Burazazu” by Takashi Imashiro and directed by Nobuhiro Yamashita. Takayuki Yamada and Takeru Satoh will play brothers in the film. Takayuki Yamada’s character works as a gold miner with his only friend played by YosiYosi Arakawa, while Takeru Satoh’s character works for a trading a company. They discover an old robot.

Filming for “Hard Core” takes place from August to September, 2017 in the suburbs of Tokyo.

First script reading for OCN drama series “Black”

First script reading for OCN drama series “Black” took place July 24, 2017 in Sangam-dong, Seoul, South Korea. At the first script reading, main cast members including Song Seung-Heon, Go Ara, Lee El and Kim Dong-Joon all attended. The characters they read for were Song Seung-Heon as Grim Reaper Black, Go Ara as Kang Ha-Ram, Lee El as Yoon Soo-Wan and Kim Dong-Joon as Man-Soo. The Grim Reaper Black is cold-hearted, but sometimes acts dumb. Kang Ha-Ram seems like a recluse and has a hard time communicating with other people, but she is actually tender and emotional. Yoon Soo-Wan works as an emergency room doctor and she is mysterious. Man-Soo is the son of a family that runs a large company.

“Black” first airs this October in South Korea.

Ep.1 air date set for KBS1 drama series “Andante”

Ep.1 air date for KBS1 drama series “Andante” is now set for Sunday, September 10, 2017 in South Korea. The drama series is the first KBS1 drama series to air on Sundays at 10 AM. Filming for “Andante” finished March 12, 2017. The drama series stars Kai (‘EXO-K’) as high school student Lee Shi-Kyung. He moves out to the country and learns about life and love.

First still images for movie “Criminal City”

Here’s the first still images of Ma Dong-Seok and Yoon Kye-Sang in upcoming movie “Criminal City” (literal title). The movie is based on the real life “Heuksapa Incident” that occurred in 2007. Detectives in South Korea arrested 32 people who were part of a criminal ring from Yanbian, China. In the film, Ma Dong-Seok plays Detective Squad Chief Ma Suk-Do. He attempts to take down a criminal ring led by Jang Chen (Yoon Kye-Sang).

Additionally, the release date for “Criminal City” is now set for October 4, 2017 in South Korea.

Minah offered lead role in MBC drama series “I’m Not a Robot”

Minah from idol group ‘Girl’s Day’ has been offered the lead female role in new MBC drama series “I’m Not a Robot” (literal title). Currently, Minah is considering the offer. If she accepts, she will play Jo Ji-A. Her character is athletic, but not so intelligent. She is also outgoing and helps out others when they are in need. She also has a vast knowledge of cars due to her father running an auto repair shop. The lead male character in the drama series has never had a girlfriend due to his allergy of other people. He falls in love with a robot.

“I’m Not a Robot” will first air this October in South Korea (airs Wednesday and Thursday at 10PM following the conclusion of “Hospital Ship“).

Bona offered lead female role in KBS2 drama series “Lingerie Girls’ Generation”

Bona from idol group ‘WJSN’ (aka ‘Cosmic Girls’) has been offered the lead female role in upcoming KBS2 drama series “Lingerie Girls’ Generation” (literal title). Lee Jong-Hyun from idol group ‘CNBLUE’ has already received an offer to play the lead male role. Both performers are now “positively considering” their offers. If Bona accepts, she will play Lee Jung-Hee. Her character is a high school student and the second daughter of a family that runs a toy factory.

“Lingerie Girls’ Generation” first airs September 11, 2017 in South Korea.

Hiroto Kanai, Chizuru Ikewaki & Masanobu Ando cast in movie “Kirakira Megane”

Hiroto Kanai, Chizuru Ikewaki & Masanobu Ando are cast in movie “Kirakira Megane.” The screenplay is based on 2015 novel “Kirakira Megane” by Akio Morisawa and directed by Kazutoshi Inudo. Story for “Kirakira Megane” follows a man (Hiroto Kana) that grieves over his deceased cat and decides to buy a used book. He finds a business card for a woman (Chizuru Ikewaki) inside the book. The man contacts the woman and they meet. Filming for the movie begins at the end of September, 2017 in Chiba Prefecture.

“Kirakira Megane” will be released sometime next year in Japan.
