Mao Inoue cast in Fuji TV drama series “Tomorrow’s Promise”

Mao Inoue is cast in new Fuji TV drama series “Tomorrow’s Promise” (literal title of “Ashita no Yakusoku”). In the drama series, Mao Inoue will play a 29-year-old high school counselor. She investigates the death of a male student who came to visit her. Also cast in the drama series are Asuka Kudo, Yua Shinkawa and Mitsuhiro Oikawa. Drama series will be directed by Masato Hijikata and scripted by Kazunao Furuya.

“Tomorrow’s Promise” first airs this October in Japan.

Shota Matsuda and Tae Min cast in Amazon drama series “Final Life”

Shota Matsuda and Tae Min (‘SHINee’) are cast for lead roles in new online Amazon drama series “Final Life.” This will be the first time for Tae Min to take part in a Japanese drama series. Also cast in supporting roles are Miori Takimoto, Shigeyuki Totsugi, Maho Nonami and Sho Aikawa.

In addition, a one minute teaser trailer for “Final Life” has been added on AsianWiki. “Final Life” first streams September 8, 2017 in Japan.

Release date set for live-action film “Along With The Gods”

Release date is now set for December 20, 2017 for upcoming live-action film “Along With The Gods.” The movie stars Ha Jung-Woo, Cha Tae-Hyun, Ju Ji-Hoon and Ma Dong-Seok. Story for the film is based on popular webcomic “Singwa Hamgge” by Joo Ho-Min and directed by Kim Yong-Hwa. Movie “Along With The Gods” is set in the afterlife and revolves around Angels of Deaths and trials held for recently deceased humans. The film will be released in two parts (with part 2 coming sometime during summer, 2018).

Song Ji-Hyo offered lead role in tvN drama special “Assistant Manager B and Love Letter”

Song Ji-Hyo has received an offer to play the main character in new tvN drama special  “Assistant Manager B and Love Letter” (literal title). Currently, Song Ji-Hyo is “positively considering” the offer. If she accepts, Song Ji-Hyo will play Bang Ga-Young. She is a single, 34-year-old woman who has never dated a man in her life.

“Assistant Manager B and Love Letter” will air sometime this December in South Korea.

Moon Chae-Won cast in period film “Propitious Site for Grave”

Moon Chae-Won is cast in period film “Propitious Site for Grave” (literal title) starring Cho Seung-Woo, Ji Sung and Kim Sung-Kyun. In the movie, Moon Chae-Won will play a gisaeng named Cho-Sun. Also cast in supporting roles are Baek Yoon-Sik, Yoo Jae-Myung, Lee Won-Geun, Kim Min-Jae and Kang Tae-Oh. Movie is directed by Park Hee-Kon (“Insadong Scandal“) and filming began August 22, 2017.

“Propitious Site for Grave” will be released sometime next year in South Korea.
