Yoon Gyun-Sang and Jung Hye-Sung cast in SBS drama series “Doubtful Victory”

Yoon Gyun-Sang and Jung Hye-Sung are now cast for lead roles in upcoming SBS drama series “Doubtful Victory” (literal title). For the drama series, Yoon Gyun-Sang will play Oh Il-Seung. He is a detective and 28-years-old, but, due to complicated reasons, he has the emotional age of someone 18-years-old. Jung Hye-Sung will play Jin Jin-Young. She became a detective to reveal the truth behind her father’s death.

“Doubtful Victory” first airs November 27, 2017 in South Korea.

Bae Doo-Na cast in Netflix drama series “Kingdom”

Bae Doo-Na is now cast in upcoming Netflix period drama series “Kingdom.” The drama series is based on webcomic “Burning Hell Shinui Nara” by Kim Eun-Hee. Currently, actors Ju Ji-Hoon and Ryoo Seung-Ryong are still considering offers to play leading male roles in the drama series. For “Kingdom,” Bae Doo-Na will play uinyeo Seo-Bi. An “uinyeo” is a physician who specialized in treating woman during the Joseon era.

“Kingdom” will premiere sometime during the second half of next year.

Main trailer and poster for movie “Method”

Main poster and trailer added for upcoming movie “Method” starring Park Sung-Woong, Yoon Seung-Ah and Oh Seung-Hoon. Movie is directed by Pang Eun-Jin. The caption on the poster states “We Were Perfect.” Story for “Method” follows an actor (Park Sung-Woong) and an idol (Oh Seung-Hoon) as they are cast in a gay themed 2-man stage play. As they get more involved in the play, the actor’s girlfriend (Yoon Seung-Ah) gets a strange feeling about the the two men’s relationship.

“Method” will have its world premiere at this year’s Busan International Film Festival (Oct. 12-21, 2017) and its general release November 2, 2017 in South Korea.

First script reading for MBC drama series “Money Flower”

First script reading for upcoming MBC weekend drama series “Money Flower” took place September 26, 2017 at MBC Dream Center in Ilsan, South Korea. At the first script reading, main cast members Jang Hyuk, Park Se-Young, Jang Seung-Jo, Han So-Hee and Lee Soon-Jae all attended. In the drama series, Jang Hyuk plays a man who grew up in an orphanage, but is now a successful CEO of a company. Park Se-Young plays Na Mo-Hyun. She dreams of having fateful type of love. Jang Seung-Jo plays Jang Boo-Cheon. He decides to marry Na Mo-Hyun for company succession reasons.

“Money Flower” first airs November 4, 2017 in South Korea (takes over MBC’s Saturday and Sunday 10PM time slot after “Bad Thief, Good Thief“).

First script reading for MBC drama series “Two Cops”

First script reading for MBC drama series “Two Cops” took place late September, 2017 at MBC Dream Center in Ilsan, South Korea. At the first script reading, about 20 actors and actresses gathered including main cast members Cho Jung-Seok, Hyeri (‘Girl’s Day’), Kim Sun-Ho, Hoya (‘INFINITE’) and Lee Si-Un. The first script reading took about 4 hours to finish. The drama series features Cho Jung-Seok playing two different characters. He plays Detective Cha Dong-Tak and his character gets possessed by the spirit of a swindler named
Kong Soo-Chang.

“Two Cops” first airs November, 2017 in South Korea (takes over MBC’s Monday and Tuesday 10PM time slot after “20th Century Boy and Girl“).

Takuya Kimura and Masami Nagasawa are cast in movie “Masquerade Hotel”

Takuya Kimura and Masami Nagasawa are cast in movie “Masquerade Hotel.” The film is based on 2011 novel “Masquerade Hotel” by Keigo Higashino. The movie also reunites director Masayuki Suzuki and actor Takuya Kimura. The pair famously worked together in hit Fuji TV drama series “Hero” and movie “Hero.” Story for “Masquerade Hotel” has Takuya Kimura playing a detective and Masami Nagasawa playing a front desk clerk at a hotel. A serial killer has left clues that his next murder will take place at the hotel and Takuya Kimura’s character goes undercover as a front desk clerk to catch the killer.

Filming for “Masquerade Hotel” began October 7, 2017 and will finish in the middle of next month. The film will be released sometime in 2019.

Yoon Gyun-Sang and Jung Hye-Sung offered lead roles in SBS drama series “Doubtful Victory”

Yoon Gyun-Sang and Jung Hye-Sung have been offered lead roles in upcoming SBS drama series “Doubtful Victory.” They are both currently considering their offers. If Yoon Gyun-Sang accepts, he will play Oh Il-Seung. His character is a detective. His name “Il-Seung” also means “Victory.” If Jung Hye-Sung accepts, she will play Jin Jin-Young. She is also a detective.

In addition, Yono Gyun-Sang is still considering an offer to play the lead male role in KBS2 drama series “Jugglers.”  Both drama series are currently scheduled to air at the same time this winter. “Doubtful Victory” will first air November 27, 2017 in South Korea (takes over SBS’ Monday and Tuesday 10PM time slot after “Temperature of Love“).

Teaser poster for movie “Steel Rain”

Teaser poster for movie “Steel Rain” starring Jung Woo-Sung and Kwak Do-Won. Movie is based on webcomic “Steel Rain” by Yang Woo-Suk and directed by Yang Woo-Seok. Story for “Steel Rain” is set in the near future. When a coup takes place in North Korea and the North Korean leader flees to South Korea and a crisis ensues. North Korean official (Jung Woo-Sung) and South Korean official (Kwak Do-Won) go on a secret mission to prevent war.

In addition 10 promotional video clips for the upcoming film have been added on AsianWiki. “Steel Rain” will be released sometime this December in South Korea.

Trailer for movie “Kita no Sakuramori”

Trailer added for upcoming movie “Kita no Sakuramori” starring Sayuri Yoshinaga and Masato Sakai. Movie is directed by Yojiro Takita (“Departures“). Story for the film follows the relationship between a mother and her son. In 1945, the mother played by Sayuri Yoshinaga fled with her two sons from the Russians to Hokkaido. In 1972, her son played by Masato Sakai returns to Japan after finding success in the U.S.

“Kita no Sakuramori” will be released March 10, 2018 in Japan.
