Kyoko Yoshine is cast in Fuji TV live-action drama series “Princess Jellyfish”

Kyoko Yoshine is cast in Fuji TV live-action drama series “Princess Jellyfish.” The drama series is based on manga series “Kuragehime” by Akiko Higashimura which was previously adapted into 2014 live-action film “Princess Jellyfish.” In the drama series version, Kyoko Yoshine will play 20-year-old illustrator Tsukimi Kurashita. She meets Tsukimi Kurashita who likes to dress up like a woman because of his love of fashion. Her life soon changes because of him and his older brother.

“Princess Jellyfish” will be released January, 2018 in Japan.

Ko Hyun-Jung and Lee Jin-Wook cast in SBS drma series “Return”

Ko Hyun-Jung and Lee Jin-Wook are cast for lead roles in new SBS drama series “Return.” Ko Hyun-Jung will play Choi Ja-Hye. She is a host of TV court show “Return” and also a lawyer.  Lee Jin-Wook will play Dokgo Young. He is a detective.  Park Ki-Woong is also cast in a supporting role. Park Ki-Woong will play Kang In-Ho. His character is the director a large company.

“Return” will first air Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10PM beginning January, 2018 in South Korea.

Shin Se-Kyung’s still images are from set at a castle in Slovenia. Filming in Slovenia took place from October 23, 2017 to November 1, 2017. Shin Se-Kyung, Kim Rae-Won and other cast members took part in filming in Slovenia. For the drama series Shin Se-Kyung plays Jung Hae-Ra. She works at a travel agency and supports her family.

Takayuki Yamada and Masami Nagasawa cast in remake film “50th First Kiss”

Takayuki Yamada and Masami Nagasawa are cast in remake film “50th First Kiss” (literal title). The film is a remake of 2004 U.S. film “50 First Dates” starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore. Filming for “50th First Kiss” took place in Hawaii and finished in about a month. Story for “50th First Kiss” has Takayuki Yamada playing tour guide Daisuke Yuge. He falls in love with Rui Fujishima (Masami Nagasawa) on fist sight, but Rui Fujishima though suffers from memory loss due to a past accident. Movie will be directed by Yuichi Fukuda.

“50th First Kiss” opens June 1, 2018 in Japan.

Ryosuke Yamada cast in NTV drama series “Momikeshite Fuyu”

Ryosuke Yamada (‘Hey! Say! JUMP’) is cast for the lead role in NTV drama series “Momikeshite Fuyu.” Also cast in supporting roles are Haru, Yukiyoshi Ozawa and Baijaku Nakamura. The drama series is scripted by Shigeki Kaneko and directed by Satoru Nakajima. In the drama series, Ryosuke Yamada will play Shusaku Kitazawa. He is the youngest child in a family with a middle school principal as a father and two older siblings. He works as a police officer and comes into conflict to help his family. The drama series is described as a home-comedy.

Ryusei Fujii & Takahiro Hamada cast in NTV drama series “Sotsugyo Bakamentari”

Ryusei Fujii (‘Johnny’s West’) & Takahiro Hamada (‘Johnny’s West’) cast in new NTV drama series “Sotsugyo Bakamentari.” Also cast in supporting roles are Koki Maeda, Yasunao Yoshida and Hirofumi Arai. Story for the drama series will follow four friends who will graduate from a prestigious university in 90 days. They spent most of their time studying and they try to find girls who fit their ideal types. Drama series will be scripted by Jiro and directed by Kazuaki Hashimoto.

Ju Ji-Hoon & Ryoo Seung-Ryong cast in Netflix drama series “Kingdom”

Ju Ji-Hoon & Ryoo Seung-Ryong are cast for upcoming Netflix drama series “Kingdom” co-starring Bae Doo-Na. Filming for the drama series began at the end of last month. For Ju Ji-Hoon, he will play the Crown Prince of Joseon. He investigates a mysterious epidemic and uncovers a truth that threatens the country. Ryoo Seung-Ryong will play Jo Hak-Joo. His character actually wields more power than the King.

“Kingdom” will be available to stream on Netflix sometime next year.

Lee Seung-Gi cast in tvN drama series “Hwayuki”

Lee Seung-Gi is cast for the lead male role in upcoming tvN drama series “Hwayuki” co-starring Cha Seung-Won and Oh Yeon-Seo. In the drama series, Lee Seung-Gi will play Son O-Gong. His character possesses a special power and he excels in the martial arts. He commits a major misdeed in Heaven which causes him to get kicked out and sent to Earth. While among the humans, Son O-Gong gets involved with King Wooma (Cha Seung-Won) and Jin Sun-Mi (Oh Yeon-Seo ). Son O-Gong and King Wooma then begin a journey  to sweep out the demons disturbing this world. For Lee Seung-Gi, this will be his first acting role since being discharged from the military on October 31, 2017. The drama series is based on the classic Chinese novel“Journey to the West,” but set in the present day.

“Hwayuki” will first air December, 2017 in South Korea.
