Kim Dong-Joon cast in tvN drama series “About Time”

Kim Dong-Joon (‘ZE:A’) is cast for a major supporting character role in tvN drama series “About Time.” Kim Dong-Joon will play the character of Jo Jae-Yoo which Lee Seo-Won was originally cast for. Lee Seo-Won was recently dropped from the drama series due to a sexual harassment incident that became public recently. On April 8, 2018, Lee Seo-Won was alleged to have been drunk and he then tried to touch an unnamed actress, but his advances was rebuffed. Lee Seo-Won persisted in trying to touch the actress and eventually the actress called her boyfriend for help. Lee Seo-Won is then alleged to have threatened the actress. Staff from “About Time” learned about the incident on May 16, 2018 and made the decision to drop Lee Seo-Won from the drama series that day.

Kim Dong-Joon will re-film all scenes already filmed with Lee Seo-Won. The character of Jo Jae-Yoo works as a musical director. “About Time” will first air as originally planned on May 21, 2018 in South Korea.

Teaser trailer #5 for tvN drama series “What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim”

Teaser trailer #5 added for upcoming tvN drama series “What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim” starring Park Seo-Joon and Park Min-Young. In the drama series, Park Seo-Joon plays extremely vain executive Lee Young-Joon. The teaser trailer has Park Min-Young as Kim Mi-So screaming across a water fountain “Vice-President, please accept my resignation!” Park Seo-Joon as Lee Young-Joon yells back “Specially today, I will accept your heart.” Kim Mi-So then clarifies, “No! … my resignation.”

Hikaru Yamazaki cast in movie “Makuko”

Hikaru Yamazaki is cast for main character role in movie “Makuko.” Also cast in supporting roles are NinonTsuyoshi Kusanagi and Risa Sudo. The film follows 5th grade student Satoshi played by Hikaru Yamazaki. Ninon will play transfer student Kozue, while Tsuyoshi Kusanagi and Risa Sudo will play the parents of Satoshi. Movie “Makuko” is based on 2016 novel “Makuko” by Kanako Nishi (“The Round Table“) and directed by Keiko Tsuruoka.

“Makuko” will be released sometime next year in Japan.

Two main posters and teaser trailer #3 for JTBC drama series “Sketch”

Here’s two main posters for upcoming thriller-action drama series “Sketch” starring Rain, Lee Dong-Gun, Lee Sun-Bin and Jung Jin-Young. Caption on the poster states “72 hours, have to face sketched fate.” In the drama series, Lee Sun-Bin plays a woman who can see 3 days into the future and sketches what she sees. In addition, teaser trailer #3 has been added on AsianWiki.

“Sketch” first airs May 25, 2018  in South Korea.

Gou Ayano cast in TV Asahi drama series “Hagetaka”

Gou Ayano is cast in new TV Asahi drama series “Hagetaka.” The drama series is based on novel series “Hagetaka” by Jin Mayama. 2009 movie “The Vulture” and 2007 NHK drama series “Hagetaka: Road to Rebirth” are also based on novels from the same series. In the drama series, Gou Ayano will play main character Masahiko Washizu. He is called a vulture due to his penchant to buy companies during the company’s time of weakness.

“Hagetaka” first airs July, 2018 in Japan.

Yang Se-Jong & Shin Hye-Sun cast in SBS drama series “Thirty But Seventeen”

Yang Se-JongShin Hye-Sun are cast for lead roles in SBS drama series “Thirty But Seventeen” (literal title). Yang Se-Jong previously played the lead male role in 2017 SBS drama series “Temperature of Love” and Shin Hye-Sun previously played a lead female role in hit KBS2 drama series “My Golden Life.” For “Thirty But Seventeen,” Yang Se-Jong and Shin Hye-Sun will play romantic interests Gong Woo-Jin and Woo Seo-Ri. Woo Seo-Ri was in a coma for 13 years and, because of this, she has the mental capability of a 17-year-old even though she is 30.

“Thirty But Seventeen” will first air July, 2018 in South Korea (takes over SBS’ Monday and Tuesday 10PM time slot after “Wok of Love“).

Tatsuya Fujiwara cast in movie “Diner”

Tatsuya Fujiwara is cast in movie “Diner.” The film is based on 2012 novel “Diner” by Yumeaki Hirayama and the movie is directed by Mika Ninagawa. For Mika Ninagawa, “Diner” is her third directed feature film following 2007 film “Sakuran” and 2012 film “Helter Skelter.” In the movie, Tatsuya Fujiwara will play Bombero. He is the owner and chef of a members only restaurant whose clients are all contract killers.

Filming for “Diner” started April 24, 2018 and filming will finish early next month. “Diner” will be released sometime next year in Japan.
