Gong Yoo cast in movie “Seo Bok”

Gong Yoo is cast in new movie “Seo Bok.” The film is based on a classic Chinese story “Xu Fu,” but reinterpreted into a modern setting. The film will be directed by Lee Yong-Joo who last directed the memorable romance film “Architecture 101.” In movie “Seo Bok,” Gong Yoo will play an ex-secret agent. He becomes involved in saving a human clone who holds the secret to eternal life.

Filming for “Seo Bok” will  begin sometime during the first half of next year in South Korea.

English subtitled trailer for movie “Love At Least”

English subtitled trailer for movie “Love At Least” starring Shuri and Masaki Suda. The trailer stands on its for a captivating two minute video & audio experience. “Love At Least” is based on novel “Ikiteru Dake de, Ai” by Yukiko Motoya and directed by Kosai Sekine. The trailer also features the movie’s theme song which is “1/5000” by Hiroko Sebu.

“Love At Least” will be released November 9, 2018 in Japan.

Ha Ji-Won drops out of drama MBC series “Prometheus”

Ha Ji-Won has dropped out of upcoming MBC drama series “Prometheus” co-starring Jin Goo. According to Ha Ji-Won’s management company Haewadal Entertainment, Ha Ji-Won has left the drama series. No specific reason were given by her management company, but they did state that her reason for leaving will be announced at a later date. “Prometheus” would have been Ha Ji-Won’s first acting role since the death of her brother in January, 2018.

“Prometheus” is tentatively scheduled to air sometime during the first half of next year in South Korea.

Teaser posters for movie “Sovereign Default’s Day”

Here’s two teaser posters for upcoming movie “Sovereign Default’s Day” (literal title) starring Kim Hye-Soo and Yoo Ah-In. The film is set in 1997, during the IMF crisis in South Korea. Caption on the first teaser poster states in Korean “Year 1997 The Day Which Changed Everyone’s Fate” and the caption on the second poster states “Nobody is Warned.”

Lastly, the teaser posters reveals that “Sovereign Default’s Day” will be released November 28, 2018 in South Korea.

Two main posters for tvN drama series “Mama Fairy and the Woodcutter”

Here’s two main posters for tvN drama series “Mama Fairy and the Woodcutter” (English title) starring Moon Chae-Won, Yoon Hyun-Min and Seo Ji-Hoon. The first poster is of Moon Chae-Won, Yoon Hyun-Min, Seo Ji-Hoon and Kang Mi-Na (‘Gugudan’). The second poster is of Ko Du-Shim, Yoon Hyun-Min, Seo Ji-Hoon and a big tiger. Moon Chae-Won and Ko Du-Shim both play the character of Sun Ok-Nam.

“Mama Fairy and the Woodcutter” first airs November 5, 2018 in South Korea.

Kento Yamazaki cast in live-action film “Kingdom”

Kento Yamazaki is cast for the lead role in live-action film “Kingdom.” The film is based on manga series “Kingdom” by Yasuhisa Hara and directed by Shinsuke Sato. Cast in supporting roles are Ryo YoshizawaMasami Nagasawa,Kanna Hashimoto and Takao Osawa. Filming for the movie has already been completed. Filming began April, 2018 in China and then took place in Japan for another one and a half months. The film is set in Qin Dynasty during the warring states period in China. Kento Yamazaki plays Shin who dreams of becoming a great military general. Ryo Yoshizawa will play two characters: Eisei (young King) and Hyou (childhood friend of Shin).

Meanwhile the first trailer for “Kingdom” has been added on AsianWiki. “Kingdom” will be released April 19, 2019.
