Cha Seung-Won, Kim Sung-Kyun & Lee Kwang-Soo cast in movie “Sinkhole”

Cha Seung-Won, Kim Sung-Kyun and Lee Kwang-Soo are cast in disaster-comedy film “Sinkhole” (working title). The film will be directed by Kim Ji-Hoon (“Sector 7“/”The Tower“). The film will follow residents who become trapped after a sinkhole occurs. Cha Seung-Won will play villa owner Jung Man-Soo. Kim Sung-Kyun and Lee Kwang-Soo will play co-workers Park Dong-Won and Kim Seung-Hyun. They become trapped in a home owned by Park Dong-Won. Filming for the movie will begin August, 2019 in South Korea.

“Sinkhole” will be released sometime next year in South Korea.

First script reading for “Love’s Emergency Landing”

First script reading for tvN drama series “Love’s Emergency Landing” (literal title) took place July 31, 2019 in Sangam, Seoul, South Korea. The first script reading included Son Ye-Jin, Hyun-Bin, Seo Ji-Hye, Kim Jung-Hyun, Oh Man-Seok, Kim Young-Min, Kim Sun-Young, Jang So-Yeon, Nam Kyoung-Eub, Jang Hye-Jin and Park Hyoung-Soo. The drama series follows a woman (Son Ye-Jin) who experiences a paragliding accident and lands in North Korea.

“Love’s Emergency Landing” first airs sometime in the second half of this year in South Korea.

Fuji TV set to air live-action drama series “Hana ni Kedamono Second Season”

Fuji TV is set to air live-action drama series “Hana ni Kedamono Second Season” from August 26, 2019 in Japan. The drama series is based on manga series “Hana ni Kedamono” by Miwako Sugiyama and is set about 30 months after the first season “Hana ni Kedamono.” “Hana ni Kedamono Second Season” will feature an original screenplay. The drama series was already released through online streaming platforms dTV-FOD from March 23, 2019. Yurika Nakamura, Yosuke Sugino, Takashi Matsuo and Shouma Kai will reprise their respective lead character roles.

Fumino Kimura cast in WOWOW drama series “Butterfly’s Mechanics: Murder Analysis Squad”

Fumino Kimura is cast for the lead role in WOWOW drama series “Butterfly’s Mechanics: Murder Analysis Squad” (literal title). The drama series is based on 2017 novel “Chou no Rikigaku: Keishicho Satsujin Bunsekihan” by Kazushi Asami. For the drama series, Fumino Kimura will reprise her role of Detective Toko Kisaragi whom she also played in 2015 WOWOW drama series “Stone’s Cocoon” and 2016 WOWOW drama series “Crystal’s Beating.” Both of those drama series are based on different novels by Kazushi Asami. Meanwhile, spin-off drama series “Evil’s Wave” is now set to air October 6, 2019 in Japan.

“Butterfly’s Mechanics: Murder Analysis Squad” will first air November, 2019 in Japan.

First script reading for KBS2 drama series “The Tale of Nokdu”

First script reading for KBS2 drama series “The Tale of Nokdu” (English title), starring Jang Dong-Yoon, Kim So-Hyun and Kang Tae-Oh, took place June, 2019 at KBS Annex Broadcasting Station in Yeouido, South Korea. The first script reading included Jang Dong-Yoon, Kim So-Hyun, Kang Tae-Oh, Jung Joon-Ho, Kim Tae-Woo, Lee Seung-Joon, Lee Moon-Sik, Song Geon-Hee, Jo Soo-Hyang, Ko Gun-Han among others. The drama series tells a period romance story between a man (Jang Dong-Yoon) who dresses like a woman and Dong Dong-Ju (Kim So-Hyun (1999)) who is an apprentice to become a gisaeng.

“The Tale of Nokdu” first airs September 30, 2019 in South Korea (takes over KBS2’s Monday & Tuesday 10PM time slot after “I Wanna Hear Your Song“).

Teaser trailer and teaser poster added for movie “Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku” starring Mitsuki Takahata and Kento Yamazaki. Movie is based on webcomic “Wotaku ni Koi ha Muzukashii” by Fujita  and directed by Yuichi Fukuda (“Gintama“). The teaser begins with narration that states in Japanese “Otaku…people who live the dream..”

“Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku” will be released February 7, 2020 in Japan.

“The King: Monarch of Eternity” to air on SBS in first half of 2020

Drama series “The King: Monarch of Eternity” (literal title) is now scheduled to air on SBS sometime during the first half of 2020. The much anticipated drama series stars Lee Min-Ho, Kim Go-Eun and Woo Do-Hwan in lead roles and is scripted by popular screenwriter Kim Eun-Sook (“Descendants of the Sun“/”Goblin“/”Mr. Sunshine“). The drama series will be Lee Min-Ho’s first acting performance since being discharged from the South Korean military on April 25, 2019. For screenwriter Kim Eun-Sook, her last scripted drama series to air on SBS was “The Heirs” in 2003.
