Ryu Jun-Yeol and Sul Kyung-Gu cast in Netflix drama “The Rat”

Ryu Jun-Yeol and Sul Kyung-Gu are cast in Netflix drama series “The Rat” (working title). The drama series is based on webcomic “Deuljwee” by Ludovico and directed by Kim Hong-Sun (“Dear Hongrang“). In the thriller drama series, Ryu Jun-Yeol will play novelist and social recluse Mun-Jae. When he is unable to unlock his cellphone, he realizes that someone known as Rat has stolen everything from him. Sul Kyung-Gu will play loan shark and private detective No-Ja. Mun-Jae actually borrowed money from him 3 years and disappeared, but he now turns No-Ja to help him find Rat. This is the first time Ryu Jun-Yeol and Sul Kyung-Gu will work together in their acting careers.

Teaser trailer and teaser poster for movie “Noise”

Teaser trailer and teaser poster added for movie “Noise” starring Lee Sun-Bin, Kim Min-Suk, and Han Su-A. Movie is a horror-thriller film set at an apartment where two sisters have moved in. Lee Sun-Bin and Han Su-A play sisters, but once they move in, they begin to notice strange noises that come from the apartment floors. The teaser trailer begins with Ryu Kyung-Soo, who plays a man that lives beneath the two sisters, stating “I am the person that lives downstairs. Can you keep it quiet at night, before I rip your mouth off?”

“Noise” will be released June, 2025 in South Korea.

Jun Matsumoto cast in TBS drama “The 19th Medical Chart”

Jun Matsumoto is cast in TBS drama series “The 19th Medical Chart.” The drama series is based on webcomic “19 Banme no Karte” by Katsuhito Fujiya. For Jun Matsumoto, the drama series will mark his first time playing a doctor in his 30 year acting career. Jun Matsumoto will play Akira Tokushige in “The 19th Medical Chart.” He works as a general practitioner and relies on conversations with his patients to find out what is best for them.

“The 19th Medical Chart” will first air July, 2025 in Japan (takes over TBS’ Sunday 9PM time slot after “News Anchor“).

Hana Sugisaki cast for the lead role in movie “Meets the World”

Hana Sugisaki is cast for the lead role in movie “Meets the World.” Movie is based on 2022 novel “Meets the World” by Hitomi Kanehara and directed by Daigo Matsui (“Sweet Poolside“). The first teaser poster and teaser trailer has also been released for the upcoming movie, with the trailer being available for view at AsianWiki. In the movie, Hana Sugisaki will play otaku Yukari. Anxious about all her friends leaving her to get married, she decides to find a person to marry and goes on a blind date. Things don’t go well for her, when she meets a beautiful hostess named Rai.

“Meets the World” will be released October 24, 2025 in Japan.

First teaser trailer added for KBS2 drama series “The First Night With the Duke” starring Seohyun & TaecYeon. The fantasy-romance drama series is based on web novel “Namjuui Cheotnalbameul Gajeobeoryeodda” by Hwang Dotol. Teaser trailer added for U+tv drama series “Hunter With A Scalpel” starring Park Ju-Hyun, Park Yong-Woo, & Kang Hoon. Han Ji-Min, Park Sung-Hoon, & Lee Ki-Taek are cast in JTBC drama series “Efficient Encounter of Single Men and Women” (literal title). Also cast for supporting roles are actresses Jung Hye-Sung and Kim So-Hye. The romance drama series is based on webcomic “Mihonnamnyeoui Hyoyuljeok Mannam” by Tari and will be directed by Lee Jae-Hoon (“Divorce Attorney Shin“). In the upcoming drama series, Han Ji-Min will play Lee Ui-Young. She is a successful woman in her work life, but not so successful in her personal life. She decides to change her fortune, by going on blind dates. She meets two men played by Park Sung-Hoon & Lee Ki-Taek.

“Efficient Encounter of Single Men and Women” will first air sometime next year in South Korea.

Haruka Fukuhara & Kento Hayashi cast in Fuji TV drama “Ashita wa Motto, Ii Hi ni Naru”

Haruka Fukuhara and Kento Hayashi are cast in Fuji TV drama series “Ashita wa Motto, Ii Hi ni Naru.” The drama series features an original screenplay that is set at a child guidance center. Haruka Fukuhara will play Tsubasa Natsui. She worked as a detective at a local precinct, but is transferred to the child guidance center. Kento Hayashi will play Sosuke Kurata. He works at the child guidance center and becomes a mentor to Tsubasa Natsui.

Jung Hae-In & Ha-Young cast in Netflix drama “Lovestuck”

Jung Hae-In and Ha-Young are cast in Netflix drama series “Lovestuck.” The drama series is a romantic-comedy, but tells an unusual tale between a former gang member, now boxing coach (Jung Hae-In) and a prosecutor (Ha-Young). Drama series is scripted by Mo Ji-Hye and directed by Kim Jang-Han. They previously worked together in 2021 Wavve drama series “You Raise Me Up.”

Release date for “Lovestuck” has not yet been revealed.
