Masaki Suda & Yang Ik-June cast in movie “Aa, Koya”

Masaki Suda & Yang Ik-June are cast in new movie “Aa, Koya.” The film is based on the novel 1966 novel “Aa, Koya” by Shuji Terayama and directed by Zenko Kishi (“Double Life“). In the film, Masaki Suda plays Shinji. His character came out of a youth detention center and later goes to a boxing gym. There he meets Barikan (Yang Ik-June) – a man with a speech impediment and extreme shyness. They become friends and pursue boxing while surrounded by bleakness. Yang Ik-June is the South Korean actor/director who directed 2009 film “Breathless.”

“Aa, Koya” will be released sometime next year in Japan.

Rika Adachi cast in movie “The Badly-Bruised Devil”

Rika Adachi is cast in upcoming movie “The Badly-Bruised Devil” (original webtoon English title). The movie is based on webtoon”Kizudarake no Akuma” by Volvox Sumikawa and directed by Santa Yamagishi (“Zenin, Kataomoi“). Also cast in supporting roles are Manami Enosawa, Kayano Masuyama, Yui Okada, Tomu Fujita, Koji Kominami.

In the upcoming film, Rika Adachi will play main character Mai Kasai. Her character is bullied at her new high school.

“The Badly-Bruised Devil” will be released February, 2017 in Japan.

Teaser trailer for “High & Low The Red Rain”

Teaser trailer added for upcoming “High & Low The Red Rain” starring Takahiro (‘EXILE’), Hiroomi Tosaka & Takumi Saito.

Story for “High & Low The Red Rain” will focus on the Amamiya Brothers consisting of Masaki Amamiya (Takahiro) and Hiroto Amamiya (Hiroomi Tosaka). The film also introduces a third Amamiya brother, Takeru Amamiya, played by Takumi Saito. The three brothers lost their parents when they were young and relied only on each other afterwards. Takeru Amamiya is now missing.

“High & Low The Red Rain” will be released October 8, 2016 in Japan.

Toma Ikuta, Eita & Tsubasa Honda cast in movie “The Mole Song 2”

Toma Ikuta, Eita & Tsubasa Honda are cast in sequel film “The Mole Song 2” (placeholder title). Movie is directed by Takashi Miike & screenplay by Kankuro Kudo – they previously worked together with Tom Ikuta in the original 2014 film “The Mole Song: Undercover Agent Reiji.” Also cast in the film are Arata Furuta, Nanao, Riisa Naka, Yusuke Kamiji, Mitsuru Fukikoshi, Kenichi Endo, Sarutoki Minagawa, Koichi Iwaki and Shinichi Tsutsumi.

Eita, Tsubasa Honda, Arata Furuta and Nanao are new cast members who did not appear in the first film. Story for the sequel film will be set in Hong Kong and has Reiji Kikukawa (Toma Ikuta) going undercover to tackle the Chinese mafia. Eita will play Shinya Kabuto. His character is the newly appoint chief of the organized crime division and he goes after Reiji Kikukawa. Tsubasa Honda will play Karen Todoroki. Her character is the daughter of the crime boss for the Sukiyaki gang. Arata Furuta will play yakuza Momoji Sakuraba. Actress Nanao will play Fufon. Her character is a Chinese assassin for hire.

“The Mole Song 2” will be released December 23, 2016 in Japan.
