Tatsuya Fujiwara & Hideaki Ito cast in movie “22 nenme no Kokuhaku”

Tatsuya Fujiwara & Hideaki Ito are cast in new movie “22 nenme no Kokuhaku.” The movie is a remake of 2012 South Korean film “Confession of Murder” and will be directed by Yu Irie (“8000 Miles“). In the film “22 nenme no Kokuhaku,” Hideaki Ito will play detective Ko Makimura. He was in charge of a serial murder case back in 1995, but the killer has been able to evade police to this day. Then, a writer played by Tatsuya Fujiwara publishes a book claiming to be the killer from the serial murder cases.

“22 nenme no Kokuhaku” will be released sometime during summer, 2017 in Japan.

Jun Matsumoto & Kasumi Arimura cast in movie “Narratage”

Jun Matsumoto (‘Arashi’) & Kasumi Arimura are cast in new movie “Narratage.” The movie is based on 2005 novel “Narratage” by Rio Shimamoto and will be directed by Isao Yukisada. In the film, Kasumi Arimura will play Izumi Kudo. Her character is about to begin her second year at a university. Jun Matsumoto will play Takashi Hayama. His character is the former high school teacher of Izumi Kudo. Izumi Kudo then receives a phone call from Takashi Hayama asking her to take part in a high school graduation performance. They both hold conflicted feelings for each other.

“Narratage” will be released sometime during autumn, 2017 in Japan.

Supporting cast announced for movie “L”

Supporting cast has been announced for upcoming movie “L” starring Alice Hirose. Now cast in the movie are Yuki Furukawa, Maryjun Takahashi, Yuta Hiraoka, Yasuyuki Maekawa, Yuta Takahata, Seika Furuhata, Mihiro, Mikako, Yoji Tanaka & Hitomi Takahashi.

Movie “L” is based on rock album “L” by Acid Black Cherry (solo project by Japanese musician Yasu). Story for the film will follow a woman name L, played by Alice Hirose, as she goes through life looking for love.

In the upcoming movie Yuki Furukawa will play Ovesu. His character is in love with L (Alise Hirose). Maryjun Takahashi will play Anna. She works with L at a cabaret. Yuta Hiraoka will play a member of a theatrical company. Yasuyuki Maekawa will play the cabaret owner and Yuta Takahata will play a bakery owner.

“L” will be released sometime this autumn in Japan.

Tao Tsuchiya cast in movie “Tori Girl”

Actress Tao Tsuchiya is cast in new movie “Tori Girl.” The film is based on 2012 novel “Tori Garu!” by Kou Nakamura (“Miracle: Devil Claus’ Love and Magic“) and directed by Tsutomu Hanabusa (“No Longer Heroine“). The film is set at a science university with Tae Tsuchiya playing Yukina Toriyama. Her character falls for senior student Kei which leads her to join the school’s “human powered flight” club.

“Tori Girl” will be released sometime next year in Japan.

Tomoki Hirose cast in movie “Tantei wa, Konya mo Yuuutsuna Yume wo Miru”

Actor Tomoki Hirose is cast in new movie “Tantei wa, Konya mo Yuuutsuna Yume wo Miru.” Movie will be directed by Shintaro Sakurai and based on a screenplay by Jun Tsugita. Premise for the film has Tomoki Hirose working at a private agency office with partner Shoji Aoi. They become involved in a case through a request from a boy.

“Tantei wa, Konya mo Yuuutsuna Yume wo Miru” will be released sometime spring, 2017 in Japan.

Supporting cast for live-action film “P and JK”

Supporting cast has been announced for upcoming live-action film “P and JK” starring Kazuya Kamenashi (‘KAT-TUN’) and Tao Tsuchiya. Now cast in supporting roles are Mahiro Takasugi, Tina Tamashiro, Daigo Nishihata, Aya Omasa , Jun Murakami , Rie Tomosaka and Tomorowo Taguchi. Movie is based on manga series “P to JK” by Maki Miyoshi and directed by Ryuichi Hiroki.

In the upcoming film Mahiro Takasugi will play disorderly student Heisuke Okami. Tina Tamashiro will play Mikado Yaguchi. Her character is friends with Kako (Tao Tsuchiya). Daigo Nishihata will play Jiro Nagakura. His character is classmates with Kako. Aya Omasa will play Fumi Komori. Her character is a police colleague of Kota (Kazuya Kamenashi). Jun Murakami & Rie Tomosaka will play parents of Kako. Finally, Tomorowo Taguchi will play Shuichi Yamamoto. His character is senior police colleague of Kota.

“P and JK” will be released sometime during spring, 2017 in Japan.

Taishi Nakagawa & Marie Iitoyo cast in live-action film “Kyo no Kira-kun”

Taishi Nakagawa & Marie Iitoyo are cast in live-action film “Kyo no Kira-kun.” Movie is based on manga series “Kyo no Kira kun” by Rin Mikimoto and directed Yasuhiro Kawamura (“L-DK“). In live-action film “Kyo no Kira-kun,” Taishi Nakagawa & Marie Iitoyo play high school classmates who are also next door neighbors. Taishi Nakagawa’s character is terminally ill and only has a year to live.

“Kyo no Kira-kun” opens February 25, 2017 in Japan.
