Sota Fukushi cast in live-action film “Bleach”

Sota Fukushi is cast in upcoming live-action film “Bleach.” The live-action film is based on popular manga series “BLEACH” by Tite Kubo and directed by Shinsuke Sato (“Gantz“).

In the upcoming live-action film, Sota Fukushi will play main character Ichigo Kurosaki. Ichigo Kurosaki is attacked by evil spirit Hollow and is helped by angel of death Rukia Kuchiki. After Rukia Kuchiki is injured, she attempts to transfer half of her powers to Ichigo to defeat Hollow, but he ends up absorbing almost all of her powers. Hollow is defeated, but Rukia is trapped as a human. Ichigo is then asked to take her position until she recovers.

“Bleach” will be released sometime during 2018 in Japan.

Kasumi Yamaya cast in movie “Cinderella Game”

Kasumi Yamaya is cast in upcoming film “Cinderella Game.” Movie is based on novel “Shinderera Gemu” by Junpei Arai and directed by Hayato Kano. Also cast in the film are Taro Suruga, Airi Shimizu, Hiko Achiha & Arisa Sonohara.

In movie “Cinderella Game,” Kasumi Yamaya plays Sana Haitani. She’s a member of an idol group, but she gets kidnapped and taken to a desolate island. There, she is forced to take part in a death game with other kidnapped idols.

“Cinderella Game” will be released October 1, 2016 in Japan.

Yuki Furukawa cast in live-action film “Laughing Under the Clouds”

Yuki Furukawa is cast in upcoming live-action film “Laughing Under the Clouds” starring Sota Fukushi, Yuma Nakayama and Kirato Wakayama.

In the upcoming live-action film, Yuki Furukawa will play Sousei Abeno – the captain of the Yamainu squad. The Yamainu squad was formed to discover and destroy the giant snake Orochi. Sousei Abeno and Tenka Kumo (Sota Fukushi) were friends since they were both little, but Sousei Abeno can’t forgive Tenka Kumo for leaving the squad.

“Laughing Under the Clouds” will be released sometime next year in Japan.

Trailer for movie “A Sower of Seeds 3”

Trailer added for upcoming movie “A Sower of Seeds 3” (“Tanemaku Tabibito: Yume no Tsugiki”) starring Rin Takanashi & Takumi Saito. Movie is directed by Kiyoshi Sasabe (“My So Has Got Depression“) & scripted by Teruo Abe (“The Taste of Fish“). Although characters and screenplay are unrelated, movie is a sequel to 2012 film “A Sower of Seeds” and 2015 film “A Sower of Seeds 2.” All three films share similar themes set around agriculture.

“A Sower of Seeds 3” will be released sometime this November in Japan.

Ami Tomite cast in Sion Sono directed film “Anti-Porno”

Ami Tomite is cast in movie “Anti-Porno” directed by Sion Sono. Ami Tomite was a trainee for idol group “AKB48” and this is her first starring role in a film. Setup for the film has Ami Tomite playing an artist and writer who shuts herself in a room and follows a minute by minute schedule sent to her by her manager.

“Anti-Porno” has already received invitations to the competition section at the 22nd L’Étrange Festival and the competition section at the 49th Sitges Film Festival. “Anti-Porno” will be released sometime this winter in Japan.

Nana Yamada cast in live-action film “Mustard Chocolate”

Nana Yamada (former NMB48 member) is cast in live-action film “Mustard Chocolate.” Also cast in the film are Motohiro Ota, Toshiyuki Someya, Keisuke Kaminaga, Tsukushi Suzuki, Atsuki Tomori & Eri Ikeda. Movie is based on manga series “Mustard Chocolate” by Tomoko Fuyukawa and directed by Akihito Sasaki.

In movie “Mustard Chocolate,” Nana Yamada plays Rinko Tsugumi. At her high school, she doesn’t have any friends and she doesn’t talk to with others. She then enrolls in an art cram school and begins to grow as a person.

“Mustard Chocolate” will be released spring, 2017 in Japan.

Supporting cast announced for movie “Kiseki: Sobito of That Day”

Ryusei Yokohama, Ryo Narita and Yosuke Sugino are cast in upcoming movie “Kiseki: Sobito of That Day” starring Tori Matsuzaka & Masaki Suda. Movie revolves around the actual real life band “Greeeen” and their hit song “Kiseki.” Tori Matsuzaka plays the producer of the group and Masaki Suda plays Hide (lead member “Greeeen”).

Meanwhile, Ryusei Yokohama will play Navi, Ryo Narita will play 92 and Yosuke Sugino will play Soh. They are playing the three other members of “Greeeen.”

“Kiseki: Sobito of That Day” will be released sometime spring, 2017 in Japan.

Teaser trailer for movie “Traces of Sin”

Teaser trailer for upcoming movie “Traces of Sin” starring Satoshi Tsumabuki & Hikari Mitsushima. Movie is based on 2006 novel “Gukoroku” by Tokuro Nukui & directed by Kei Ishikawa.

Story for the film has Satoshi Tsumabuki playing reporter Tanaka. He writes about an unsolved murder case that took place a year earlier. A family was murdered in the incident. He learns dark secrets about the family.

“Traces of Sin” will have its world premiere at the Venice International Film Festival on September 6, 2016 and its general release February 18, 2017 in Japan.
